Terrible pizza that was ridiculously expensive and lacking in flavor. The service was horrible. Chaotic environment. Lady with purple hair yelling at people to use the kiosk that doesn't work while she selectively decides who she helps at the register. We were at JFK just for a layover. My BF being from NY was excited to have a slice so we went to Pizza Vino. We sat at a table since the bar area was full and waited a while for a server to take our order. It's a busy, loud restaurant (it's the airport), there were available tables that were cleaned off. The server was busy rudely telling people, eating pizza if they bought it from the To Go line they have to sit on the other side. Lots of disgruntled customers. Apparently where we sat was only for ordering from her. A family of 4 with 2 small kids got up mid bites of pizza to move, along with at least 3 other tables. One said the other seating was full and she basically said too bad. One table was smart and ordered a drink, so they were able to stay and finish eating. I get it there are rules but it's not really visibly posted anywhere that I could see. The server is probably just doing her job but it's her approach. The server was ok with us since I already saw she has attitude so I was super nice to her and she was fine. I would say she was just having a bad day but I saw all the other reviews just now and I don't think that's the case. We ordered a Slice, a Slice with Pepperoni and a Meatball Stromboli. The food was awful! The crust was like cardboard, there was absolutely no taste to the pizza- sauce or cheese. How that is possible, I don't know. I kept thinking the next bite would be better, but it wasn't. The Stromboli was an embarrassment, there was barely anything in it and what was, wasn't good, neither was the crust. Having lived in NY and having pizza from all over the city, and state; there are some better than others but this was the worst. All I kept thinking was people who have heard of how great NY Pizza is and only being able to experience it here are going to be disappointed. I don't give many 1 stars but this one deserved it. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. They kicked out my elderly mother while I was purchasing our food. My mom went and sat down at a table while I went to order my pizza, since we were going to order some wine and a cocktail before our flight. Lady who took my order was super rude and didn't say one word to me and didn't even smile when i said hello and smiled. I wanted pizza on my lay over in New York since it is New York after all - the pizza was $7 a slice and when it came out in the box the lady just said "cheese" and threw the box on the counter. If you can find something else, find it. Pizza Vino was all I could find near my Gate 29 and that Wednesday morning this place had supposedly run out of its breakfast calzones by 0800. So I ordered a slice of cheese ($6.25) and another slice of pepperoni ($7.50), which with a bottle of ($4.04?) water was $19.01. Any New Yorker has eaten plenty of pizza slices, many at a dollar a slice, that embarrass Pizza Vino. Pizza Vino serves up a doughey crust that really doesn't meet the definition of crust. I usually find something of recompense when reviewing, but there are no positives to be found here. The sauce was nothing special and the mozzarella cheese had no authentic oil. The grated parmesan could not rescue these slices. They are charging six, seven and eight times a dollar slice for this! There was no positive interaction with the people working at Pizza Vino. I do not believe anyone could find anything positive here. You'll spend twenty bucks at Pizza Vino and think about all the great food trucks and carts that give you a far greater experience for far less. You'll think of all the protein rich and satisfying burgers, chicken sandwiches, and breakfast sandwiches you could have had. You'll think of all the hoagies and other sandwiches you could have had. Even a bagel and lox can come in under twenty. You'll think of all you could have had at a bodega, but one stop at Pizza Vino will teach you never to return. I understand it costs more to operate at an airport, but plenty of other vendors in this corridor would be the better choice and more satisfying experience. One star read more

It could be more user friendly and let suggest the topping for the other slice. So, we order the two slice combo and added topping not knowing that it would only be for one slice. No where did it was just for the one. It was a bit of a let down. The staff was completely rude AF. We were just asking questions and they couldn't be bothered to inform us correctly but rudely said,"no." I know the staff deals with all types of people but some hospitality would be nice. Skip this place if you want a good experience here. The pizza looked nice but wasn't what I expected. The size of the two slices add up to what seems like a small personal pizza. Just ate here recently and I have to say overall the food and drinks weren't bad, although kind of pricey(it's the airport so I expect that) but the service was HORRIBLE (no smiles, no engagement, almost like they are in prison) I waited minutes to see how long it would take them to greet me and it never happened. So I said hello to one of the staff and the interaction wasn't great(as a guy who has worked in restaurants/hospitality for many years, I notice these things right away.) After a long flight, my friend and I started looking for something to eat. We saw this pizza place and thought this would be a good place to stop. You have to put your order in through a kiosk. When I tried to edit my order, it wouldn't let me and looked like we would have to do the order again from the beginning. We eventually decided on a combo thinking my friend ordered a combo with 2 cheese with extra cheese, and I ordered a combo with 2 pepperoni. It didn't mention that only one of the slices would be extra cheese and pepperoni. When I asked the lady for clarification, she was a bit rude and just gave me the food without explanation. Now, for the actual pizza, they are pretty big slices. However, they were very greasy and not that great. For the price I paid for them, I felt it was not worth it.
