I order pizza to go or delivery from this location probably an average of 3 times per month. (yes, I love pizza way too much) The pizza is consistently good, and although they can get slow when busy, who can blame them? The owner and employees are always working hard. The owner works about a million hours a week, and somehow seems to remember all her regulars. This is not a thin-crust pizza (-- for those of you who only eat east coast style). It is medium crust, crispy on the outside, and soft inside without being too dough-y. The tomato sauce is good, and they are not skimpy with their ingredients. It may not be the most amazing pizza I've ever had, but it's definitely good enough to keep me coming back regularly, and good enough to recommend to others. NOTE: I have never eaten my pizza inside the restaurant -- I think I would only do that if I were with a big group or had kids with me. It seems really family friendly, with lots of stuff to keep kids busy, and is noisy enough that you wouldn't have to feel bad about the noise your own kids were making. For friends stopping somewhere on their way home after a trip to Tahoe, it would be fine; there are lots of comfortable looking booths. NOTE #2: I think Pizza Factory is a chain of franchise places, but I didn't know that when I first ate there. I haven't tried any other location, and my review is only for the Placerville location. read more

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! YOU HAVE TO GIVE THIS PLACE A SECOND LOOK! Going from an old dingy hole in the wall to a clean family environment. We always liked to patronize this local restaurant when we would swing by town. The people were always friendly and helpful. That being said, it didn't looked like the old owners spent too much on the environment. Now, the place is reborn into a clean, well lit, family establishment. There's a new open air feel since all the booths are gone and they opened up the kitchen area. They really did a good job making this place look modern and comfortable for all. The service was friendly and inviting, not to mention the pizza was pretty good too. I brought my family and friends this round and they had a great time eating pizza and playing air hockey. As stated, this place is clean. This is a big thing for me, especially since I have a little one. The bathrooms are well kept and the tables and floor were just as inviting. As for the pizza, it was good enough to be different from other pizzas. It wasn't the best, but it was definitely good. I would still recommend! this should really be a 2 star. the pizza is amazing. almost like taco bell and mcdonalds. its SO good. but then your stomach hurts, you get the runs, you feel huge after and theres no actual service. you self serve, its not that cheap. except kids are cheap (like mcdonalds.) but its just not somewhere i would ever go again, unless i was looking to binge eat a bunch of stuff that taste good but makes you feel icky. read more

I am not a review person at all. Honestly, when I don't like something or don't get the product/service I feel I deserve, I usually just make a mental note not to go there again and move on. But after my experience with this business I was pushed to write a bad review (now that is motivation and the wrong type). I ordered basically their version of a large combo pizza for delivery. The good news is that the pizza came quickly and the driver found our house which is not the easiest thing to do as we live on nearly 9 acres and GPS is not always helpful. That is where the good part of this review begins and ends. $28.35 plus tip was the total. The pizza that was delivered looked like a medium sized football. I took a picture because I wanted to post it for everyone to see but I guess that is not available on Yelp. Maybe I will just change my profile picture and upload it for all to see. I immediately called them to complain and I got the same person I spoke with to place the order. She was just basically kinda flat toned, bordering on rude but more indifferent stating that the outside of the pizza/crust should not be close or near the edge of the box because it interferes with closing said box (paraphrasing). which makes sense but should there really be 6 inches of space and should a pizza kind be circular? In the end she offered my household 50% off and that this discount would be noted on my "account". I worked for 3 pizza company's when I was in high school and it is not a complicated game. You make good pizza and give better than average customer service and you basically get customers for life or as long as you live in the area. If you don't do that you get what I got. a $32 pizza that was extremely small and shaped like a football. And 50% off on another pizza which felt like pulling teeth to get. Way to go Pizza Factory giving locals and travelers yet another reason not to support business's in our town. I sure hope the owners read this review and make it right, but who knows. For me, two things about a pizza make it really standout...the quality of the crust and the amount of ingredients. After trying a small vegetarian pizza, I found the crust had the perfect texture- crunchy underneath and light and chewy on the top. The ingredients were literally falling off the pizza when I pulled out a slice, so they don't skimp on ingredients. Bottom line the pizza was tasty and had a nice texture and plenty of toppings. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the cost-at $16 for a small. The value is probably a better deal buying larger pizzas. Not cheap but better than most of the local chains. Stopped in with family for an evening pizza and we were the only ones here for an hour and a half. Pizza came fast and was decent but nothing great here. Satisfied the hunger, nothing moving to bring us back. Salad bar was standard and the pitcher of beer cold at a reasonable cost. We will not make a return trip for a meal here. read more

Tasty pizza, very much akin to a Round Table. The location is very convenient if passing through Placerville. The restaurant is large, with a nice play area with games for kids, TVs with sports etc. The pizza itself was quite tasty, prepared quickly, and provided for a positive experience and a quick return to the freeway. HANDS DOWN, BEST PIZZA IN PLACERVILLE. Perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and pepos ( I've only compared large pepperoni here), with vaunted benefit of crispy edges on cheese ( tastes like whole milk motz.), on the not thin crust and on the ample meat. Truly the classic flavor I remember from my childhood and the pizza poster-child La Vals in Berekeley. I reviewed Heyday on Main, found it swimming in raw flour un-risen tasteless crust and tossed it into the bin after 2 excruciating good old college tries. Clearly the worst Pizza and overpriced ( $28 for a large pepperoni ) Still stunned it has high + ratings when it really tastes lousy with sour, acidic sauce. Pizza Spankys on Placerville Dr., and Pizza on Missouri Flat were similarly good, but neither transcendent Hey boycott the grunge- overpriced and under finessed served at pompous Heyday- and get the Best at Pizza Factory. Ugh. Have eaten two wonderful delicious pizzas in S Florida recently. Top of the line ingredients and terrific crust. The one we got Sunday from this place was terrible. I don't even call it pizza. I came with a bunch of coworkers and it was alright. I took one star away because they had potato wedges but no ketchup really disappointed because I don't like ranch and I had to eat them dry. Horrible experience. I'm a strict vegetarian and they messed up my order and gave me a meat order. Not only that, but they messed up my entire table of orders. The process took 1.5 hours to fix, and the manager was being sassy to my group (making up stories, etc). Pizza Factory up by grizzly flats and holidee market and all the other pizza factory's that I've been to all make the pony express the same with bacon bits perfectly crisp on top of the pony express the one in Placerville they put a bunch of globby fatty bacon and I walked in today to see what they fixed the gross bacon problem now cause it's been years and since I stepped foot in there, and the young man showed me the bacon they use. Still globby gross fatty bacon. I asked if they can put bacon bits instead in the manager was so rude he didn't hear the whole conversation just jumped in and said that's your opinion barking at me and then his wife was barking at me and they acted so defensive they can't even take construction criticism, and they don't make their bacon the same way as all the other franchises I don't care what that lady says or that man they're both rude I've dealt with them twice now and I will never step foot in that restaurant again. read more

Pizza from the Placerville Pizza Factory is our favorite guilty dinner ! I'm giving them 4 stars mainly for the hosts (5 stars) and then for the pizza (4 stars). "Parm" and "Deep" are great hosts!! The pizzas we order are always good, yummy and inexpensive. When we get bored with our old favorite (pepperoni and black olive), they suggest different combos - even half of one kind, including sauce and the other side having different sauce and different toppings. The owners are very friendly and try to help out the local economy while still making a living. From what I understand, they hire local. They also try to support local musicians. For example, last night they had an open mike event with a local band helping host. Get on down and support our Placerville Pizza Factory! These are great folks!! read more

We went a few weeks back with our basketball team. All the kids and adults had a lot of fun. Food was so much better than before. It had been a few years since I had been in. They even had karaoke that night. It was a saturday. Made it so much fun to see our locals singing. I just looked up the number because we are going again with our team for our end of year party and figured I would share. I wanted to add jalapeños to half the pizza but the lady said we can put them on the side I said ok. A great place to stop and get an amazing pizza with the family! They are recently under new ownership and the owners are sweet as can be and very accommodating! They hold events from meetings to birthday parties in the new private room, they also have karaoke on Saturday nights that is always a blast and open-mic night the first and last Fridays of the month! They also have a fun assortment of arcade games where you can see your kids playing from almost any where in the restaurant! Which is always a bonus! They also have great beer and local wines on tap and bottled! I have tasted Hawaii Pizza here. It was good looking and yummy. It is clean around and staff is quite friendly. Recommend by my wife and me.

Food & Service -- Service was fast and friendly for our quick family lunch while traveling through the area. The subs were good and our son enjoyed his pizza. Atmosphere -- Fun/casual surroundings, lots of arcade-style games for kids to play. There were several locals hanging out to watch the football game (it was early Saturday afternoon) and they were surprisingly quiet doing so, so we felt a bit timid about allowing our son to play any of the many noisy games which he had hoped to play. Thankfully, the food came out quickly so he was distracted well enough by that. Needing Improvement -- The bathrooms were dingy, smelly, and in need of maintenance. The booth benches were wobbly and appeared ready to pull off their frames - I actually tested out 3 different booths before settling on one that I didn't think would buckle under us (and we're not large people). These issues are why I wouldn't give more stars for this visit. Summary -- I'm glad we had this place to eat as an alternative to typical fast food while on this trip - the food and service were good. The bathrooms and booth benches are in need of maintenance/repair but that wouldn't prevent us from ordering take-out for family dinners or parties if we lived in the area. read more
