When you're stressed nothing makes it go away like pizza...Well...there are other things that make stress go away but this week it was pizza from Pizza Bella. The thin crust pizza is Yelpworthy. Hot, thin, cracker-like, cheesy-saucy goodness. I can't think of other words but it was just really good pizza. On a side note, who orders an Italian beef as a side order? Me... I ordered the Italian beef sandwich just to try it out. It was a bit salty and had a scent to it that stated it wasn't as fresh as I thought. Best calzone in town. Can't go wrong with pizza by the slice either. Prices are reasonable and the food is worth the visit. Not a place to dine in though. I've been a regular for years and they have never disappointed me. One time when I went in to pick up my calzone, they had no recollection of my order that I placed over the phone. The manager made it right though by giving me a few free slices, so I left happy. The pizza slices are huge (and what's really the big difference between a calzone and pizza anyway) If you work or live in the area, definitely give them a try. read more

Two words: BLT pizza I've had Pizza Bella during raging keggers and quiet, intimate nights, and it hit the spot every time. The BLT pizza is loaded with mayo, lettuce, bacon and tomato. For an extra treat, I recommend adding chicken as a topping. It's a fairly thing crust, but the toppings make each slice substantial. They make the kind of pizza I grew up with. The thin crust pizza is really good and not greasy at all. The crust and sauce have good balanced flavors; not to sweet or overly seasoned spices. The homemade Italian sausage is outstanding. Great flavor and a nice amount of heat and seasoning. The wings are also pretty good. My favorite are the BBQ wings. The pasta is just okay. You won't be disappointed with the sandwiches or pizza. One of the best Italian places in the area for pizza. read more

Ordered the angel hair pasta w/ white clam sauce for takeout. Highly regrettable decision. The pasta was way over-cooked and the dish was inedible. I managed to salvage what I could by eating the clams and garlic bread that came with the dish. This was extremely disappointing as I've ordered from them a few times in the past and had no complaints. I'm not completely cutting them off yet since I believe in second chances (could've just been an off day or could be related to the fact that I ordered an hour prior to closing time), but I will be wary of my next order. read more

Pizza Bella knocked it OUTTA the park with our recent catered order. First time using them and everyone LOVED everything. We catered the caprese salad, chopped salad, italian beef, italian sausage, the fruit salad and WOW...everything was SO fresh and delicious. We'll definitely be using PB Pizza in the future for office events. Welcome back old fashioned customer service! After a small mishap with our order, the staff was quick to come up with a resolution. Over the years we have "wandered" to other pizza joints closer to home, but with our recent excellent experience in top notch customer service and delicious pizza...and least we forget the yummy eggplant parm.......we will be back! I'm so disappointed with this restaurant. We order from here at least once a week, if not twice. It is fantastic! Best around! We ordered for the first time on their online site and I ordered garlic bread with a specialty pasta, and extra order of garlic bread, but when I went to order the spaghetti there was no place to say which bread you wanted. I assumed it would default to french bread, which is fine because that's my husband's preference anyway. We picked up the order and no third piece of bread. I called and they said just remind us next time. Well went to order today, same order as ever, mentioned that I would pay the upcharge for the garlic bread, but could they throw in a piece of french bread to replace the other. You would have thought I'd asked them for a pot of gold. I asked to speak to the manager and no management on Sunday's. I talked to Brooke who informed me that there was nothing she could do. I guess I'm in a bad mood, but I said "really, grow up, if you are in charge make a decision, throw in a piece of french bread to keep our business" and she wouldn't. I know I'm being a total baby about this, but really? Pizza Bella management you need to empower your staff to make simple decisions so that you don't lose business. You guys are always so busy I guess you don't mind losing a customer. read more

How have I lived in Palatine for over 3 years and not discovered this place yet? We've been settling for mediocre pizzas this entire time - when there was the yummiest pizza just minutes away. We had 3 sets of pick ups set for our multi-pack Cub Scout lock in at the Buehler YMCA the weekend before Christmas. I really like this place for pizza by the slice :) ~$4 for a nice lunch, sure, why not! They wrap the crust around a thin layer of cheese, gives it a stuffed crust feel. Cheese has an assortment of spices (rosemary and oregano, I think?) that gives it a distinctive taste. It was nice for a fast lunch! Also came with a soda. The pizza here is really good. I love their sauce, and that's a hit or miss with pizza places. You either got it right or you don't, and Pizza Bella's definitely got it. We've had your everyday run of the mill pepperoni, to a bbq, bacon, sausage pizza and it's always good. Even their plain cheese is tasty and usually I'm not a fan of boring old cheese pizza. Pizza Bella is still our favorite pizza place in/around Palatine. I actually crave it. We always order the same three things: Hawaiian pizza (WOW); a Sausage, Onion and Spinach pizza; and Jalapeño poppers. All amazing. We always order the pizza well done and it comes perfectly that way, I highly recommend it (unless you hate crispy pizza). Horrible customer service. I used to go here often because of the specials and they were real close. Something changed over the years though. The last number of times I ordered from them for carryout, I would often have to wait 10-20 minutes longer than the esitmated time. One time I ordered a pizza and some apps from them for carryout. When I got there around the estimated time given, I had to wait another 15 minutes just for them to tell me they made a mistake and didn't make the pizza and just put in in. They offered to deliver it to the house which was nice of them and I was also informed I would receive a $5 credit for the trouble. Next time I ordered, I mentioned the $5 credit and they refused to give it to me. That was the very last time I will ever order from them again. Anyone can make an honest mistake, but not honoring credit given for your mistake to begin with is just horrible. If this is how you treat a customer who has been going to you guys over the last few years, then I am shocked you are still in business. There are too many other good pizza places around to even bother with this place. read more

Pizza was supposed to be ready at 6:29pm.....waited there until 7:20pm (50 minutes) while guests were at my house. Asked for manager to call me back and he never did. We have ordered from Pizza Bella a few times before but not sure what happened today as the pizza was sub par. It was supposed to come with green peppers, mushrooms, onion and sausage but it was delivered covered in red and orange bell pepper and barely any sausage. I have now had pizza Bella every Thursday night for the last three weeks. My go to pizza is the sausage mushroom green pepper and onion. But I recently tried the mac and ronni pizza which has homemade mac n cheese and pepperoni on it. The pizza here is what I consider authentic chicago style. I still maintain that the gluten free pizza is great but the delivery service is subpar. Not only do they take FOR EVER, they also act like you are inconveniencing them. I'm sorry I just spent $25 on a pizza...show up within a reasonable time and be polite. read more

Finally ordered delivery from Pizza Bella since moving here 2 years ago. Hubby and I were looking for restaurant to deliver wings. PIzza Bella did just that. We ordered on a Saturday night about 6 pm. Ordered online and made special notes about minor modifications to the items we ordered. Large chopped salad with both olives and pepperoncini on the side and both the Italian and Creamy Garlic dressing, 10 regular Teriyaki wings and 10 "breaded" Hot (Mild) wings with blue cheese dressing and celery. Affordably priced and, for a Saturday night the wait would be 1 1/2 hours. We are in the "red" zone for delivery so there was an additional $3 charge. To be honest, all of this was fine as long as we didn't need to leave the house! :) When the order arrived in 1 hour 15 minutes, the wings were hot, (we received 10 teriyaki and 12 hot) the salad was cold and finely chopped and all but the celery were packaged nicely. In fact, the celery was missing and we never received it. A little disappointing because I love the celery when I'm eating wings, but I did without. Plenty of dressings included, both with salad and wings. Incidentally, large Chopped Salad was more than enough to serve two people a good size entree salad. The Creamy Garlic dressing was UH-mazing combined with the house Italian (kind of like a think Balsamic Vinaigrette). Absolutely delicious. When I ordered the breaded wings, I assumed they were boneless. THEY ARE NOT. They are simply regular, bone-in wings tossed in a small amount of breading then deep fried - not bad, per se, just not what one comes to expect when one reads "breaded" wings on the menu. Not bad, mind you. Just not necessary to our tastes. All in all, great wings delivered, even to us in the "red" zone, hot and crispy. The Chopped Salad will be a new favorite with the Creamy Garlic and the Teriyaki wings will be in our next order. Both are really, really good. This is a real pizzaria...guys rolling dough in front of the customers, etc. I picked up my first order here because I wanted to see the establisment for myself. Impressive. I asked for easy cheese and extra sauce on my pizza. This sounds like a simple request, but many places get it wrong. Pizza Bella is legit. No 5 star rating due to the girl at the register with the 'tude. She was only nice after I mentioned to her that she forgot my garlic bread. Love their pasta with vodka sauce, caprese salad, and thin crust pizza. Tonight for the first time I got a beef sandwich for my BF and he said it was amazing. I, on the other hand, had ravioli with "marinara" sauce and it was, by far, the strangest tasting marinara sauce I have ever had. Please don't judge but I was crazy busy and didn't cook for Christmas Eve. I took a leap of faith and ordered the entire meal from Pizza Bella. We are Italian and take our food seriously, especially where we go for Italian food. Well, the food was amazing! Eggplant Parmigiana was delicious, green beans were scrumptious not over cooked or soggy and were in a delicious marinade. Sausage and peppers, same thing - amazing :) Chopped salad was yummy and oh my goodness their chocolate cake, delectable. Mixed Bag. Pizza last night was off the charts delicious. Internet order was worked to perfection -- large thin, with easy ingredients throughout. Tonight's almost identical order was not very. Someone in the kitchen must have mis-read "easy" for "extra" -- layer of cheese was a half inch thick and there was so much sauce that the edges didn't even form a crust. Brutal! It seriously looked like my 5 year old dressed this pizza. Guess the Friday night cook is better than the Saturday night cook?! In any case, I'm willing to give Pizza Bella a shot at redemption.
