We just stopped by from outta town and the pizza was dry flat old and cold. They didn't really heat it up enough and it had been sitting too long. The ambiance is always nice otherwise I woulda given it one star. Service too, okay. I think considering we didnt get great pizza here, we should be awarded a cpl of free slices. Im shy and didnt say anything but we ate it anyway. It was also tasteless. Ive never had a bad PMH in our town but idk the product was not rotated quick enough out here I guess. Wish it was better. I went in to this location last night with my husband & we had a pretty bad experience here. We have had great service and great food at other locations, and usually I do have good service here as well but last night was a complete shock. We came in, and the cashier was clearly annoyed that we walked in. I grabbed a salad, and proceeded to walk to the pizzas. There was no pizza left, we asked for fresh slices of pizza & it seemed like it was an inconvenience to the cashier. We paid, and he messed up our order on the register, didn't give us our cups, and there was no ice in the soda machine. We asked for ice & we never got it and it was never refilled. I had to drink warm watered soda. We proceed to sit down, and I go and try to grab a fork, and he proceeds to tell me they are out of forks. I got upset because if you see me grabbing a salad and you know there's no forks, why would you not say anything??? He offered to go to chipotle for us to grab forks (super weird) however I had already left to Panda Express to grab one. It seems that this location has went downhill and is poorly managed. It was my husband's first time in this location and he already knows he's not coming back. I also want to mention, I'm pretty sure the pizza was sitting out all day & I got pretty bad food poisoning. Amazing VEGAN pizza! My team has a mix of vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores, so we ordered a couple pizzas for delivery from here and there was something for everyone. I had the vegan mt. diablo pizza which was super delicious, and they have a couple other vegan options on the menu as well. The crust is super nice and thin but still holds up well. I'd say he was right on, the pizza was good, they have around 5 different varieties out and prepared which you can order by the slice. The interior is fun, with surfing pictures and memorabilia strewn throughout. I found the service to be friendly and the overall experience was on point. The pizza style is thin crust, you can fold it over if that is your preferred approach. They also have various salads in a standup refrigerator which is adjacent to the line where you will order. There is no beer/alcohol to compliment the pizza, but they do have a variety of soft drinks, including a soda machine which has the prerequisite Coke products you would expect. read more

I'm pretty bummed by tonight's experience. I come here quite often and I'm usually greeted with a hello or at least friendly staff. Tonight's staff acted like they did not want to be there, no eye contact, and basically no friendly service. Today I ordered my usual slice and salad and after paying, I asked if I could have my soda cup for the meal deal. The young man at the cash register never made eye contact with me and told me I should have mentioned that before paying. He then turned away and looked towards the pizza ovens. The problem is pizza gets soggy when it sits and reheating it doesn't solve the problem to the bottom of the crust. It was still soggy and more greasy because it sits for however long. We have been waiting so long to get Pizza My Heart! Jo Jo who works here was so friendly and helpful! She really made my daughters day as she was craving the cheese pizza! (She ended up eating 2 of them) I missed the deluxe chicken and bacon pizza - I mean bacon on pizza?! Yes! Missed it. Did I mention that Pizza my heart has the best ranch dressing?! It's my favorite!! We also go the pepperoni and sausage pizza which was really good. My BFF got the Big Sur as she usually does and a Caesar salad. She comes here at least once a week. This was my first time trying PMH, and I felt super underwhelmed. Service- was great, we were helped out immediately and the girl was nice and helpful. The only star was mainly for the decent service. Cleanliness- it was super dirty, definitely needed a sweep and to wipe tables between customers because there were a lot of crumbs and toppings left over the tables and the seats Pizza- I liked that you can buy by the slice but the options were very mediocre *Mt Diablo- I didn't expect it to be a sweet pizza, I thought the peppers gave it a very sweet caramelícese flavor but I just was expecting a more savory pizza. I guess it felt misleading. I liked that it was a thin crust pizza but because they have pizzas in the window and you pick them and then they get reheated it felt like I was eating left overs because it was hot pizza not FRESH pizza. Overall, I don't think I'd come back. I'm assuming that because it's a chain they all taste like this so I can't say I'd recommend to a friend either. read more

Better customer service for one thing! If you say you're a manager of the establishment (Kevin) then you should be the one to show other employees what good customer service looks like. If someone asks for something specific and it's actually apart of your menu it should not be that hard to accommodate especially if it's not sold out. You should not make a customer feel as if asking for something specific, that they have to pay for and the establishment offers it, feel like they don't know what they are talking about. No one enjoys leaving a poor review for a company, but when someone is trying to speak to you and you continue to brush off the situation instead of owning up to it- then a review is needed. Again the pizza is good but the customer service for some employees could definitely use some polishing. read more

We usually get through DoorDash and delivery and quality has never been an usually from this location. Between my husband and I, we usually order 2 medium pizzas on a Friday night. This is the perfect amount for dinner and lunch the next day! Our favorites are: BIG SUR: classic choice if you like combination pizzas. I love the whole garlic cloves. Sorry vampires! MANRESA: this is my husband's go-to choice because he prefers who sauce pizzas over red sauce. Love the chunks or ricotta on top. This is also a great vegetarian option. FIGGY PIGGY: get this if you like sweet and savory items! Figs provide a jammy sweetness that is balanced by the smoked bacon crumbles. If you have leftovers, store the pieces wrapped in plastic wrap or foil. I reheat in the oven uncovered at 400F for ~10 minutes...this gets the cheese all gooey again but doesn't make the crust hard. read more

A popular pizza chain in the Bay Area- I recently discovered them by trying out their vegetarian pizzas. Got the pesto pizza and another one which was chock full of vegetables. The meat here is not halal. The pesto pizza was delicious. The veggie one not so much. I wish there was more cheese in both the pizzas and they had stuck the veggies to the pizza - they kept falling out. But a nice place overall and I'm excited to try their other places. read more

I lived in San Mateo years ago and it was my go-to pizza place. So I quickly placed an order and - they were too busy to take an order. I kept trying. They're popular. For a reason. The restaurant is clean and provides ample seating aside from the busy lunch or dinner rush. If the restaurant is full, you can find plenty of seating outside too. The parking lot is large; so, you can always find spots nearby. Because of the easy parking situation, we prefer this location over the one closer to home (in Palo Alto). Best of all, you can find dessert next door at Yogurtland, Jamba Juice or Panera Bread. TIP: Take advantage of the slice + t-shirt deal. Well these guys didn't skip a beat when I needed to order 35 pizzas. Not only were they extremely helpful and kind but had the order ready exactly at the time I wanted to pick up the order. (I know this may come as a shock, but large orders take up space and can't trump other orders so sometimes there is a delay, which is inevitable). I ordered 20 cheese, 10 pepperoni and 5 veggie, all double cut and again, perfection. The staff helped me to my car, loaded the pizza up and when I arrived at the kids school these pizzas didn't last long. We had about 5 pizzas left over, which I'd rather have extra than be short. I love coming to this location, always clean, always delicious and most always smiling faces. There was a snafu with DoorDash for a delivery order for a party I was hosting where DoorDash claimed the order was delivered but nothing was received. I was a bit panicked with all the hungry guests and no food but the PMH supervisor on duty handled it professionally with a customer-centric and problem solving attitude. Man this pizza was deelish! The girls at the register are really sweet. I came in to eat twice and both times the food was great but delivery of the food needs some work. I ordered 2 pizzas and when the first one was done, I didn't hear them call my name but did for the second one. They didn't give me both pizzas so I thought it still wasn't ready. Waited too long before asking if there was a problem with my order (I was starving) and the cook looked at me like I was crazy. Told me he called my name a long time ago and it was sitting on top of the oven. Also, the soda machine was not working properly and only gave a few options when usually there are a ton.
