I was under the impression you could go to any Pizza Hut in the country and get a meal that was consistent and met the corporate standards. That doesn't seem to apply here at the Kanab, UT Pizza Hut. The meal was delivered on time but it wasn't in a hot bag to keep the food hot....thus is was cold when delivered. I am staying in a rented house less than a mile from the restaurant. I would expect a hot meal. The food also seemed bland. My wife and I couldn't quite put our finger on what was different from the other Pizza Huts we've dined in. We've been in Pizza Huts in Illinois, Wisconsin, Idaho, Utah, Arizona and the one in Kanab was by far our worst experience. Someone needs to sit down and retrain the staff or management. You can usually count on a consistent experience at Pizza Hut. The Kanab franchise bucks that tradition. I suspect at some point in her life the young server has smiled, but tonight was not the night for such trivialities. Note that we were practically alone this evening in the dining room. The next joy was what I like to think of as Satan's Salad Bar. It was probably restocked some time during the civil war and while the lettuce was crisp, the offerings were scarce at best. I shudder to think of the poor sod who will have to remove the hard-boiled egg from its encrusted container. Surly server finally decided to visit us again and somehow missed the fact that we lacked silverware. Twenty, maybe thirty minutes later, the personal pan pizzas arrived. Other than cheese that wasn't quite as melted as usual, it was acceptable. I briefly toyed with the idea of doing a classic dine and dash, reasoning no one would have noticed, but my religious training forbids such. The check was given without much acknowledgement and the payment was received with even less. If you are on the brink of starvation, by all means, give this restaurant a whirl, but otherwise, I'd advise ANYWHERE else in Kanab, Utah. read more

The Pizza was great in taste but it wasn't as hot as it should be. The delivery guy did apologized as our pizza was about 15 minutes late and we did receive a coupon for free breadsticks the next time we ordered. However using their app which I thought was neat to see when it was being delivered, was meaningless. It was also disappointing that they were just a five minute drive from our hotel so we choice delivery as we were tired from traveling. read more

Nothing like standing by the counter in a nearly empty restaurant and having 3(!) employees all trying to pretend to not notice me for 5 minutes. For a second I thought I might be in an M.Night Shyamalan movie. One was slowly cleaning the windows, one was fiddling with empty pizza boxes, and one was at the food preparation area. Went to the lunch buffet a little around noon. We almost didn't go in because the employees were standing around the front entrance smoking cigarettes. You'd think they could find a less visible space. I have nothing against smokers, I just don't want to smell it or have my food taste like it. We ended up going in and we were the only people there for lunch. The food was OK, but obviously not too fresh and they really didn't put anything new on the buffet while we were there. Even though we were the only customers, our waitress never cleared our table. The two that were working were more concerned with putting their silverware together for some reason. I asked about frosting for the cinnamon sticks, and even offered to pay for a cup but I was just told no (even though I know they have it because we had gotten it on a take-out order before) We ended up paying around $24 for two of us for the buffet and a drink. We went to another local place the next day and got better food, better service, and almost half the price. I wouldn't waste my money on here again. Be aware that this small town Pizza Hut does not handle a large influx of visitors (such as occurs over the 4th of July) well. I called to order 1 pizza and was told that delivery was running about two hours out. The man I spoke to even said, "We will have it there around 9". I agreed, knowing that we had things to do. 2 hours passed, then another 30 minutes. I called to confirm an eta and was told it would be at least another 30 minutes. When I said that the time originally quoted was 2 hours, he said, "I'm the one that talked to you and I said 2-3 hours." Simply not true, and calling your customer a liar is rarely good business practice. An apology would have been much more appropriate. I cancelled my order and went down the street to the other pizza place in town where, despite having to pick it up rather than have it delivered, I was met with cheerful service and better prices. I worked in this industry for more than a decade. I know how hard food service can be. An apology and acknowledgment of the issue goes a long toward making the customer happy and not sending business to the competitor. read more

We came in for the Buffett at 12:45. We were told that it only went until 1:30. Ok 45 minutes should be long enough.... It is now 1:30 and because the buffet has not been restocked with pizza since we got here we have only had a piece or two and a little pasta. I'm not sure if they are just understaffed but this is the worst buffet service I've ever had. Not one fresh pizza in almost an hour. We paid to eat but can't if there's no food. They just gave a take out pizza to someone who came in after us. Still waiting it's been an hour. read more

DISASTER! I love and always use Pizza Hut online ordering when traveling. Ordered for delivery after a long day wanting to kick-back and relax. 25 minute estimated delivery time. After 1 1/2 hours I called the restaurant to check. On hold for 10 minutes. Finally answered and they said "Oh good you called we have NO driver today. Do you still want you order. You can it pick up?" After 2 hours. tired and very hungry I picked up my cold, hard pizza with no apology. Will NEVER eat at Pizza Hut in Kanab. Looking in kitchen the restaurant was also filthy!! Gives the chain a BAD name! P.S. Had several other GREAT dining experiences at other establishments in this beautiful town! read more

Lots of people on Yelp have griped about this Pizza Hut. First of all, it's Pizza Hut. Just eat it. Second, if you've used the pick-up service, you know this is an awesome option. Place your order online, put on your jammie's, and go get your pizza without even getting out of your car. Third, get a pizza, take it home, eat it. We were in town for a funeral last month and brought a large group in while they were already slammed. They professionally and efficiently handled our group. We were very impressed..as we have food service experience and can spot when a business is overwhelmed but get through it well. Nice job. read more

We arrived 30 min before closing. They yelled for someone to come seat us then she looked at us and waited for us to initiate the conversation. We said there were three of us and she kept just looking at us for several seconds before finally telling us we could seat ourselves wherever (despite the sign that said "wait to be seated"). We ordered a pizza (they were out of regular crust) and a pasta. It was served to us about 25 min after we arrived and immediately asked if we wanted a box. We got a box for the pizza knowing we wouldn't finish then the waitress said she'd be right back with our bread for the pasta dish. She came back with a bag of bread and said it was in a bag to go because they closed in 3 min. We asked if she wanted us to pay the bill and she said we'd have to pay at the front. 8 min after we got our food she came back and asked if we were ready to leave. I said it was the first time being kicked out of a restaurant and she told me they'd had a long day. I told her we had too after traveling all day but we walked out with our half eaten food and a bad experience. Tables around us were a mess, they were not ready to walk out the door and every restaurant knows you seat people until closing, you don't kick them out at closing. read more

We camped nearby a few months ago, and ordered a "Supreme" large pizza for takeout. It was very light, had very few toppings, crust was hard. We should have refused it - it was the most awful, crispy overdone 'pizza' we ever tasted! The Supreme was supposed to be the best pizza, with most all ingredients. The story will be long like our wait was for this crappy food. First, it was raining heavily and there was no mat to prevent you from falling on their slippery tile floor. Second, we waited around in front of the don't seat yourself sign despite all the employees being right behind that sign. Third, when we were acknowledged they told us it would be an hour wait for our food. We accepted the long wait regardless because we were hungry and it was monsooning outside and there weren't really any other options open. During the wait I noticed that there were a bunch of dirty tables that had not been cleaned yet. Fourth, my food came out first which was a personal pan pizza and some breadsticks. When my friend's food finally came out the wings were the wrong flavor and the fries didn't have the requested seasoning on it (turns out they tried to give my friend someone else's order).10 minutes later the right flavor of wings came out but looked nothing like the picture on the menu and the new fries just never came... Fifth, the table behind us was foreign tourists and they had asked for another soda, which they weren't that busy to take two seconds to get another soda. When the table got up from their seats to go ask again for a soda, the more senior employee told them that she had warned them it would be an hour before they could even take their order. This made me laugh. That wasn't the warning any of us were given and it was also just really rude to treat a customer like that.
