I had honestly never even heard of Pizza Guys until sometime last year when I saw this place on my way back home from work as well as receiving a coupon from them. After looking them up, I couldn't believe how many locations they had in California no less the Bay Area. I decided to finally use my coupon one night when I was craving pizza. Before I started writing my review, I spent some time looking through the other reviews to figure out why I seem to be the one lone wolf with having a mediocre experience with this place. I do have some theories, which I will touch on a little later in my review. I need to say that, as it is, I'm not a fan of American pizza and tend to have a negative bias towards pizza chains. Therefore, this place is already facing an uphill battle with impressing me. I got the half and half with Mediterranean and Buffalo Ranch with a side of potato poppers. I will say that the poppers (while definitely just refried) were tasty and something I haven't seen as opposed to the normal jalapeno poppers. The pizza was okay in terms of standard American pizza fare but was definitely not amazing. As Don K (if you have nothing better to do, scroll through the reviews to see his review) put it, if you are a pizza lover like him and myself, then this pizza is definitely not premiere. I will say that the pizza here is definitely better than some other chains such as Mountain Mike's and pretty competitive in terms of pricing. I personally think that's the reason for all the positive reviews. I would definitely come here over Domino's, Mountain Mike's, or Pizza Hut but as the old analogy goes... it's like being the thinnest kid at fat camp. Unfortunately, I write my reviews in absolute terms and not conditionally else I could envision giving it five stars like the other Yelpers. If I'm having a party and need a batch of some quick and cheap pizzas then I might come back but otherwise I'm good. I also know that the owner is probably going to comment and want to assure him that my review is not a reflection of the franchise itself nor the staff by any means but rather Pizza Guys as a whole. read more

I didn't realize this pizza place opened on el Camino. It's right next to state of mind. If you look on their website, there are plenty of specials and coupons. We ordered a three topping large and chose the creamy pesto sauce with grilled chicken , artichoke hearts and anchovies. Pizza was delicious and very generous with the toppings. I got a text alert when the pizza was ready for pickup. Pickup was quick and efficient and the person working there was friendly and provided cheese and peppers as well as paper plates for us. Located in a small strip mall with off street parking on busy el Camino. Will definitely be back to try some other combinations. read more

I am very pleasantly surprised by Pizza Guys! This is the only Pizza Guys I've ever been to (so far?). I think this location is new; I came bc I saw their fb ad. There are many sorts of pizza I enjoy: Japanese fusion, Indian fusion, deep dish, New York, Neapolitan. (This is not an exhaustive list, just the ones I go for.) But one thing I miss sometimes is a good American takeout/delivery style pizza. Frankly, the American takeout/delivery options near me aren't very good. I very occasionally get them out of hope and nostalgia, but prices are increasing, ingredients are disappearing, and overall they're not very good -- if they were, the rest wouldn't matter so much. I've frequently wished there were an option to pay an extra $5 or even $10 and have them pile on the toppings, the way places used to by default when I was a teenager and in college. These days, even if I pay for double toppings and sometimes TRIPLE cheese, I get this thin anemic pizza with barely any cheese in the inch or two between individual toppings. I just don't understand why, even after a pretty hefty upcharge! THE TOPPINGS HERE ARE SO GENEROUS -- I didn't even pay for extra. And their prices are in-line with everyone else's! And like everyone else, they have a website where you can see their specials! Basically, bc of the profusion of toppings, it ends up being a better pizza for less -- at least for those of us who like a LOT of toppings! This seems to be a takeout/delivery place -- it's a tiny shop in the same small plaza as State of Mind, I think there's a table in the parking lot. Parking can be tight; at certain hours, you might end up parking on the side street or a block down. But IMO, totally worth it for my classic American takeout/delivery style pizza cravings! read more

Salads are good. You get a free 2 liter soda with a 25 dollar purchase. There isn't anywhere to eat inside so Be aware of that, but there are tables outside. The combo is good and the Hawaiian, and they are willing to do 1/2 and 1/2. The people are kind and personable. All good! read more

They are in palo alto, i'm 4 miles away in menlo park and i'm out of the delivery range? you gotta be kidding me. Also their website is hot trash. Tried to sign up for an account because they don't even let you look at the menu without doing that, and their own password requirements are wrong. Must have uppercase,lowercase,number, and one of whatever random symbols they chose, and have 8 characters. I've had their pizza a few times now, and it's been consistently solid every visit. The pizza is spot on and super flavorful, honestly, on par with some higher-end pizza spots. It comes out hot, the crust isn't overly doughy, and everything tastes balanced, which is exactly what you want from a great pizza shop. When I pulled to Pizza Guys , I was seriously asking myself, why didn't I just order pizza from next door ( State of Mind Pizza) for roughly $4 more, you can get a one topping large pizza which has a superior crust and much better sauce and toppings ... you know the dough is made fresh. Unfortunately, as a franchisee, you have use the dough that the franchiser company gives you. I was debating whether to leave a review or not but after seeing this was a 5 star place on yelp, I was excited to try but to be honest, the pizza in my opinion is not 5 stars. Maybe for some people, it's 5 stars compared to other franchised pizza places ( Little Caesars, Dominos, MOD pizza , Pieology ). I think if I was going for a pizza from a well known chain, then I'd say get Pizza My Heart, then Mountain Mikes. Very good pizza place for takeout pizza. It reminds me of the Papa Murphy's on Middlefield many years ago, but with the pizza cooked in-house. I rarely write Yelp reviews, trying to be better about it! OMG. I wish I had found this place sooner! I work at an office in Palo Alto, and every once in a blue moon I crave pizza. I also rarely eat pizza because I am weirdly picky about the consistency, and it's also a rare treat for me. I have tried various places around the area and in neighboring towns. My colleague and I split a small half-and-half pizza. She had bacon and artichoke hearts as toppings, and I just added jalapenos to my half. The regular crust was PERFECTION - perfectly crisp but not overly done, and not at all floppy (especially given that we had to drive back to the office first). Flavor was great; we got the pink sauce. Later this afternoon I told my colleague... I need to write a review, I enjoyed it that much!
