One of my all-time favorite restaurants. The food is always excellent along with a excellent wine selection and great service.

The Mediterranean Branzino is flash fried and is to die for. I would've never ordered it, but the presentation is off the hook, so I thought I'd try it and I'm glad I did. From the crispy skin to the tender meat, it was extremely good. It would make a great appetizer for 4 prior to one of Pizzaioli's signature steak dinners! Came here for a nice Sunday lunch and found out they had $5 mimosas and Bloody Mary all day. It was quite empty when we walked in, and since no was attending us, we sat at the bar. They were quite understaffed and slow for the entire time we were there. On the wall, there is an extensive whiskey selection and the beers on tap are all IPA. I had a mimosa since I had too much recently, and it was like orange juice with a bit of champagne in it. I really don't know why I get those sometimes, and why I don't carry a flask around. We had to ask for bruschetta since they forgot to give us bread, and I dunno, maybe after making my own bruschetta, this one is just really salty and okay for me. The tomatoes were ripe and sweet and the bread reminded me of Di Pilla's in Rosemead, but this was a traditional loaf. I do like the bread, but just wish it were warm. I had the Chicken Tortellini al forno since the photos on Yelp looked pretty good. It was pretty dry and the tortellini were too al dente for me. Chicken breast was made pretty well and was moist.This had bits of jalapeno in it and so the taste was more prominent. He had the Vino Bianco, which had the same sauce as mine, but wasn't as spicy, more of like a soup and the flavor was perfect. I pretty much didn't even touch my dish and started drinking all the sauce from his plate with a spoon. It was very rich in seafood flavor and had a hint of white wine. The seafood itself was good as well. He came back at night with friends and one of them had ordered the same thing I had and I was told that it looked completely different. Oh well, guess it was a lunch fluke. Either way, an okay place. I might be back again, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price. read more

We've eaten at Pizzaioli several times, and I wanted to write a review to express how much we enjoy eating here. From our first visit last year to our more recent visit last night, Pizzaioli never disappoints. Our favorite waiter there is Nathan! He always makes us feel at home and provides the quickest service. We always look forward to the bruschetta which we are absolutely in love with and then of course the Frutti di Mare in the garlic olive oil! Hands down, best Italian food in town! Thank you for the quality of food and the customer service. As long as those two things exist at Pizzaioli, I will always be a customer. :) read more

Great food poor service. Water placed on table for self serve. While bread is complimentary we had to ask, while batting away fruit gnats. Food was excellent but the gnat's took from the experience and when brought to the attention of our server/manager seemed to be of no concern. "It was the time of the year". Offered gift card for future visit. Returned card, I would rather visit many other establishments who would never use this excuse. 3.5 stars. Good stuff. I didn't have the regular pasta but instead had polenta with italian sausage and eggs. More of a breakfast dish for me and it worked out great since we were there for brunch. The portions are pretty big. Their calamari was good. The prices are a little high for lunch, and the restaurant has kind of a dark and old feel but I would come back. read more

Have been going here for years.,..,I have been ill so asked my husband to call our order and pick it up. We both ordered Caesar Salads, (1) lasagna, (1) seafood diablo ( was told they do not have so they substituted Ciapino, which was ok with my husband. When my husband arrived home (25 mins away) we were missing both salads! When I called, they said they would put our name on a board to give us 2 salads next time we are in. Their website says delivery by Grub Hun, but they were unwilling to have out salads sent to us. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!! Apparently customer service means little to them. read more

This restaurant has gone through quite a few changes, maybe due to new ownership. Upon arrival, my family of 7 were seated relatively quickly, which was nice and prompt. I noticed that the tables weren't really 6 ft apart though, which was concerning. We had a very sweet waitress, but she didn't keep her mask on or wear gloves the whole time we were there. As a matter of fact, most of the waitresses there didn't have their masks on properly or gloves on while they were serving. My family and I had our masks on the whole time, and the only time we took our masks off was when we were eating. Our waitress could have noticed how important these precautions were to us and decided to put her mask on properly to make us feel more comfortable. We also noticed that when the staff were talking amongst each other, they kept pulling their masks down to communicate. This is all very disconcerting because covid is still happening and the staff should be taking every precaution to be safe for their health and for the customer's health. I was very disappointed in the lack of covid related precautions that this restaurant was taking. Food: As for the food, it just doesn't taste like it used to. I used to be so excited to come to this restaurant for the bruschetta and the vino bianco. The bruschetta was ok, but definitely isn't as tasty as it used to be. It's also not free anymore? I specifically asked one of the waiters if they still provided bruschetta and bread upon arrival. They brought it out to us, and then we noticed that it was on our tab at the end of the meal. We have no problem paying for what we ate, but when I asked if they still provided that, they should have mentioned that it wasn't complimentary anymore. The vino bianco was also just ok. The sauce was soupy and it just didn't taste like it used to. Overall, it was a bad experience. We were looking forward to a good meal with good service and we just didn't really get that. read more

First Time Review My BFFs parents come here all the time, saying how they love the food and the drink specials. I have some friends come in from out of town who wanted italian and we were in the Chino-Pomona area. I've always wanted to try this place, so we all agreed to check it out. Wow!!! No disappointment here!!! The menu items are a little on the pricier side of life, but there are gems to fit someone's college budget. This is a nice restaurant to celebrate something or bring someone to impress. Found tucked into the backside of a strip mall, I was banking on the BFFs' parents reviews to bolster my confidence in the place. Much to my surprise, the interior is that of a stand alone high end restaurant. Lots of dark wood and low lighting to set the mood. Even before you reach the front door, the waiting area has heating lamps set up and there is patio seating to take advantage of the Socal warm nights of summer. Inside there is a long bar, 10 seats (approx), we're all occupied and 2 TVs where the game was playing the GSW v OKC game 6 of the Finals. (Go OKC... sorry, not sorry... dad's from OK. Boomer! Sooner!) The room was divided into two areas: bar & dining, with the bar area having a few tables and our choice. We were greeted with a basket of sliced soft baguette & bruschetta (diced tomato in balsamic viniagrette)... delicious and this was before the took our drink orders. What we ordered: Grey Goose Martini (good, but Not in a martini glass-what!!!) Top shelf Margarita on the rocks with salt rim (yum!) Iced tea with lemon (hey... I was the driver!) Di Casa (x2): Mixed lettuce, topped with Roma tomatoes and mozzarella. Pizzaioli: Endive, arugula, dried cranberries, Gouda, cherry tomatoes, toasted pecans, walnuts, and balsamic vinaigrette. (OMG... this is so delicious!) Pollo E Tortellini: Spinach tortellini pasta stuffed with cheese, baked with chicken breast, creamy jalapeno sauce & topped with mozzarella. (Loved the jalapeño in the sauce. Has a kick, but won't knock your teeth out or numb your face. There portions are on the bigger side of happiness so pace yourself... Yay, more happiness!) Carciofo: Chicken breast sautéed with artichokes, spinach, kalamata olives, fettuccine and garlic olive oil. (This was simple, yet not. Bougie, but unassuming. Really liked it. Something to order when you want clean flavors... capiche? You get me right???) Linguine Ai Frutti Di Mare: Clams, mussels, snow crab claws, shrimp, and scallops sautéed in either an olive oil & garlic sauce (or spicy marinara) served over linguine. (This was my dish & I chose olive oil & garlic sauce. This did not disappoint. I was sopping up the sauce with whatever bread was left from the delicious bruschetta!!! I'd order that again! Tiramisu (Love! Great coffee flavor. Some Tiramisu's (sp???) I've had in the past, the coffee is very faint. It was pronounced and you knew it was a coffee dessert. The marscapone cream was thicker too, not airy and i could TASTE it... delish! I'd order this again) White chocolate Cheesecake (sadly I had only one bite, as to be polite and not eat this dessert PLUS my Tiramisu... creamy cheesecake with white chocolate, served with whipped cream and blackberries!!!) I won't lie, then place will seduce you into ordering all their yummy offerings and your wallet will be the victim. Most expensive item we ordered was my Linguine Ai Frutti Di Mare at $24. Hello, full size scallops, snow crab claws prepped for easy eating & the rest of the seafood orchestra. I was very disappointed with the linguini with clams. The clams were not on the shell which kind of tasted like canned not fresh clams and the sauce was very bland and lacked the taste of garlic and wine. The best thing was the bread and crostini and the crème brûlée. The service was ok. The Caesar's salad lacked dressing and the sliced Parmesan cheese. Was recommended by a friend and do not think I will return. It was a quite late afternoon, we were seated quickly and drink order was promptly taken. We ordered a few appetizers, one being the Rosemary potatoes, that we were told "are to die for". so I/we were extremely excited to try these... ummm, no, not what we expected, such a let down. Basically a fried potato, that is easily compared to fried spuds at any local fair or broad walk! And Rosemary? Where was it? Not on the potatoes. We ordered a few 24$ entrees, one being Lasagna and neither entree included a soup or salad, major let down. Generally, at Italian restaurants Lasagna is the one of the least expensive item on menu! Service is very poor. This is unfortunate because the food is amazing. Came on a Tuesday evening at 5:30pm and waited over twenty minutes for someone to even acknowledge us. There were only 14 people total in restaurant. Owners or Management were to busy drinking at the bar with guests to notice us and the one older lady that was serving did everything she could to ignore us. Because my last review was deleted because it supposedly didn't involve my personal experience with the establishment I'm here to beef up MY experience. I have personally been here with my family on several occasions this WAS the a family Italian go to spot UNTIL my parents were treated with such disrespect by a female manager! I will never dine or recommend again! The quality in the food has declined but the price hasn't. This last time the dish was good for me but 5 of us dined on Friday and 2 of us who shared the same seafood dish were sick the next day. We called as a warning, with no expectations. A female manager accused my father of not telling the truth and was defensive about being so clean! FYI to management food poisoning doesn't mean the kitchen is dirty! I have come here twice for lunch after a business meeting. The guys i come here with work in the area and this is one of their favorite places. Most of the staff always recognize them. I think the food here is excellent. Once you sit down they always serve you some soft bread with a chopped tomato brushetta (probably not spelling it right). THe first time i came here i had to meatball sandwich. What really impressed me about the dish was the fried potato slices that comes with the sandwich. It has a nice crunch to it and is seasoned very well with some type of herb (I think it was rosmary). Today i had the seafood linguine. Probably one of the best ive had. They give you a good amount of seafood in the dish (clams, mussels, shrimp, crab claws, and scallops) and its all decent size not like the stuff they serve at buca di beppo. I had it with the spicy marinara. It has a little bit of kick to but in a nice way, not too overpowering. Portion sizes are generous. The wait staff is very friendly and they come by and refill your drinks often. Overall good service. read more

The food is great, they give tons of bread (probably more than my fair share) and were very friendly. However, the service is incredibly slow even when it's not busy, for that I just can't give too many stars! Great place to grab an Italian meal. This is a family run restaurant and they make you feel at home. The walls are decorated with caricatures of their regular guests. Nicole was our server and she was very attentive and informative about the menu choices. Right when you sit down free bread and bruschetta were served. Both my friend and I ordered the special of the day - Chilean sea bass with spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. Arrived at 6pm when I checked in I was asked if I had made a reservation, hostess than told me table inside are booked but I could wait for a table outside for 30 minutes, I said yes she took my number and I waited, while I was waiting I could see table available in the patio area , I kept waiting, finally after 30 minutes the hostess came over and told me they have a table ready for me, after sitting down a party of 7 arrived with no reservation hostess gave them the option of sitting in side or outside I don't think this is good customer service judging on people I was out with my wife and son I spent 120.00 dollars but I guess I will go maybe to Beverly Hills next time Too bad food was really good customer service not good won't come back again read more

I came here with my company to celebrate my birthday. I think the service was pretty good. They gave me a cheesecake at the end of my dinner but I was too full to finish it. In general, besides the great service they have this place is pretty averagely good. The lighting is pretty dim so it was kind of had a romantic setting. Before 6 it's not that busy. I went after work which was around 4 and it was pretty empty. But it starts getting a little busier around 6. I had the clam chowder and the ravioli with red sauce. The clam chowder was pretty good. It's not like those ones where it tasted watery and no clams. I tasted the clams in the clam chowder. Still not as good as the ones in San Francisco but it's still pretty good for SoCal. As for the ravioli I think it was averagely good too. Didn't have a burst of flavor but it wasn't bad, just ok. read more

The first time I came to this restaurant was around 1996-1997 when I lived in chino hills. . I wasn't sure about it because of the location but 20+ years later and it's still one of my favorites, even though I moved out of the area. I've never had a 'meh' meal here; always delicious and service impeccable. I went Friday night and their accommodations for Covid are good. Just getting the bruschetta and a dinner salad is a treat. I've recommended this restaurant to many people and looking forward to my next visit. It's worth the drive from Redlands/Yucaipa. read more

Only getting a two star 1 star for the good service and the second star for the good tasting beer... The food was horrible, I have been here several of times with my mom and has been amazing although this last time will be my last time I hate wasting money and horrible food... Planned a date for my husband and I, I raved about how amazing the food was wow was I wrong!!!!! We both were sooo starving we sort of tried to eat what we ordered, I mean tried the pictures I took was how far we got before we paid and left, we didn't send it back because that is embarrassing so just sucked it up. I ordered the seafood pasta which came with mussels shrimp clams scallops it was just awful. I have had it before and was my favorite sooooooo amazing!!! But this time was sooo fishy it was hard to eat, and don't get me wrong I love fish sushi seafood hints why I ordered it, but this was just awful ;( no taste what so ever on the sauce (it was water not a spicy marinara like it was suppose to be) the mussels had no meat and were like muuuush I only ate one because it was soooo bad The clams were not any better My husband order chicken garchofi (not sure on spelling) the chicken tastes like it was the frozen kind in a bag and was cooked so fast before thawing that it was rubbery didn't have much flavor besides a sour taste to his pasta yuck... I have been going to Pizzaioli for quite sometime and the food is always amazing, I've never had a issue with service or the food until these last few days. Yesterday I walked in to order food and was told by a server who was extremely rude that the kitchen was closed so I said "ok, thank you" and walked out. I went back the following night at 7:15ish to place a order and the same server was there and was very rude to me once again when I asked to place a order. At one point I had to tell her she didn't need to be so sassy. I moved to Chino in March 2018 and in doing so, I was looking for a new restaurant to call my own. After speaking with a new co-worker, who is now a dear friend, she gave me her personal recommendation which was Pizzaioli. She would rave about the bruschetta and gave high marks about the Vino Bianco. After a while passed, I found myself and a friend finally visiting Pizzaioli and ordering the same dishes as my friend recommended and I absolutely fell in love! The bruschetta was a nice twist with fresh soft bread versus the traditional toasted bread and the basil with the chopped tomatoes and balsamic mix was amazing. The true winner was the Vino Bianco. The nice creamy, silky, velvety sauce with tiny diced jalapenos was to die for! I would often find myself later bragging to friends, family and loved ones that the sliced "Good Fellas Style" garlic was an amazing touch and the flavor/texture was perfect. I would often say that Pizzaioli could "bank millions $$$" if they could bottle the sauce up and sell it on the open market! In addition to the other dishes I would later try @Pizzaioli, I also loved the red wine selection and the flexible option of BYOW (bring your own wine) for a small corking fee. This restaurant ended up being my go to place for any type of occassion. I could honestly say I went at least once, if not twice a month, for the next 2 years. Then the pandemic hit. Of course, everyone on this globe was affected. I get it. I missed going to my favorite restaurant for a very long time as I'm sure every other human being did so. So, as soon as it was reasonable and safe to return, I did so with an open mind, and open heart. I have been back to Pizzaioli about 5 times since California reopened it's restaurants. I believe 3 times were for brunch and I must say, the Sausage and Polenta is my new favorite choice to order on a nice lazy Sunday afternoon. However, the Vino Bianco has been a huge letdown for me. Gone was the silky smooth cream sauce, only to be replaced by a thin white sauce which leaves one questioning what was the direction the Chef was aiming for? The tiny diced jalapenos were completely invisible and that small bit of heat in the back of your throat was missing. Finallly, the "Good Fellas Style" sliced garlic was replaced with tiny infrequent niblets of garlic. The sauce was no longer the star I was yearning for. Thin and bland. What happened? Did you change the recipe? Is it lost, misplaced, or ransomed? I really want to come back and try one more time, yet I am worried I will experience the same let down and finally begin searching for a new restaurant to "call my own". Thoughts? read more

They canceled my rehearsal dinner 1week before for 50 people. They sent an email instead of calling. Extremely unprofessional and no concern for anyone else. Said they thought I should be able to find somewhere else. They stated staffing problems but opened the day after my scheduled event....how convenient. I am of Italian heritage so it is difficult to find an Italian restaurant worth going to. Last time we did pick-up, but their service is of the highest caliber. We mentioned it to the server but we were told "they have had some treatments". Well I think they need to find the source of the problem. Pros: Prices weren't too bad, the food had great flavor. The waitstaff was friendly. the bread was tasty and had a great topping to spoon onto it. Cons: my oricchette pasta had a lot of pieces stuck together, which was a little disappointing. Also the food was kind of slow to come out even though the restaurant was empty. End result: I would come back here if I was in the area. Food was good, people were nice. These people are ridiculous. Pictured is a pint of their meat sauce they sell for nearly $13.00. For that price, you would think it was amazing, but it is not. It is mediocre . If they have the audacity to rob their customers for sauce, I can't imagine what they charge for a decent dinner and wonder about the quality of those dishes. read more

I just had a cesar salad and it was very tasty and delicious. The waitress is so sweet and helpful. My husband are eating outside and the ambiance is wonderful. Halloween is this Monday but this place is ready for the night of hungry eaters. My husband ordered Cioppino and it arrived at our table looking wonderful and tasting delicious. I ordered a cauliflower crust pizza with prosciutto, mozzarella. dates and arugula greens on top. Very very delicious. I will be coming back to try other items from the menu. read more

Very disappointed today with our takeout order. This had been our favorite Italian Restaurant for many years. I ordered angel hair with shrimp. which is normally delicious. Pasta was way over cooked and kinda mushy. Tasted like they used butter instead of olive oil and whole dish had no taste. We have always loved Pizzaioli and would normal give it 4 stars but tonight's meal was awful. We ordered bruschetta and never received it (the waitress did offer to give it to us for free after our meal had already arrived but we turned down her offer). I was excited when I saw an octopus salad on the menu but was disgusted when it arrived. They use frozen octopus. It was chewy and had some gelatinous pieces which made it non edible. My husbands lasagna was good. It is definitely worth going to the restaurant but do NOT order the octopus salad. read more
