Our latest visit yesterday was still overall a very positive experience. Much to our delight, their buckwheat pancakes are still the best pancakes EVER (imho). These pancakes are the reason why we come to Teddy Bear every time. Something about the flavor and texture just makes them stand out. In fact, we no longer order pancakes anywhere else. Corn beef hash and pastrami hash are still so very flavorful and satisfying. The cinnamon cornbread is still good. Coffee might seem a little weak for some (like my husband) but good enough for me. Our server was super busy so service was understandably a tad slow but decidedly adequate.

Came here on a Saturday for lunch and we were seated right away! Cons: We were not expecting this place to be cash only! The chairs were uncomfortable and the bathrooms are not nice. Their soda machine wasn't working and they didn't offer iced coffee (although they did give us hot coffee and a cup of ice). Their Ceaser salad had way too much dressing to the point where it was soggy! Overall it was an alright place for our weekend getaway lunch. But we would not eat here again.

However I ordered their back country burrito and it was average at best. Heavy on the egg and pico. There was hardly any bacon in it. And they didn't have hot sauce. I also got their August cold brew and it was pretty watered down. The flavors tasted a bit off. In addition the burrito was nearly $17 and the coffee was about $7. I definitely overpaid. Maybe I'll return to try other options, but not really the place for a breakfast burrito if you're looking for one.

You know how sometimes coffee shops advertise a drink that's supposed to taste like something but really just tastes like a regular latte? That's not the case here. Their flavored coffee actually tastes like what they say it will! The line was all the way out the door when we went, so if you're in a rush this might not be the place unless you order ahead, which you can do. There's plenty of seating both upstairs, downstairs, and outside, and the place had a fun rustic vibe to it.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE me some soup!…read more And when you are in the mountains, smack dab in the middle of winter, there is nothing more satisfying to your mouth, to your stomach and to your soul, than a hot cup of homemade soup. And to The Copper Q.... When visiting Big Bear this past winter (February 2026), I had one of your soups that will end all soups! It was creamy... It was Hot... And it made my tastebuds dance with joy!! The only bad thing about it.... I couldn't get enough of it, and to save my life, I can't tell you what the name of it was... (See my photo below for reference) Was it cream of chicken? Was it cream of mushroom?? Was it cream of heaven??? All I know, it was damn Delicious!!! Besides the soup, we also got some kind of specialty coffee for us, along with some cake pops & hot chocolates for the kids which they enjoyed. Apparently this place makes a mean Vietnamese Pho that everyone seems to give props to; I might just give it a spin next time though. Besides the soups & coffees, the Copper Q has a wide selection of baked goods, and other breakfast & lunch specialties. The city of Big Bear was poppin' the weekend we visited and it seemed like the Copper Q was the place to be because it too was packed. So if you find yourself in the area, definitely come check this place out for yourself.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I do not undertsand the 5 star reviews of this place. First, the straws are in a communal bucket unwrapped which is gross for any restaurant. We paid $43 dollars for two breakfast sandwhiches, a lemonade, and a coffee. I understand Big Bear is a mountain town and food is expensive which I am completely okay with. What I am not okay with is everything being store bought and resold at a higher price. The bagel and croissant were both store bought and terrible. It was also served on a paper plate, which I think is insane for a restaurant with that price. Other places with higher price points arent serving their food on paper plates why does the owner believe its cool for them to? We had not a single interaction with another human when we were here. Ordered at a kiosk, the people who made the drinks left them on the bar, said our name, and walked away, the guy cooking the food did the same. I am fine with the $43 dollar price point but with all of this combined, it is insane how this business stays open. The owner stated that I should have ask to speak to the manager which I would have .....IF THERE WAS ANYONE IN THE RESTAURANT TO TALK TO.

Now the FOOD... those sourdough waffles!!! They were ridiculously soft and fluffy with just the right amount of flavor. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the breakfast. The bacon was amazing too--nice and crispy exactly how I like it--and the eggs were cooked just right. Everything together was simple, filling, and delicious. Sometimes you don't need a fancy brunch spot with a 45-minute wait and a $20 mimosa . Give me good waffles, crispy bacon, perfectly cooked eggs, and a relaxed atmosphere and I'm happy. Definitely feels like a neighborhood favorite, and I can see why!

More Than A Meal - It's A Big Bear Staple You Can't Miss!…read more The Lumberjack Cafe isn't just our favorite breakfast spot in Big Bear; it is a vital part of our yearly traditions. For years now, we have planned my annual bday trip and April getaways to Big Bear Lake with Lumberjack Cafe ensuring a spot first on every itinerary. Honestly we look forward to sitting inside or outside this cafe just as much as the actual vacation itself. What makes this place truly magical is the people. Alecia is hands-down the best server we have ever had anywhere...PERIOD. Over the years she has transitioned from a familiar face to a dear who even remembers my order (I'm going to have to start switching it up more lol). Seeing her daughter, Aleka, carry on that same legacy of amazing, warm service that makes it feel like watching family grow. The food is consistently phenomenal and mouth-watering. My absolute must-have is the chocolate chip waffle which is packed with flavor, though the eggs Benedict is a very close second (they should market that Hollandaise sauce). My husband tries a variety of dishes and every single item he orders is a home run! Because they close at 2pm it is the ultimate neighborhood breakfast spot. As mountain visitors, we sometimes worry about how our favorite local spots survive the unpredictable winter seasons and we pray for this business to prosper for decades to come. If you are a traveler visiting Big Bear, you absolutely need to eat here. It will elevate your mountain experience, and like us, you will find yourself returning every single time you come back to the area. Thank you to Alecia & the entire Lumberjack Cafe Family/Team whose hard work and heart are quite apparent in every aspect of running a beloved local establishment. Finally, a special thank you to Alecia (and this time Aleka as well), for making another trip so unforgettable!!!

When we stopped in the line was extremely long, which is great for the local businesses. The store has three unique sections. Ice cream, candy, chocolate, gummy, worms, etc., and caramel apples. I'm not sure if the employee was happy with us, but we ordered from every section. It almost seemed like he wanted us to go back and get in line to order from a new section but we didn't. I had peanut butter and chocolate on a cake cone that was outstanding. The wife had chocolate chip on a sugar cone and she also enjoy it. The grandkids had a variety of different flavors and I have to assume they enjoyed it because there was none left. The daughter ordered a caramel apple with some topping on it that she thoroughly enjoyed. She also ordered an extra one that was sliced that she shared with all of us. It had caramel and nuts on it. Very tasty. We also ordered different chili, flavored gummy worms and gummy rings. The grandkids thoroughly enjoyed. In addition, had to try out the chocolates. Had the dark chocolate haystack wasn't too impressed with it. Had a couple of dark chocolate cashew clusters. The wife said they were very good. The three employees that were working behind the counter we're doing a great job keeping the line moving. They also offer a discount if you eat at saucy mamas beforehand and bring your receipt. If you're visiting the village and get a sweet tooth this is a great place to stop.

I got the strawberry cheesecake, but it didn't have strawberry chunks or much strawberry flavor, and chocolate peanut butter. The chocolate is overpowering unless you get a good chunk of peanut butter. Overall, it's a good place to catch a treat.
