Not the same anymore. The prices went up and the quality of the food went down. The pastrami sandwiches used to be amazing here, but this time it was extremely dry and the meat quality was not good. I Have been coming here for years, and definitely miss the old ownership. I don't know if it was the new owner or manager but he was talking so rudely to the employees and interrupted the young lady helping me with my order multiple times. To start off, I used to LOVE this place. The most amazing, delicious, and addicting Philly cheese steak sandwich was sold here as well as great chili cheese fries. (I'm talking about 5yrs ago) I'd grab those two things for lunch quite often and they were consistently good! Unfortunately, as of like 2.5yrs ago, the taste of the Philly cheese steak has gone down. It's still decent food but not my favorite anymore due to the inconsistency. The last 3 times I got a philly were a letdown. Each time I thought, "it happens! sometimes the food isn't cooked the same or maybe quality/quantity of cheese/meat/spices were the reason for the letdown." Today was the first time I had one in a couple months and it was a way smaller sandwich and such a tiny amount of cheese. This made it the 4th time in a row that I was disappointed so I had to let everyone and the great and always friendly owner know. Now let me make this clear to whoever reads this.... I'm not writing this to complain, but rather, to give feedback so that hopefully something changes; I believe constructive criticism is important. My craving for chili cheese fries led me to PK Burgers. I was so hungry I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I proceeded to order a cheeseburger ($2.59), chili cheese fries with extra cheese ($3.55), and a large soda ($1.79). But that's when I saw a cook grilling up some steak with onions and bell peppers. I changed my mind and ordered the steak sandwich ($5.59) instead. The lady asked, "how many people is this going to be for?" Which I sheepishly replied, "umm... me?" She warned me it was a lot of food, whatever... she doesn't know me. I paid $12.28 for the hot mess and got busy on my food. As I unwrapped the steak sandwich it fell apart (bread and melted swiss cheese stuck to the paper) so I had to eat with with a fork. The steak wasn't sliced too thin and it was a little tough. With a side of salsa, ranch dressing, and hot peppers to top it all off, I dug into the chili cheese fries. It was gooey and piping hot. The lady wasn't kidding when she said there was already a lot of cheese. More! More cheese! I say! :oD There wasn't as much chili as I had thought there'd be, but it was still good. It's been about 2.5 hrs now and I *think* I'm starting to digest some of the food. The quality of food and preparation is about average and the service is friendly. What's strange is that they let you walk inside, around the counter, to scoop your own ice and help yourself to the soda. At first I was hesitant, but the lady kept telling me to help myself and I saw someone else go behind the counter so I followed suit. As for the burgers, they looked like the ones you'd get at any regular burger joint - meat, cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. I'm a fan. Love this place. It's puny~! Small place, somewhat difficult to navigate if unfamiliar with the area. I'm sure someone has a pic of this large hut~! Many of you, my dear yelp friends, should be aware for my preference for proprietors & distaste for corporate crap even though the majority of these proprietors use commercialized, corporate, processed foods anyways which i call smart & final food. yes i am a quagmire. anyhoo, i digress. Ventured to this establishment a few times now and it appears I have found my Pepes Breakfast Burritos Replacement. It's not as large as Pepes, perhaps 30% smaller but it tastes better. No fluff on this one. Just some tidbits about le grub... Bfast Burros: I get mine with egg whites cause yolks, or too much yolks give me a headache like dark chicken meat **shrug** This bfast burro comes with eggs, hash, cheese, hot sauce and meat (bacon is my choice of pork). Adding tomatos, onions & cilantros is an option i choose. I haven't tried it with manteca-filled refried beans but that is in the near future. The burro tastes better than anywhere else because, i reckon, the distribution is well put. 90% of places with large bfast burros is filled with more than 50% potatos, but not at pk. The hash browns are the same they use for the bfast platters ergo its crispy. Add that with the not to bearing abundance of delicious bacon with smeltering cheese wrapped in the middle and edges with a hint of hot sauce tart and it's damn good. Don't ask for too much hot sauce based on what i claim.... I'm Korean, my tolerance for spice is well above the average american. Just a warning, not some ethnocentric inferiority arrogant crap i'm rhyming. Chili Cheese Fries: The chili is great. I was shocked how good the chili cheese fries are. It's much better than the Hats (not as large) & Tommys~! They sorta skim you on the papitas but there's plenty of chili goo and shredded orange cheese! :D Fries: They are whatever. Burgers: Hmmm the burgers. I got the double cheese and it comes with thousand island and the regular shabang. The burgers were decent. It's smart & final food. The flavor is very similar to Brea's Best and wouldn't be too shocked if they used the same distributors. The food is quite inexpensive and I support this business. As for service, there isn't much. It's fast food~! The soda arrangement is funny. You get your own stuff. hahaa. Hours: They close between 4p-7p so it's truly a lunch spot. PROS ^ Large menu selection. They make a variety of foods. ^ Get your own cup and drink. I'm on the fence with this one. It's easier for you cause you seal your fate on the cup size, amount of ice and soda that you want. But, it's work for you since it's self service and one less thing for them to do. When the food is ready, they call me to the counter to pick it up. More work again? ^ Unlimited ranch, ketchup, and mustard (also self service). That's it, don't leave a tip. What's the point? ^ The best thing on their menu for me are the Chilli Cheese Fries. Good ratio of fries to chilli and cheese. Breakfast Burritos are above average. Hamburgers are no different than what you get at your average burger joint in your local city. ^ Mr. PK is nice and friendly. I have no issues with him. We'll talk about his wife later. CONS ^ Cash only. In this day and age? There's an ATM machine inside but of course there's a surcharge. I tried using it once, it didn't even read my card. ^ There's nothing unique about the food here. The burger along with many of the items taste exactly like any other food that they serve in your local neighborhood burger joint. ^ A little pricey for my taste. If the food was more legit, I would understand but it's not, therefore I don't comprehend. ^ Mrs. PK, she can be mean. Doesn't really acknowledge you, doesn't smile, and talks down to her workers like she owns them. I sensed bad karma on several occasions. I have been coming here since the 90s I love their Philly cheesesteak. And they have delicious chili cheese fries.

Total hole-in-the-wall shack, located off the side of the road next to a 7-Eleven. The parking lot is awkward and small - there's actually kinda two lots because you can park on either side, but it's tandem parking...so be prepared to possibly get trapped! Undoubtedly the best part about this place is their fries, which are just perfect - not too thin, not too thick, crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially if you order one of their specials (I got the 1/4 lb burger, fries and a drink for $6). The burgers are pretty solid here and taste more natural than any you'd find at a fast food restaurant. They also sell burritos, chili dogs, and some of the other types of foods you would expect from this type of establishment. FYI - it's cash only, unless you're willing to use a debit card. read more

Went to PK Burgers today and discovered that there are new owners. The food was terrible. Our onion rings and fries were way over cooked and my sister steak sandwich had a half a piece of steak on it, so we took it back, they then replaced it with it with another sandwich that was raw. While we sat there waiting for the replacement sandwich the cooks and staff were just staring at us and giving us dirty looks! We will never go there again! They get a minus star! read more

A friend recommended this place for a good burger and fries combo and they did not disappoint. The service was prompt and the food was good. Our group ordered burgers done a few different ways and everyone seemed pretty happy with their selection. I gave it 4/5 because it wasn't just crazy good, but instead just good. I got their bacon ham and sausage breakfast burrito to go. I went because of hearing about their breakfast burritos when I was high school. I actually seek breakfast burrito spots, as they are a favorite meal of mine. So I ordered one. First impression was great, good sized burrito. That's it. Upon beginning to eat, there was not much flavor at all. It was packed with goodies, but the eggs were nothing special, tasted like they were just heated up a little bit. Some of the ham was hot, but most was cold still. The onions in there were also raw, and cold. Ew... The ingredients were piled in a way that there was no blend of flavors. Everything was added to the tortilla (and I assumed cooked) separate (maybe even before). I thought it had some salsa, so I checked. Yup, just not flavor. No worries, I grabbed the green salsa people talked about. I love salsa verse. Upon pouring it out of a to go container I got from the counter, I got not one, but TWO hairs. A very long curly one and a very short one. Neither of which are on my head. That did it for me. No more. I have a long list of burritos rated and this one is at the very bottom. It's funny that this placed is owned by a Korean couple, but I really do love this place a lot. I've only been here a handful of times but I've never left thinking twice about coming back. The interior is locally cozy. You can see different high school sports team plaques of gratitude for this restaurants patronage. The environment is also very friendly. The refill station is behind the counter, which I have a bit of mixed feelings about. First off just being kinda weird walking into "Their zone" you know? but it's also cool cuz you're...kinda walking into "their zone". Anyway, the owner is really nice and makes an effort to know everyone's name. He even remembers some people who are returning which I was really impressed with. Always ample seating for me, and parking has never been a problem. I tried their breakfast burrito the first time here and while it was delicious, I'll tell you that it wasn't the best I've ever had. The burrito WAS delicious so I'm not going to disagree with any of the yelpers below me, but I really do believe that PK's biggest shining stars are well...their burgers. As advertised, their burgers are not incredibly expensive and yet the burgers are very very good. I had their jalepeno burger and absolutely loved it. If you had asked me to go to Red Robin or PK burger....I'd actually...have to seriously consider it. That's how good this is. (And I love Red Robins) We (me and my girlfriend) ordered one order of fries and it filled both of us up, so they're pretty generous with their portions. Overall this place is a pleasure to come to. This is the first time I've tried this place. I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito. First of all it was BIG. It was a nice fatty. I actually only ate half. But besides that, it was absolutely delicious. My husband got a pancake breakfast. He was very happy with it. I did try the pancakes and they were very good. So we definitely will be returning there. The Chili Cheese fries here are simply worth taking! they are seasoned that means they are tasty and crispy but hey I asked for extra cheese on top and we didn't get that! Overall these were still great! even without the extra dairy toppings anyway. This order is on their side menu and you get a decent portion around $3.50. The Jalapeño Burger was also a good pick, seasoned beef patty topped with lettuce, tomatoes and of course jalapeño. After a bite or two it got me going like "Uummm!!!" "good!!" like Adam Richman (MVF) after an exciting bite! Their crispy Fried Zucchinis are good as well you can see the salt on them that makes you not stop eating them. The Bean and Cheese burrito topped off our meal of the night till the last tummy stuffiness. They are cash only. Sometimes you just have to give them a second chance and thats exactly what i did. Got a couple of burritos this time around and they were excellent. The customer service was incredible too. They remodeled to make the place more appealing and easy to traffic through. I was very pleased with changes and the meal and courteous service. I had the chili cheese fries, at the recommendation of other yelp reviews. I can't say it was the very best, but considering that it was a heavy meal, I feel like a second trip for a burger or a breakfast burrito is in order. The chili was a bit too salty, a little too much for my taste. It was a nice even spread but, I feel like it could have been a little better. Also, it was a bit messy, and yes i know, its supposed to be, but the chili had already leaked into the bag and smudged all over the outside of the container. The inside of the establish, it was a confusing where the cashier counter was and how its laid out, it appears as though some of the patrons were going behind the counter. I do like the community support and involvement, I love seeing from local establishments.
