Tho it needed a few improvements when I got there. People sitting , waiting for a LONG time. And it wasn't busy . A few tables . . . Service wasn't great when I went. The pizza oven was a small one that seemed to have been booked up by an online order pickup, so I had to wait a long awhile. Service was confused on tables and wasn't paying attention . The wait was a while's . A few next to me got frustrated before I even did on timing . One had to finally go up and ask for their check that a different server looked up (the original one just left) , and the other next to me was just frustrated but patient ( I didn't tell them that I saw their pizza in a box then taken out on a platter to serve ). The communication between kitchen and server is pretty poor.. . People were walking in and out of the kitchen that was in front of the dining area like a fun coworker gathering while tables were waiting for a long time for even drink orders . Oof. Had a fun meal here on a Saturday early evening. We chose to dine in their covered dining area outdoors. They have plenty of heaters. Tried the Autumn pizza, it was different with squash on it, it was very good. The Caesar salad delicious as well. Wait staff was very nice, helpful and always checked on us. Busy warm October night. Entire town is crammed with tourists. Ate at the outside parklet on the street. The server greeted us almost immediately. We downloaded the menu from the table QR code. Water served quickly. We ordered the seasonal pizza (slices of squash, some pancetta, drizzle of a thick & sweet balsamic vinegar) , Cesar salad, 3 glasses of wine. Overall, good food. We came to eat tonight and it was 45° outside. We were sat right next to the door that was left open. I closed it once, then 1 minute later the staff looked right at me and opened the door and place the door stop to keep the door open. I closed it again, and they didn't same thing. Let's start with the ambiance, I was greeted by a very pleasant server, and of course I opted to sit outside with Lia. While the outdoor seating was comfortable, the only issue I had was that these parklet styled seats were literally on the street and it was a bit unnerving sitting there and hearing vehicles roar past you literally with what felt like inches behind your back . Most diners will probably not have this experience, because they will more than likely opt to sit inside. Score for dining ambiance, 7 out of 10. So beyond that, let's talk about the food. I ordered the mushroom pizza and the guava cider, and both were very good, I would give these an 8 out of 10. I would admit that when I first tasted the pizza, the flavor was slightly offputting, not sure why... It was after all a white pizza and maybe it was the garlic cream sauce, or something else that threw me off. However, less than an hour later, it was all gone, so I guess it wasn't all that bad . As I finished eating, they cleared my table, offered me dessert, which, of course I declined and within minutes later got my check. Service throughout was good, very attentive...although, the fact that I was literally finishing my last slice of pizza while the server put the check on the table. It felt slightly awkward, even though she said, "no rush." I would think in hospitality etiquette, that would be considered a faux pas. Overall, the service was great, I wouldn't give it a perfect score, so maybe 8 out of 10. So that would give us an overall score of 7.6 out of 10...would go again read more

Wandered Healdsburg and decided we were craving pizza and saw this place. First off the place is beautiful inside with great outdoor seating. The priciest is reasonable considering the location. The quality of food exceeded my expectations though I wish there was a tad more variety in the pizza department. We got the flatbread with olive oil to start and pepperoni and margarita pizza Napolitana (round and wood fired / the best way to go) and the lasagna. The lasagna STOLE the show. Not a lot of red sauce so I was skeptical, but man the flavors in it were amazing. We will go back especially for that dish. We were floored by the level of service. Darci served us and was top notch. Not only was she extremely friendly and made great recommendations but she was so attentive to our table. The bathroom has a baby cockroach in it ( this happens when there is an infestation, you only see babies when the nest is full). The squash and corn pizza was the most disgusting pizza I have ever had, everything on it tasted old. The service was subpar our server offered no solution when we expressed our discontent with the pizza and was generally rude. When trying to get her attention she actively ignored us to continue talking to another server and did not check on our table unless we got her attention (which was a hard thing to do). I pass by this restaurant often, but it is so populated with tourists that I've never had a meal there. My wife and I drove by on a Monday evening and noticed that it wasn't crowded at all and there was parking, so we decided to give it a shot. We were seated right away and the wait staff was very attentive. We got our menus and drinks immediately. Right off the bat, the menu has a lot of items that sound amazing. We decided to order a few of the most popular dishes to try, and we were definitely not disappointed. We started with the lemon Parmesan Brussel sprouts. I'm normally not one who enjoys Brussel sprouts, but let me tell you, these ones are to die for. They are roasted to perfection, and the combination of Parmesan and lemon really complement each other perfectly. I highly recommend them as a complement to any main dish that you order. For our main courses, my wife ordered the wood fired pepperoni pizza, and I ordered the herb roasted chicken panino. The pizza is, hands down, some of the best pizza I've had in Sonoma County. The sauce is made with San Marzano tomatoes, which brings out that bright tomato flavor and really makes a difference. They use real mozzarella and fresh basil as well. Wood fired to perfection, but not too charred like you see at some places. Delicious! The Panini has grilled chicken breast and bacon with fontina, red onions, pesto, and aioli. I was skeptical to try because I do not like mayo, and the aioli made it look like it had a lot of mayo on it. But I gave it a shot anyways, and the combination of garlic aioli and pesto was on point! If you are a fan of strong, bold, flavors definitely give this sandwich a go. It comes with fries, which I recommend upgrading to truffle fries because they complement the garlic flavor of the sandwich really well. Our first experience at Pizzando was a hit, and we will definitely be back to try more dishes, and dessert. You get a lot of food and it's not pricey at all. We're locals, and have been coming here for years. Eggplant parm is usually great, but this week it was half the size it normally was, and the focaccia was the size of a bagel, while it's normally a healthy size fluffy bread. Then we're waiting for the bill, and they didn't bring it, so we finally went up to pay and the POS was down. After over 20 minutes sitting at our table waiting, not being offered any extra drinks/dessert, (good customer service says you at least offer something while we wait) they finally had us come inside to pay the bill. The food met our expectation of being inventive, delicious, hot as well as promptly served hot. BTW if you want the pizza "thin crust" you need to be specific/ask. Advice; skip the tapas places, too touristy... have a nice pizza with salad. We ate outside in the parklet set up during Covid and still being used for outdoor dining. My husbands chair leg fell into a hole where the wood decking had worn away. We brought it to our waitpersons attention and were told the staff had repeatedly told the manager but nothing was being done. My caprese sandwich was all bread, watery, and with no discernible olive oil or flavor to give it any interest or authenticity. It came with a huge salad which was actually fine. A complete sanitation program can help keep flies to a minimum by eliminating the food and water sources flies need to survive. We asked for the pizza to be extra crispy it came out soggy. They tend to make their pizzas sweet putting warm honey or sweetened goat cheese. OOdd combination. The pasta bolognese was watery and didn't have any complexity to the sauce. The wine was good though. It's also a resturant to take kids. The atmosphere was to loud with parents ignoring their kids as they stood on chairs and played with each other and their food. With great other options for Italian food in Healdsberg I'd avoid this place unless you have a group of kids and don't care about the food and just want to hang out where the resturant dosent care how noisy you are. Went here craving the Oso Buco. I chose to sit in the small bar because I was solo and didn't want to be near families with their kids. There was only one couple in the bar and the bartender was talking to them so I waited. Then he started talking about basketball etc. etc. while I sat there waiting for acknowledgement. Finally, I got up, walked 5 feet to the bar and asked for a menu. He kept talking to the other people and after a few minutes he finally came over and took my drink order. Then he left after a waitress asked him if he wanted another table in the restaurant area. I waited and waited. Never got my drink and didn't see him again. Stopped in for dinner after a show at the Raven Theater without a reservation. Staff was quick to seat us and get us started with water and menus. Waitress was very attentive taking our appetizer order right away. The calamari was very good (not fried which I really enjoy). While we ate that, she took our dinner order - shrimp scampi and lasagna. This is where we were disappointed. My scampi arrived and looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for several minutes. Then we waited....no lasagna. After 5-7 mins, I got the waitress' attention and asked where his dinner was and was told a few more minutes - it was in the oven. It came out a couple minutes later. The waitress was extremely apologetic even though it wasn't her fault. This is a kitchen failure - poor planning. Flavor wise, both dishes were just ok - nothing special. The manager came to our table a couple of times but never said anything about the issue and offered us nothing for our inconvenience.
