Last Friday my boyfriend and I were on date night eating in west loop and wanted to grab a few more drinks before we went home. We stumbled across this bar just one block north of Randolph. They have lots of outdoor seating and the inside reminds me of concrete cowboy a little bit, but in the best way. It also has a huge pizza oven so I asked the bartender Alpi if they had any gluten free options. He said that their pizzas can be made on a cauliflower crust. He was very friendly, served fast and was knowledgeable about future events and cocktails. We will be back soon. read more

Kinda disappointed, sounded like a cool concept but not worth it. Our service was poor. Our server Alfi would come over for 5 seconds and then walk away I wasn't even able to order the appetizer after he took the 4th persons drink order he walked away so fast. Then we weren't able to get his attention for 15+ minutes after we were visibly out of drinks and our apps had been cleared. I empathize with being a busy server, but the place was far from full or even crowded. He also at the end asked for feedback which we provided and he was slightly rude maybe smug about it? The inside is nice, decor wise doesn't stand up to other places in Chicago. The bathroom was kinda dirty and the toilet was overflowing and clogged. Some of the food was actually really good. We had the burrata and balsamic pizza and loved it. The salads are average and quite small. The PBJ is as good as a PBJ can ultimately be - it's a PBJ. Drinks also average. It was SO loud. Fulton Market local, very used to brunch waiting times. Walked in on a Sunday, took 15mins for somebody to serve us (the place was pretty empty except for a large party). Placed order of 3 small burger sliders and French fries. Took over 35mins to get order, then got told only 1 chef was in the kitchen. Would've loved to know there would be a wait time before ordering. Waitress was nice but the experience was horrible. Overpriced and average food. Total waste of time, never coming back. Save your $$ and hit up Pizza Parlor also in the West Loop. Was trying to find an alternative but this place is not it. read more

Came for some food and drinks, but left having only received one drink in the hour we were there. The manager was our server and they were not busy at all, but he never came back to our table to take our food order or second round of drinks. We tried waving him down, but to no avail. One of their signature cocktails with Red Bull, whose name escapes me, was really good. I'm so glad my husband and I stumbled upon this place! The food is so good, they have your standard yummy pizza along with artisan ones too. Also for the non-pizza eaters they have great wings, sandwiches (including a PB&J) and amazing salads (beet, burrata and prosciutto). This bar has a cool atmosphere, casual, plays music and is in a great location until the west loop. However, we showed up dressed in costume for Halloween, and when at the bar waiting for drinks my husband and friend (respectful non rowdy patrons) were clearly discriminated against and not served. They were polite, the bar wasn't busy, and it was clear that they were not being served intentionally. It was only after my other friend who knew someone who worked there that they were finally able to be served. Never seen or had such disrespect ever! Even with a cool atmosphere, we'll never go back after such a negative experience. Decent drinks but cannot speak to the food as we didn't get any! read more

PB&J is a great neighborhood spot. It's more laid back than most West Loop places. Wednesdays they allow dogs inside and have a dog menu. For Oktoberfest they have a big beer tent outside (with liters of traditional German beer). For St. Patrick's day they have a big party with an outdoor beer cart serving green beer. This place is always doing something fun. I came in again on Saturday afternoon. We got the hot & bothereds which were so good and surprisingly strong! The servers at PB&J are always great. This time Natalia was helping us. She made sure we had a great time and gave us drink recommendations. We will be sure to come by again soon! read more

I made a dinner reservation last minute and was able to get an awesome patio spot. We had no idea it was still happy hour - lucky us. Rena was our server and was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered a number of suggestions that helped us make a decision (which was to just order both of the pizzas. We opted for a pitcher of the Hot and Bitter (El Jimador, Pineapple, Lime, Habanero Bitters) - SO good. It definitely has a kick, but for anyone afraid of spice you can definitely taste the pineapple sweetness so adding some water helps to balance the spiciness without taking away from the overall flavor. We also got the bacon and sausage pizza (Marinara, Italian Sausage, Chorizo, Bacon, Jalapeno, Green Onion) and the fungi Garcia pizza (Ricotta Bechamel, Roasted Mushrooms, White Truffle Oil, Parsley) both are 10/10. The crust was sooo crispy with the perfect amount of sauce and toppings. The bacon sausage pizza was so flavorful with fresh green onion on top which was a great touch. The mushroom pizza was incredible. It wasn't too oily with the truffle oil. Every bite was packed with flavor. This place is totally affordable and you'll definitely get your money's worth in terms of service and quality. The west loop needed a place like PB &J! Disappointing experience. Service and covid precautions were a big let down. The restaurant was very full. To the point where my fiancé and I considered leaving on multiple occasions out of concern for our safety. We were seated right near the hallway to the bathroom and over 50% of customers were walking around without masks on. None were addressed by restaurant staff. Tables were not six feet apart. Our server would lean in to within a foot of us to speak since it was so loud. 1/5 Service was poor. Took forever to order and our 3 food items came out separately 5-10 min apart. A table that sat down 15 minutes after we ordered got their pizza at the same time as us. 2/5 Foodwise, my fiancé really enjoyed the bratwurst. I thought it was too mustardy. We got a pepperoni and pesto topped pizza that was pretty bland. Also undersauced and overly cheesy. We asked for a side of marinara and we were handed frigid sauce five minutes later. Welp. The country fried chicken sandwich was very tasty but the size of the chicken was too small for the bun. The fries unfortunately were lukewarm and tasted stale. 3.5/5 Ambiance wise, as I already alluded to, it was very loud. Annoyingly so. Interior was nothing to write home about. Pretty basic. Website menu and toast menu to order online from have different ingredients. I have been vegetarian for over 7 years this has never happened to me before. We order what we believed were two vegetarian pizzas, one of which was the calabrese. We went to PB&Js website to order online their site directs you to Toast. The ingredients listed on Toast vs. their site menu are completely different and failed to mention the salami was on the pizza. I was confused when I took a bite and swallowed and felt something tasted strange. I started to inspect the slice and looked at the ingredients again on Toast since I thought I maybe could have missed that there was meat, I didn't. I had my friends look at the pizza and one realized the ingredients on Toast don't line up with what they have on their website. It truly ruined my night, I felt horrible, disgusted and incredibly frustrated that someone else not doing their due diligence to make sure ingredients were correct caused me to unknowingly eat a dead animal. I have never had this happen in over 7 years for a restaurant to make an error like this and not double check that ingredients are correct and consistent is insane. I sent an email on Friday and have heard nothing. I hope you fix your mistake immediately so this doesn't have to happen to anyone else. read more

I don't often review restaurants, but the experience I had at PB&J has left such a poor taste in my mouth I couldn't help but to share my experience to prevent others from making the mistake I did. PB&J was on Eater as a highly recommended new brunch spot. I brought my parents from out of town to try it with me. This restaurant features the worst service I have ever had in my life. The waitstaff is incredibly inattentive: the server brought 4 plates and silverware's to our table of 7 and took 10 minutes to bring out the remaining 3. The server then brought half of our table's food and seemingly forgot about the other half's food, which ultimately came out 30 minutes later, after we had talked to the manager. When we requested the check the server began arguing with us that it was not her fault that the eggs and toast took 30minutes longer than everyone else's meal. World class establishment if you're looking for a terrible time. Will never be going back nor recommending this place to anyone. read more

It was not a good experience for me and my coworkers. Slow service and lack of attention to details. After I paid our bill and rated our experience with a thumbs down, the night manager who just came on shift stopped by us to apologize for the experience and offered to refund my payment, which I declined. She also asked if she can do anything to make our experience better. We just asked her to ensure their patrons are served timely. The manager who was there during our time ran out to talk to us outside of the establishment to apologize for the experience and said our server was not the best they have. Myself along with my coworkers are in leadership roles and told him it was unfair to blame all of our unfortunate experience to our server alone when he himself was on the floor and did not help to make our experience palatable. Suffice to say, I will not come back to this place. I just hope everyone else will have a better experience moving forward. read more

Their most popular menu item is their wings, the wings are seasoned well with a dry rub, smoked for two hours and then dipped for a quick deep fry leaving them with a nice fall off the bone seasoned meat with every bite.
