But, great quality and price. $5 for a slice of pizza, which is actually one huge slice cut into two slices. No fountain drinks but they have plenty of bottled drinks in the cooler to choose from. Very nice people and fast! Just wish they had better AC. There is a fan blowing which helped, but in this heat, I just want some ice cold AC to eat lunch in. Pizza was delicious, though. Pizza D'Oro is a wonderful neighborhood pizza joint (plus) with supurb customer service. I often just stick with the pizza. The crust is buttery and crusty. The sauce has a pleasant flavor and is always in the perfect amount. I once had the vegetable calzone and ate it for three lunches (so large). Sometimes I come to pick up the Ben & Jerry's ice cream. (Yes, it's cheaper at the CVS next door... but, if you are questioning my decision, you must have not ever been to the CVS on 7th and Florida). Other than that, I don't venture away from the pizza. Let's dispell two themes I have seen in the reviews: Boring pizza options? The toppings menu includes anchovies, baby shrimp, eggplant, artichokes, spinach, gorgonzola, jalapenos, ricotta cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and fresh garlic. If you're bored with the pizza menu, then you're just not creative enough. Today I ordered a pie with ricotta, spinach, and sun dried tomatoes = delicious. New york style pizza? It's not. Don't expect it to be and you'll be satisfied. (Don't get me wrong, New York pizza is fantastic. But, I don't understand why New Yorkers always gotta force their pizza style on EVERY pizza joint! It's not very often you find a place that serves halal pepperoni AND new york style pizza. I always order a large pepperoni/sausage combo and they never fail. It's actually the only place I buy pizza from in the city. I love this place. The only thing I don't like is when they forget the garlic sauce, which happens quite often. read more

I love their food, however their service leaves A LOT to be desired. I work in a downtown building, and like most downtown buildings all deliveries need to be made through the loading doc. I tell them this when I make the order and still get a call to come down and pick the food up. When I explain to them that I can not as I cover the front desk, they insist claiming they will get a ticket is they leave their car unattended on a main street. After explaining over and over again that they can go around the block and park where I originally told them, I hung up and called the restaurant. I canceled my order and explained why. I was told by the person who takes the order that all she does it take the order and she cant give any direction to the driver :-| So, as much as I love their Buffalo Chicken Pizza, I wont be ordering from them again. I have ordered delivery from Pizza D'Oro several times on-line. Never sure which place is fulfilling the order. The 14th St. NW site is closer to me however the labels on the bags when it arrives says the T St. NW location. Usually the food is good. The delivery is always as promised however the last two orders have been incorrect. Tonight the order was incorrect. I asked for two blue cheese dressing packets and only received one. I ordered a ginger ale and received lemon-lime soda. Very disappointing. read more

Fantastic pizza, great service, great prices. One "slice" of pizza is $4, but you're actually getting two huge slices. Been here twice in two days - it's that good. Both times the service was very friendly and the food was cooked to order. Do plan on waiting a few minutes if you don't call ahead, but that just shows the food isn't sitting out getting stale. We haven't tried the pasta dishes or subs, but they look great on other people's plates. The variety here makes it a great place for everyone to eat. read more

Food is just ok. Ordered pizza and boneless "buffalo" wings. I put buffalo in quotes because half of the wings are completely dry- no sauce. Essentially chicken nuggets. Pizza is decent. They need to step up their napkin game though- cocktail napkins are not ok to send with chicken wings. Cmon, guys. I've only ever had delivery from Pizza D'oro, so this review will only be based on that. Honestly, I've never had anything but fantastic experiences. They always say the delivery will take 45 minutes, but it barely ever takes a 1/2 hour. The delivery drivers have always been really courteous as well! Also, it's worth nothing that my food always comes to me either piping hot, or nice and cold, depending on what it is! They actually take the time to put foil on their pasta underneath the plastic covering so it stays nice and hot! Also, they pack the salads in a different bag than everything else, so they're always a good temp, not warm and yucky like some places. Overall, I've had a great experience with this place and will continue to give them my business for sure! read more

This pizza place was excellent and very up to date on the communication. Having had a bad experience with DC delivery before, there was no delivery fee, it was here when it said it was going to be here and the food was delicious. The only thing was it was missing ingredients on the pizza which no objected to since we got it on time and the service was great. The one thing I can definitely say about this place is that it's very consistent. If you decide to order the wings like I do always get them well done because they're baked. But if you get them well done they're absolutely perfect, trust me on this one. The pizzas here are great as well. During my last order I ordered their half chicken which was actually pretty good. It had a very good marinade on it and was grilled to perfection. It was also served with some fresh-cut fries. You really can't go wrong with this place. This is my go-to for delivery to my place in Columbia Heights. I usually get the pepperoni calzone which is tasty and more than enough food for dinner and a snack the next day. The calzone is loaded with plenty of pepperoni and comes with sides of marinara and garlic-butter sauce for dipping. The latter is really great. The calzone is folded in a horseshoe-like shape, and sometimes the top of the horseshoe feels a little undercooked. Otherwise I love the calzone. I've also ordered boneless wings, which I found underwhelming--more like chicken nugget consistency. I prefer the chicken strips that are on the menu, but of course don't come smothered in tasty sauces. The Caesar salad is simple but fresh if you're ever looking for lighter fare. I'm willing to say that I probably should have just ordered a pizza, but i really wasn't feeling anything too saucy which is why I went with a cheese steak and Caesar salad. Rest of my coworkers liked their variety of pizzas and calzone, however my Cheese steak was dry and the lettuce was super gross. My Caesar salad smelled odd and was limp as well. Thankfully there was another lunch choice provided. I will probably give an update once i've tried the pizza, as I am a pizza connoisseur ( or would like to think at least) lol. P.S. My food was delivered on time, but missing two items of my order. I confirmed with the delivery driver that the stapled paper bag had my garlic bread and salad and was assured that "everything is in there." Turns out that nothing I ordered was in there. My garlic bread was completely forgotten and the wrong salad was the only thing in the bag. I called to get replacements and was told it would take just a few minutes to get it. The place is 8 minutes away and the correct food arrived 30 minutes later while my pizza got cold. I ate a few pieces while waiting and was far from blown away. I decided to give Pizza D'oro a shot since it was recommended by friends. I ordered a large pizza and boneless wings for delivery. The delivery was fast and food arrived hot. The pizza was thin crust, as I like. The crust was yummy but for those that prefer sauce to the pizza edge, this will not be to your liking. The pizza also contained garlic butter sauce container which was another yummy. The toppings were generous and good amount of cheese. The boneless wings were spicy, but not overly. They were breaded nuggets and not baked as crunch as I would have preferred. This is something for future orders I will ask for them to baked a little longer.
