This place was a weekly staple when I discovered them in University Heights in 2011. Now I live in Webster and the one on 25th has filled that gap for me. Uni Heights location always had a punk rock vibe that I loved, before they expanded into the space next door. 25th Street is like that too but not quite as much. What you see is what you get, which is just a skeleton crew of friendly staff slanging some all-around delicious, NY style thin crust pizza, with lots of variety of sauces and toppings. Decent beers on tap but I'd love to see some more darker beers once in a while. Most ppl like their crust on the crispy side, but they can do it softer too if you ask them nicely. I wouldn't really call it New York-style pizza other than the fact that they sell it by the slice. I think that label sets some people up for disappointment because it doesn't quite hit the classic NY pizza mark. That said, if you're just looking for good pizza, you'll probably leave happy. Was so excited to come here after being in the area for a work training. I have had their Donatello pizza and it was delicious (I actually dream about this pizza often but none of the locations are in an area I can get to easily so it would still be hot) but I digress. I had thought about calling ahead and ordering a whole pie but I thought that was a bit excessive so I decided to see what awaited me when I got there. Parking is impossible. I was there after the lunch rush, there is construction in the area, the parking lot was full so I had to drive around and park quite far away. After hiking to the restaurant and seeing all the pies on display I decided on a slice of Donatello (Ricotta, parmesan, and garlic. No sauce) and a piece of pepperoni with bacon, onions and jalapeños. Two slices was $9.70 with tax. I decided to get them to go as it had taken so long to drive there and find parking my lunch was over and I was expected back in office. I noticed as I was hiking back to my car that the pizza did not feel very warm (I had ordered, went to the restroom and by the time I came out the slices were ready. I was in the bathroom 4 minutes max). I hoped that maybe because I was walking quickly or it was a warm day, perhaps I just did not notice that the pizza was not warm but alas when I got to the car, the pizza was barely lukewarm. I was hungry (no breakfast) so I snarfed Donatello down while I drove and saved the other one for work. The pizza was very crisp (crust like a cracker) which is not how a whole pie tasted so I assume it gets stale from sitting out or being reheated. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. If I get a hankering for this place again I will have to go in person, order a whole pie and have a few slices while there to see if this is just a one off or if the 1st time I ever had pizza from here (hot and delicious) was the one off. read more

However the woman working at the front desk on Sunday May 24th at 7:15pm gave us one of the worst customer service experiences we have received in years. It was genuinely shocking. we entered and she immediately asked us rudely to step outside when there was space inside. She interrupted us multiple times as we ordered, gave quick answers with a disrespectful attitude, refrained from making eye contact and overall seemed remarkably unkind and flustered on the job. It was incredibly disappointing for a place that has been previously so kind to us. We were shocked. Being from New York, we were looking for an authentic New York pizza place. I searched for a recommendations that had been on the Food Network and found this location. If there was a six review to give them, I would give them for sure a 5+ plus plus. My fiancé was from California, but I've never been to this location. He said this was the best pizza that he's ever had in his entire life. They offer pizza by the slice, which allows you to try a variety of different types of pizza without committing to a whole pie. This was awesome because we ended up trying six different slices of pizza and we were completely in heaven. We also took Pizza home with us to Arizona and wish we had ordered more. Bruce and Lady face provided awesome service and were extremely friendly. We also love that they were very dog friendly and allowed our little golden doodle to happily sit under the table and smell her pizza. We've been loyal local customers at this pizza joint for over 7 years and have always loved the food. Unfortunately, the customer service has been inconsistent, and tonight it was completely unacceptable. The guy working the register (Neal) was already rude to the customers ahead of us. When it was our turn, we ordered our pizzas and asked for a side of buffalo sauce and ranch. After paying, he put the pizzas on the table and tossed the ranch down. When we asked for the buffalo sauce, he snapped with attitude that we'd have to wait 5 minutes. As we walked away, he muttered under his breath, "I didn't charge you, so it doesn't really matter anyway." We've seen Neal be rude to customers in the past and always brushed it off, but tonight crossed the line. The food is still great, but this kind of service is unacceptable. You can really tell a pizza is good by its crust, and Luigi's did not disappoint as it checked all the boxes. We love the crime scene (ricotta and meatballs with dollops of marinara on top) as well as the Mona Lisa, which is like a supreme pizza. The sports bar (a baked potato/pizza hybrid) was good also the one time I tried that. The garlic knots are also another hit. Pretty much everything that we get from this place has been a hit. There is very limited parking in the area; but you can park across the street and take a very short walk. Place is always busy with people getting to go orders and dining in, but there are very few tables for dine in. And it never feels too crowded.
