Stopped in for the first time for some slices. The owner Mike was super attentive, making sure we got large slices and let us try their Italian Ice. Pizza was hot, fresh, and a great value. Will have to try their whole pie next time.

One of the best pizzas in the city. Cheese had great flavor and the crust was crisp and crunchy. It was easy to eat multiple slices. Staff is very friendly and treat their customers well. A family friendly run business. Italian ice was also really good. Great way to end a meal. Will definitely be apart of our family meal rotation. Just an FYI If you're going to order a pie, make sure to call ahead.

So glad to have this great new pizza spot on Roscoe Street serving east coast pies and slices that remind me of so many spots I used to frequent back home in New Jersey. New York style pizza has come a long way here in Chicago, with places like Zaza's rivaling some of the best pizza back home. But, of course, while the quality is great, the price is steep. There's Jimmy's, which used to be the only act in town, but they too have suffered from staggering prices and a noticeable dip in quality and freshness. Enter Pizza Amelia, using quality ingredients and constantly tinkering with their recipe at this early stage, serving up really good pizza at very reasonable prices. They nailed the crust, a sort of in-between New York and New Haven crunch. It's got a nice flavor to it as well, which is a welcome change from so many places in the city that attempt this style. The cheese to sauce ratio is excellent, and the sauce itself is very well done, well seasoned with just a little tang. The cheese is good, but, to me, it's a little overdone, particularly on the full pies. You want some cheese pull, and this really doesn't have that. Maybe that's a function of the New Haven influence, but I feel like it would elevate the pie for sure. Having had both, right now I'd say the slices are actually a little better than the pies. Maybe they're a little fresher, but they do have a little cheese pull and are far less greasy. I said Amelia reminds me of many a New Jersey spot, and boy, that grease on the pie was another example. You definitely need a few paper towels to sop some of that up. Pizza Amelia isn't a 5 star pizza spot yet, but I feel like they can get there. And, honestly, even if they don't, they have a customer for life in me. Like the east coast cousin to their neighbor Bartoli's, it isn't the absolute best pizza you have ever had, but you know what you're getting every time you go - quality, delicious pizza made with care at affordable prices. Looking forward to seeing how they grow - would love to see them offer a white pie option, and maybe play around with some other east coast styles (how about a Trenton pie?).

We had some friends stop over last week and needed to figure out a quick bite. I saw this place getting worked on while I went to get my Jimmy John's orders and lo and behold they were finally open. The guy behind the counter was super jazzed to have us in. He gave one helluva handshake and that alone will give em five stars. Like if these are the same hands that work the dough, I know I'm in for a treat. The inside has a few seats but you'd be better off taking it to go. Not really a place for big groups, but I'm sure if you needed it, they would find a way to make it work. There were people in there maxing on single slices, so I assume they sell by the slice. We got a cheese pie and a pepperoni & sausage pie to go. It was a really solid pizza. You could taste the quality of the ingredients. If you're in the Roscoe Village area, check, check, check it out!

If you want the best New Haven style pizza in the Chicago area, this is your place. I've gate kept this spot for a while, but because of these atrocious negative reviews on this place a proper review was needed to put that to rest! 11/10, and Mike is the man!

Bought a slice of sausage pizza here the other day. Crust was crispy and flavor was great. Could use a touch more cheese.

A slice is a lot but it's so good that you end up eating more. You can also reserve via Tock, but beware that the normal dinner time can be booked out early! We got seated immediately upon check-in and service was nice and fast! Definitely prefer the deep dish over the thin here. My party just wanted to try the thin here as well since we've tried deep dish and like it.The wings were a little small (some pieces) but fried crispy and nicely with good buffalo and barbecue flavor. Until next time!

Due…read moreto all the hype I've heard and read for a couple years about Pequod's in Lincoln Park, we took them there. We still prefer Lou Malnati's, hands down. Hubby & I shared a salad... I make better salads and dressings! We ordered a large pan pizza which was overly salty with burnt crust edges. The cheese and tomato sauce were really good, but the saltiness killed it for me. The place was packed and very noisy. Not sure if it was quieter on the second floor. When you have lots of customers, it's important to have a system of checking the status of the restrooms very often. They were quite neglected. We often have out-of-town and foreign guests to host and show off our city to. We always include a deep dish pizza meal for their experience, and usually at Lou Malnati's. Always a great experience, especially the branch in downtown Naperville- consistently good. And Lou's really makes the best salad than anywhere! Sometimes for a potluck contribution I just pick up a Lou's salad, guaranteed to make everyone happy. However, our guests enjoyed the pizza and dessert; thus, I can give 3 stars for our experience at Pequod's.

Big bang buffalo- standard buffalo. Can't go wrong. Hot honey- pretty good, honey flavor, some sweetness Garlic galaxy glaze- this is really good if you like garlic flavor. I would get this again. Bayou in the sky- super super good. I would get this again. Hint of spice, hint of sweet. Carolina bbq- tasted like straight deli mustard. I would pass. The pizza, even though they advertise Detroit Style pizza, their take is more like Focaccia style pizza. They provide nice crunch, not enough sauce. Pretty airy dough. Drooling mushroom- they offer lots of mushrooms on top but the rest of the pizza was not too great. Next time, I would get Ham Radio- pepperoni, bacon, sausage, got and sweet pepper.

So delicious After getting it, my buddy had to get one too haha One of us had the moonwalk cheese, we go out for a lot of pizza together, and he said it was he thought his favorite of anywhere. Another one of our crew got the pepperoni pile up loved. And I got the sweet and salty space candy pizza With bacon, pineapple, pickled red onion, goat cheese, sambal. Genius, the goat cheese, instead of ricotta was the move for this pizza! All the flavors worked in perfect harmony.Nothing short of amazing.
