Came in for dinner with my nephew and had a great experience. We ordered a few slices--combination, sausage, and pepperoni & sausage--and everything was fresh and flavorful. We've also ordered their large pizzas to go in the past, and those have been just as satisfying. We used one of their stamp cards for a free drink, and the guy at the counter kindly let me choose between a fountain drink or a bottled one (I went with the bottle--just tastes better!). My nephew has a special connection to this place--his kindergarten class once came here to make their own pizzas, and he still talks about it. It's really great to see that kind of community involvement. He absolutely loves the pizza here, and it's easy to see why. Quick service and decent pizza. Parking is hard to find and requires payment. This place was clean and basically empty when I got here. They have fresh salads and a soda machine. They're able to heat up the slices for you. I'd rather eat this pizza than Costco's pizza and consider this pizza to be a good fast food pizza alternative that is better than Round Table Pizza. read more

We decided to venture out of our usual pizza spots & give this place a try. We got our food delivered in less than 30min & were exited to dig in. The cheese bread not only looks delicious but tasted just as good as it looks. The pizza looked just as good but unfortunately didn't taste as great. The issue was the dough, it was thought if that makes any sense. Perhaps the dough was over worked? On a recent visit, I discovered that while making my large Pizza, the tomato sauce is squeezed as a bead around the pizza about a 1/4-3/8 wide [like writing on a cake]. Traditionally or typically, it is poured onto the pizza and spread entirely with the ladle. I know this bc, I worked at a pizza restaurant. I asked if that is how they always have done it, and the girl replied [qestionaby] with a "yeah?" Now, if it was a confident yes, then I would figure they found a hack...but I think the pizza lacked the tomato flavor and taste. Stopped by Pizza My Heart for a second dinner with the guys recently after a delicious meal at Dash Japanese a few blocks over. Unfortunately, there wasn't a huge selection of slices at 7:45PM on a Monday but the food is always consistent. I usually go with combo or their pepperoni and sausage but all that was left was pepperoni, which was great. The slices were heated up in the oven a few minutes before being placed in a single slice box. They have some indoor tables open for seating but we opted for the tables just outside. Oh yeah, the ranch dressing here is one of the best and goes well with pizza! Friendly and quick service make Pizza My Heart a go-to place for a late night snack or even as a main meal. read more

I just placed an order for Pizza My Heart through DoorDash. Disappointing is a good way to describe my order. As you can see from the pictures, my pizza was extremely over cooked. The crust is burnt so bad it's black on the edges. I WAS excited because they had more vegan topping options. It's hard to find good vegan pizza with more topping options especially vegan meat options. The only reason it's transferred onto a baking sheet is because the pizza arrived lukewarm but that's a product of slow deliveries from DoorDash. The logic behind my rating is how burnt the crust was. The crust is a key part of what makes a pizza great. When it's this burnt it tarnishes the flavor of the toppings and even their flavors couldn't over power the taste of burnt crust. Is this a normal occurrence for Pizza My Heart? Despite living in San Mateo and having tried Pizza My Heart at other locations, I've never once actually ordered from this location before. With the CORVID-19 outbreak going on, and doing our best to support local businesses, we decided to order some pizza from this Pizza My Heart location through UberEats. Between ordering and it arriving at our door, the entire process was about 35-40mins, and it arrived still fairly warm and quite delicious. We went with two 12' Create-your-own custom pizzas, with two toppings each, which came out to $15/pizza. There's a current BOGO free promo going on, so our cost was just $15 for two pizzas! Which allowed us to give back the difference as a tip to help the driver out. For our pizzas, we went with Pineapple and Ham on one, and Pepperoni and Sausage on the other for the meat lovers in the household. Both pizzas were made perfectly, not burnt, generously loaded with toppings, and really good. Will definitely be ordering from this location at least a few more times before this shelter-in-place is over, as well as into the foreseeable future! read more

Stopped by on a weekday night and we were the only party eating outdoors. Made for a quiet and nice experience! Since we did take out, we were able to bring our own drinks! We called ahead, and the pizza took about 15 minutes from order to being ready. We got the Big Sur (40 cloves of roasted garlic, organic tomato sauce, pepperoni sausage, portabello mushroom, and green onions). According to Pizza My Heart, this pizza won first place in the 2007 west coast pizza championships! How do I sign up to be a judge for that!? Toppings were very plentiful. I really appreciated the large (3"+ wide x .5") pieces of meaty portabello mushroom. The sausage was nice and meaty, with a light fennel flavor. However, even as a garlic lover, I found the whole roasted garlic cloves overwhelmed the flavor of the other toppings-- they were roasted well and just soft enough, though. Overall, the pizza crust was a bit too soft for my liking and not quite chewy enough. I had to use both hands to support my pizza slice while I ate it. A tiny bit short of a 3.5/5 for me, but I wouldn't be opposed to coming back. read more

While in the Bay Area this week, we needed some sustenance. Our nephew recommended Pizza My Heart and we went to check it out. Upon entering, we found a surf-themed space, complete with polished vintage surfboards, and framed photos of surfers "back in the day" on the walls. They have a large collection of pre-made pizzas in different flavor combos, from which you pick a slice. They then warm it up for you, and bring it to your table. It's an okay concept, though freshly baked pizza out of the oven is superior for taste and eating enjoyment. Still, four of us got an energy boost from our respective slices, plus a beverage apiece, for a reasonable price. At 3:00 in the afternoon on a Thursday, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. We got to watch a stack of to-go boxes being built for the evening rush ahead. It passed for entertainment. ;-) Housed in an older building in downtown San Mateo, Pizza My Heart seems to enjoy a loyal following.
