Was really excited to check this out as I've been following it's opening for a while. Pizza Grace is definitely a more upscale, pricier kind of place, but the quality of the food reflects that through their made-to-order pizzas. You can see the kitchen in full view and watch as they make your pie from scratch. The pizza itself? Absolutely incredible. I had a margherita pizza, basic I know, but everything was so good! The sauce, the cheese, the basil, and the dough was especially a highlight. I felt like I was eating bread from a specialty bakery. Turn these into bread sticks and people would buy them. I also got a chance to speak to the owner, Ryan, and he was very friendly and happy to talk despite the rush. I love supporting local businesses and it's nice to see more entrepreneurs taking a chance and setting up shop in the Magic City. Hope to come back here with a crowd soon! read more

Ah man. I don't like giving lower reviews and I honestly had high expectations for this place. The atmosphere is definitely 5 stars but... the food for the price? Definitely dragged it down. It's a thin crust pizza cooked in a roaring fire at 700* but somehow, the crust remains soggy. It's not your classic New York thin crust pizza, you need a fork and knife to eat it. We got the margarita pizza and added pepperoni to it. I do appreciate how they source their ingredients thoughtfully and curate their menus on top notch ingredients. I am not really a pizza person, but Pizza Grace turned me into one. Everything they have is full of flavor-- not just the taste of cheese and bread. I had the veggie pizza which I thought was amazing, I wanted to eat all of the mushrooms off of the rest of the pizza but sadly that would have caused a fight because my boyfriend felt the same way. The garlic bread app was also complete perfection. The only thing I wish they had was a better drink selection; it's currently just canned beer and canned wine, totally fine but I would have loved a cocktail with this meal. The place is gorgeous and the location is great. Waitstaff were all super nice and the vibe was super chill and not stuffy. Will definitely be back very soon! read more

Came here on a Thursday around 7:30 and it was packed. It's small and they have seats inside, outside, along the window, and a bar at the kitchen. We sat at the kitchen and could watch the magic happen. All the staff was super friendly and efficient. They have a water station for self service. We tried three of their pizzas because we couldn't resist but it was a ton of food. You could split one pizza between two people. There is a lot of crust to the pizza but it is so good. The crust was crispy on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside. All the toppings were really good. We added ham bacon and mushrooms to the pepperoni and it was so savory. There bacon was big glorious chunks, the ham was thin shredded, the mushrooms were AMAZING. You can tell all the products they use are high quality. The lamb pizza had slight spicy heat coming from it and the meat was so tender. Would income here again? Definitely! read more

I grew up in NYC and live in New Orleans and as a result am a big pizza snob, and this was the best wood fired pizza I've had in years! Crust so good I nearly fought my husband for his piece. Tried out Bham's newest pizza spot in a hip renovated area off Morris Avenue and it was incredible! Myself and three friends split the margarita, pepperoni, and kielbasa pizzas which was more than enough slices to go around. Perfectly cooked wood fired crust with fresh and unique ingredients. My wife and I ate at Pizza Grace this week and it was outstanding. We found this place rather accidentally even though we have a condo downtown. It was a lucky find and strongly recommend you try this place. We had garlic bread prior to the pizza and it was hot and wonderful. The pizza had farm fresh ingredients and everything about it was excellent. This restaurant has an excellent vibe...not a typical piazza place but somewhere you could take a date. We heard the news of the newest pizza spot in bham ! We love our pizza and make a lot of it at home ! When we walked in immediately met by a hostess and the atmosphere was classy and right off of Morris Ave with the historic cobblestone road ! We wanted to sit at the bar to see the chef at work and it was amazing ! He spoke with us about the ingredients as well as the process which was my favorite part then made our marg pie ! Came here for an early Valentines dinner. Had the salad, which was terrific, the garlic cheese bread, which was mild (less garlicky, more buttery), and the smoky something pizza, which was great. Someone commented on a soggy crust, our crust was not soggy. We sat at the bar and had great service. One really odd thing that took this review from 5 stars to 4 stars ....there was someone cleaning the kitchen all around the fridge and food prep (salad) area. He was using an aerosol spray cleaner on the back stainless steel wall. To his credit, he tried to shield it when he sprayed, but it's aerosol...that stuff goes! It was odd and a bit distasteful... I just had the most exquisite pizza at Pizza Grace in downtown Birmingham. I'm absolutely serious that their margherita pizza, from a culinary perspective ... you'll not find a tastier and more expertly crafted pizza in my opinion. The crust was thin. You will not find better pizza in Birmingham! We hit up Pizza Grace at least once a month (and it's about a 35 minute drive there for us!). The salads are amazing, the pizza is out of this world, the ambiance is chill, and the owners are PRECIOUS! We feel like family when we walk in . Both were perfect - I'd recommend the house made sauces/additions: hot honey, ranch and pickled peppers. We had the off-menu oatmeal dessert they were serving that day... seriously amazing. Tried this place with a friend and immediately got this trendy hipster vibe: craft beer, local kombucha on the menu, the only sodas being of the variety in glass bottles, and just a few pizza selections that start in the realm of $23. There is a salad on the menu too as well as one dessert. No iced tea of any kind but they do have espresso and cappuccinos. We ordered a cheese pizza and it was good but not great. It had six slices which was big enough for the two us. My friend asked for parmesan which they brought but didn't know they would charge $1.50 for a very small little bowl of it and the waiter didn't mention a charge. There was one server for the whole place Inside and out. He could have used help for a busy dinner service and he was the only wait staff. Pizza was good but for really great pizza there are better options in town. Check out Davenport's in Mountain Brook for one. Would not recommend for kids or families with babies. I don't think they have the capacity plus the floors are a hard concrete. read more

I am honestly surprised at how this place got nominated for a James Beard award. I mean, the pizza is good, but we have several great pizza restaurants in Birmingham. It is no better than Slice or Troups, but it is more expensive. Additionally, the customer service is seriously lacking. You order at your table, but you have to fix your own water... we had a toddler with us who was getting fussy towards the end of our meal. We decided to go ahead and let another party have our table and take her outside to the central courtyard area. We had brought a very small cake as it was one of our party member's birthdays. We came back inside to ask for a knife to cut the cake and the owner had the audacity to charge a $25 cake cutting fee. For a cake the size of a cupcake that we ate outside. Needless to say, we will not be back and I would discourage others from spending your money here. read more

I highly recommend eating at Pizza Grace. Ive passed it a few times and decided to stop by and I am so glad I did. The food was amazing, atmosphere warm and cozy, and the hospitality was great. The pizza was delicious and very flavorful. I'm big on sauce and it was very good, with the perfect mix of sweetness and herbs. The cheesecake was perfect, it may have been the best cheesecake I've ever had - I'm going to try it again to confirm lol. The ambiance, customer science and location is superb!! The menu selection is rather small and there are no options to add sausage or chicken to your pizza.
