We had two pizzas - one prosciutto and arugula and one pepperoni. Both were amazing and eaten up in record time by our little family.

Holy balls, this is a great pizzeria!! The pesto chicken calzone was the best calzone I have ever had. It is massive and I somehow managed to wolf it down because of the astounding flavor. I tried Pizzeria 22 last night for the first time! Hands down...This authentic Napoli style pizza is the best pizza I've ever had. From it's perfectly thin,soft, yet crispy crust to its whole made sauces and fresh mozzarella....any topping will leave you enticed for more. My wife and I wrote a fairly negative reviews of Pizza 22 earlier this year and recently found that it was "filtered" by Yelp. They claim that a their system flagged it as fake. Here is the review again: "I have had better Neapolitan pizza in Seattle. We ordered the Margarita 22 as it is usually a good indication of how well the pizza is made. In this case, the crust was overcooked on the edges with an unpleasant burnt taste and not the smokey char that should come from a wood fire pizza. The center of the pizza was soggy and fell apart as it was moved from the serving dish to the plate. The sauce was o.k. but nothing special and tasted flat without any zip. Also they didn't slice the pizza for you and didn't provide a decent cutting utensil - that is not a huge deal but a pet peeve." read more

My first time visiting this adorable pizza place was filled with good memories, which brought me back again and again. I walked in with zero knowledge of this place and was pleasantly surprised. It was right before the dinner rush started that myself and my three friends walked into the place and (luckily) got a table. The service was fast, friendly and the atmosphere was fun. There is a legit woodfire stove and you can see the pizzas going in and coming out. The owner has been there everytime I have been there and you can tell that he knows what he is doing. The pizza is my favorite in Seattle -- all of Seattle, not just West Seattle. The prices are reasonable and everyone seems to be happy there. On my first visit, a guy at the tables next to us bought us the clams appetizer, telling us that "These are the best clams you will ever have!" He was right. This place will not disappoint. And the dessert, the wood fired smores, OHMYGOD! Do get those if you save room, its delicious. The only unfortunate thing about this place is that it is hard to get a table. Unless you go early, this place can get busy and does not have many tables for the volume of business I have seen them experience. My husband & I came here for Happy Hour recently, a 2nd visit for us. Both visits have been great! Happy Hour is from 4-6pm and offers pizza's @ $5.00, and drinks @ a discount as well. The pizza's are true to Italy, a thin crust with just the right amount of toppings (not over done), and they're cooked in a wood-fired oven which was also imported from Italy. We both have spent time there & this is as close to Italian pizza as it gets. We had great service from the bartender, who btw, makes a mean Manhattan. The space is small & intimate, very much like dining in an Italian pizzeria. They offer chili flakes, but their homemade chili oil is a great topper for those who love a bit of heat on their pizza. I've been to Pizzaria 22 several times. The pizzas are some of the best around. The salads are big and good. I'd bump the review up to 4 or 5 stars but for the noise level. Both rooms are way too loud. Last time I was there I could barely hear the couple we were with. Go for the food during off hours or get it to go. During busy times it's just way too loud. read more

Fun little spot in W. Seattle. I heard great things are really wanted to love this place. The service was fun and attentive (although a little unorganized). Wine/beer selection is great. We had the meatballs and a couple of salads to start. The meatballs were the low point of the night. Zero flavor and a very weird/soft texture. The caesar was really tasty but seriously drenched in dressing. I enjoyed the pizza but think that it could have been way better if they were simply using better quality ingredients. This is my favorite pizza in the world! No questions. I always get the Al Pepperoni and add goat cheese and red onion. I do love Tony's in San Francisco also. Gotta show respect, but Pizzeria 22 is right there with em. Everything about this pizza is perfect. The texture, the flavors, the presentation. Crust is amazing. Crunchy and chewy. From our very first visit to Pizzeria 22, we have been treated so well that we just keep coming back. Carl was our server/bartender the first night. He was working really hard and was still very friendly and attentive. Our pizza arrived in 5 minutes. There is a fabulous proper wood stove. This really is our favorite pizza in Seattle. We are slowly working our way through the menu which is difficult because we keep wanting what we've already as it is so delicious. Carl and Jessie are always working hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. Even though we love the food, we wouldn't keep going back if it weren't for the service. There are a lot of choices in Seattle. Both Carl and Jessie are worth coming in for. Both excellent bartenders as well. Also they have this really lovely chili oil that I've become addicted to. It is Carl's recipe and he told us how he makes it. It takes ages. And as I don't have a wood oven, it wouldn't be the same at home. Fortunately they sell it! Even the bottle is adorable. I highly recommend this restaurant! It is small and very busy on the weekends, but worth the wait. Weeknights are much calmer. read more

Watch out! I was adopted by Sicilans who owned a restaraunt (from Chicago)..I was very impressed with the food here. The service was great (I suspect the owner was my bartender) and he was very humble and obviously proud of his food. Rightfully so! The pizza is amazing! Thin and perfect crust and a POW! of delicious flavor without a huge mess of toppings.I also sampled the mushroom appetizer. That was amazing as well.They have a lovely roasted garlic cheese filling and come simmering in marinara..YUM! I decided to try one of their home created fresh juice coctails. I dont remember the name, but it was fresh squeezed grapefruit juice,bacardi,a liquer and their own special recipe cinnamon syrup.Absolutely Fabulous!! I also had the pleasure of a pint of an East coast local beer called Genny or Genesse. It went well with the food and all the while I could feel a strong sense of family here... If you are a' foodie' then this is the place for you. If you like cold pizza, salads that could kill you and horrific service, this is the place for you. This was a restaurant I have loved in the past. Celebrated my 40th birthday party here, lots of date nights here, have recommended it to many, many people here in West Seattle. I will NEVER go here again. You have lost my business and I will tell everyone to go to Mio Posto (which I hear is amazing) down the street. Heck, you'd get better customer service from Sbarro in a mall food court. I ordered a pizza and salad through grub hub tonight. Pizza was delivered 40 minutes late, was cold and they sent the wrong salad. When I called Pizzeria 22, I was told it wasn't their fault and I needed to call Grub Hub. They also told me the pizza was sitting there for 30 minutes waiting to be picked up. Do they not have any pride on what they serve? I explained how frustrated I was that my pizza was completely cold and that they sent the wrong salad. On top of that, the romaine on the salad was pink and wilted...and it's caesar salad which I am allergic to because of the anchovies. The young guy who answered the phone was very nice and tried talking with the "manager" of the restaurant. I could hear their entire conversation. The "manager" (sounded like an older guy) did not care about the situation at all. He didn't have the courtesy to even get on the phone...instead he sounded like an a-hole to this poor kid and didn't offer an apology for the wrong salad that THEY sent. They blamed the cold pizza on the delivery guy which is probably true and not why I called. My main issue with them was the wrong salad which the delivery guy told me to call the restaurant. I am not one who posts negative reviews and I get the pressure that small businesses are under but I have totally written off this restaurant. On a Sunday night, I can't imagine the "manager" not having the time to apologize for their mistake or offer a free salad next time I come to dine. I get grub hub is potentially at fault for the cold pizza but the "manager" needs to be fired for his heartless attitude. read more

Food was not good. Went here with my boyfriend because it's in the neighborhood and saw the Yelp reviews and thought it was worth a try. Pizza crust was half burnt and there was no sauce on the pizza. Pretty much thin dough a couple pieces of chicken lightly garnished with cheese and some cloves of garlic. Don't let the wording in "homemade" lasagna fool you. It was terrible. No taste and no cheese and a small portion. I would rate Olive Garden better than this place. Also it's not a good deal take your money elsewhere. Maybe the ratings were high because it seems to be a type of hipster spot, but it's not worth it for the food. read more

I usually love this warm, friendly neighborhood joint, but we've been disappointed the past couple times we've been. Both times our pizzas were burnt. The first we ate anyway, the second was unacceptable. We discovered it only after we drove it home and sat down at the kitchen table. How disappointing to have to order another, drive back, and wait another 40 minutes for dinner? They apologized and made another, but that was it. They've added to the menu, as well as the space, and I worry they are trying to do too much. Both rooms were full and the staff was busy answering to go orders from three different online apps. First, we were seated at 2 top despite the waitress acknowledging that it was probably too cozy for 3 people. Second, food was just ok; nothing special. Pizza crust was bland but toppings were good (proscuitto and arugula). The insalata 22 was not worthy but the caprese was pretty good. The chili oil was a nice surprise. I like the cozy atmosphere, good customer service and mom and pop feel. It was by no means awful but just not worth returning to. read more

She then tossed the menus at us like so many playing cards (Like how I'm staying with the gambling theme?) When I asked for some ice for my Coke and more water, she mumbled something and then placed the bottle of water on the table with a "THUNK!"(no pouring here), when the poor man next to us with a small child asked for pepper, she did the same thing with the pepper grinder as if to say "Grind it yourself, you breeder!" WTH??!! We looked at each other and asked"What did we do!?" Nothing special here. Average food with so-so service. The pizza was fine, but I'm not a fan of the type of crust that is mostly burnt to a blackened crisp. I like thin crust, but heavily charred crusts are not my favorite. I thought the salad was fine, but the stuffed mushroom appetizer was nothing to write home about. read more
