    Lovely garden patio

Amazing! Our new favorite pizza restaurant in Venice! We came in for lunch on the lovely shaded garden back patio on a steamy day, and service was friendly and quick, which was great because we were hungry! Everything looked so good it was hard to decide. And prices were really reasonable, too. Between the 3 of us, we had the Insalata Mista - a large salad w/ greens, shredded carrots, tomatoes, shredded mozzarella, tuna, tasty olives and corn, and a bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dress it. They have a HUGE selection of pizzas (mostly €7-13). We had the Buffalona with tomato, mozzarella, big chunks of buffalo mozzarella and basil pesto. Everything was incredible - the wood fired crust, the sauce, the fresh toppings. My husband had a couple good German beers (€6 for .4L), and I enjoyed an Aperol spritz and Limoncello spritz- delicious and refreshing, and best price so far - just €4. Really love this special place!

This was our favorite place in Venice. We loved everhing we got. The carbonara pizza was thin and a good carbonara taste the eggs was a nice touch. The cheeses were so yummy with the bread. The inferno pizza came out like a calzone twisted pizza it was a surprise but a pleasant one. The place is full of locals and really only speak Italian which made it more authentic to us.

Very nice meal! We came here right when it opened for dinner and sat in the back patio. The atmosphere is really nice and we enjoyed our meal here. I think the most memorable item was the shrimp wrapped with potato strings. I definitely recommend trying that if you come here.

Our first day at Venice was cloudy and rainy so we wanted to stay close to our Airbnb. Luckily, this was across the street and had really good ratings. Our Airbnb host suggested we should stay away from places with pictures on the menu! The place itself is full of locals so this assured us that it must be a good and authentic place! We had no idea what to order, but our waiter was wonderful and recommended us 2 dishes (one a pizza and the other a "rolled pizza" for 11€). The pizza (barababao) had spicy salami, red onions, mozzarella, and a red tomato sauce. The "rolled pizza" had ham, arugula, sun dried tomatoes, fresh cut tomatoes, cheese(mozzarella?), and red tomato sauce. The service is a bit slow, but the food was worth it. Nice to people watch and enjoy a drink and have some pizza!

Food was so good but the service was terrible with the exception of the young lady who was clearly doing her work and picking up the slack of everyone else (including our absentee server). One person came to take our drink order within seconds of us sitting down and then disappeared for ten minutes. We had to flag him down to order drinks and then another person came to take our order. Instead of risking losing a server again, we ordered everything at once. Again, server disappeared for far too long for a glass of wine and a sofa. Bread and salad were brought out without plates. My gnocchi came out first and my fiancé's pizza just didn't come. After about 15 minutes, he got up to go check what was happening (our server never came by to check on us, not once during the meal) and I heard "oh yes!" from across the restaurant--clearly forgotten. We then saw the guys in the back scrambling to *start* making his pizza. Apologies were given and they give us a discount for the mix up but honestly, the service was bad even without one of the entrees being forgotten. Great outdoor space and delicious food (gnocchi was one of the best I've ever had!) but sadly service is lacking. *The table next to us literally lit up cigarettes during dinner. Smoking is everywhere here-including restaurants, train platforms, and public places-but they should have a non-smoking policy or have a smoking area. Really gross to have dinner in cigarette smoke.*

We have been visiting Italy for about 2 weeks now. We have been to many different kinds of restaurants and this place thus far has been our favorite spot. The food is so good that we stayed in Venice for 3 nights and all 3 nights we came to have dinner here. We had their pasta, pizza, kangaroo and leg of goat and all of them were just mouth watering. Glen was our waiter and he was so friendly and nice. We will definitely miss this establishment. If I could I would give this place 10 stars.a

Went here at night when it was pouring outside. At first they said they were full and we would have to wait, but then Alex came from around the corner and seated us in a covered outside area right away. The night was great from there on out. I started with fried olives stuffed with meat, and had a pumpkin pizza. What made the dining experience so great was Alex's exceptional service. He made us his special sauce at the table which was a mix of liquor, ketchup, mayonnaise, and Anfosso (spicy Olive oil). As he made it he told us it is a simple recipe that many Italians use to make a pink pasta sauce. Ask for this sauce if you come here, it is really good, I ended up dipping everything in it.

The pizza was wonderful- but it was over an hour for the food to come out. Delightful server. Best pizza in Venice so far.

What better way to spend it than wandering around Venice and enjoying dinner at Rossopomodoro? They're still in the "Italy training program" and these menus tend to confuse them, so after three weeks here I felt obligated to guide them toward the promised land. After much studying, debating, and staring at menus, it was finally time to order. I went with the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and the wife and I shared a salad. When that salad hit the table, it nearly stole the entire show. We drizzled on a little balsamic vinaigrette, added a shake of salt and pepper, and suddenly we were ready to dance right there in the alley. Fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, crisp greens--every ingredient tasted like it had been picked that morning. It was outstanding. The pasta was very good, but today the salad was the undisputed champion of the meal. Of course, dining outside along Venice's busy walkways only adds to the experience. Watching people pass by while enjoying great food is one of those simple pleasures that makes Venice such a special place. Rossopomodoro delivered a fantastic meal and a great evening. The newcomers survived their first full day in Italy, and I'd say they're off to a pretty good start.
