    Meatball Stromboli
    Terri R.

We were at JFK just for a layover. My BF being from NY was excited to have a slice so we went to Pizza Vino. We sat at a table since the bar area was full and waited a while for a server to take our order. It's a busy, loud restaurant (it's the airport), there were available tables that were cleaned off. The server was busy rudely telling people, eating pizza if they bought it from the To Go line they have to sit on the other side. Lots of disgruntled customers. Apparently where we sat was only for ordering from her. A family of 4 with 2 small kids got up mid bites of pizza to move, along with at least 3 other tables. One said the other seating was full and she basically said too bad. One table was smart and ordered a drink, so they were able to stay and finish eating. I get it there are rules but it's not really visibly posted anywhere that I could see. The server is probably just doing her job but it's her approach. The server was ok with us since I already saw she has attitude so I was super nice to her and she was fine. I would say she was just having a bad day but I saw all the other reviews just now and I don't think that's the case. We ordered a Slice, a Slice with Pepperoni and a Meatball Stromboli. The food was awful! The crust was like cardboard, there was absolutely no taste to the pizza- sauce or cheese. How that is possible, I don't know. I kept thinking the next bite would be better, but it wasn't. The Stromboli was an embarrassment, there was barely anything in it and what was, wasn't good, neither was the crust. Having lived in NY and having pizza from all over the city, and state; there are some better than others but this was the worst. All I kept thinking was people who have heard of how great NY Pizza is and only being able to experience it here are going to be disappointed. I don't give many 1 stars but this one deserved it. Believe me, eat anywhere but here at JFK, the whole experience was bad.

I was so hungry while waiting to catch a flight which was delayed. I opted for Pizza Vino at JFK. It was OK. Pizza was a lil on the dry side. The Mimosa was good. It served the pupose of me getting a quick bite and drink.

Lady who took my order was super rude and didn't say one word to me and didn't even smile when i said hello and smiled. I wanted pizza on my lay over in New York since it is New York after all - the pizza was $7 a slice and when it came out in the box the lady just said "cheese" and threw the box on the counter. What the heck?! I would totally pass on this business solely on customer service alone but the pizza itself was large but just okay. 2 star because pizza was a good size and it did taste good.

Well I had a lot of time before my flight and I rarely will grab an actual meal before a flight but with so much time I looked at my choices and man inflation is already insane but airport inflation is worse lol Plus a lot of stuff didn't call to me but I saw this place twice ...so the second time I noticed they had a great deal of 15 bucks for large slices and a fountain drink and I went for it Pizza was decent the crust needed work on the bottom it kinda broke away oddly and the fountain drink was a small lol Service was pretty quick and the ladies working there were to the point It did the job but I may not try again if I find myself there in that terminal

Although service was friendly, and the sandwich was tasty, the side salad (which you pay extra to replace) is lackluster. The sandwich is really tasty but greasy, and the staff, although nice, is slow. Plus, I was not aloud to sit down since it is technically a "bar" and I am 20 years old.

This pizza place was highly recommended by four people. So, we had to try it. It is far from fancy. In fact, it's a bit shabby with a few tables and chairs out front and a small dining room in the back. The specialty is pizza. Not fine dining. You can get your pizza regular or square with limited toppings like pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs. Some veggies, too. No froufrou pineapple or buffalo chicken here. And you order at the counter, grab your food, and sit down. There is no table service. I got meatball on my pizza and didn't like the meatball. (I prefer chicken, pineapple, and artichoke on my pizza.) But I also shared a plain slice with my hubby and loved it. And, of course, I needed extra sauce, which was gladly provided and seemed to have a tiny kick to it. I wish Yelp offered half stars, because I truly would have given this review 4.5 stars. Since it doesn't, and hubby, the pizza king, declared it a 5-star pizza, I upped my grading. The pizza really is good with a thin and crispy crust. Service is fast and efficient, and somewhat friendly. A regular slice is $3.75 and toppings are an additional charge. But be warned, it's a cash only establishment.

They're the ultimate hosts -- warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely people. The food was fantastic from start to finish. We began with perfectly tender fried calamari served with a delicious tomato sauce. The baked clams were excellent, swimming in a buttery garlic olive oil that was perfect for dipping their homemade bread. The thin-crust pizza had a lovely sweet tomato sauce and high-quality mozzarella. The meatballs were tender and flavorful -- the meat tasted like prime beef. For our mains, both the chicken parmesan and chicken francese were outstanding, and the side of penne alla vodka was rich and excellent. We tried nearly every dessert on the menu and they were all delicious. The wine list is reasonably priced, and we enjoyed a lovely bottle with dinner. Best of all, the service was spectacular. We came with a group of 12, and with only one waitress(some addditional staff as well), she handled our entire table like a pro -- fast, efficient, and incredibly attentive the whole night. Rocco's is a true neighborhood gem. We can't wait to return and highly recommend it to everyone

Next time around, we started w drinks tried the Limonchello spritz, nice taste. They give u a bread basket & olive oil to start, not bad good to pick on. We tried the Bianca pizza to start, nice & thin w a crispy crust it was very good. Main dishes we had Cacio e Pepe nice thick sauce & noodles which are made in house & the Shrimp franchese , very good sauce great tasting shrimp, decent side salad. We managed to have room for dessert, we had a Crème brûlée/ chocolate pie, I must say interesting combo good on the crème part, really good crust & the chocolate was more on the milk chocolate side not crazy sweet this was a decent piece of cake to try. As for the restaurant not bad, big space they have a small bar area. Service was good each time, price wise typical these days a bit on the high side but doable, we enjoyed our visits.
