When judging all other Orlando pizza dives this place is as good as it gets in my opinion!! I always get there white pizza and it rocks my taste buds every single time! I recently was lucky enough to score a bite of their "Planet Special" and it did not disappoint! It was the best supreme type pizza I possibly have ever had. Now I have tried other pizza places in the vicinity and they are just not the same. I always tend to get "White" pizzas so different toppings do not effect my preference. While I was lost in the bliss of my pizza the other night, I realized it is Planet Pizza's crust that puts them above the rest. It's the perfect blend of crispy but chewey, but greasy combination that wins my heart over all the time. The pizza is really good. HOWEVER, I want people to know about the OWNERS of this business. A couple of years ago I was working on a film production (yes a bit late but it needs to be shared). We had that sidewalk & street blocked off for filming; this had been worked out with the owners of the business. During a take the son of the owner comes out and starts smoking a cigarette I politely asked him to hang off to the side with me so he wouldn't be in the shot. He was very rude and cursed at me... then got his father the owner of the store, who comes out to threaten to kill me. He specified getting his gun and shooting me unless I got off of their side walk. The reason for it? Because I was a WOMAN... They wouldn't take orders from a female and said that they needed to put a male in my position. So again. Great pizza but the owners have ZERO respect for women. I love this place, i am a regular there, i work nearby and get off right at midnight, stop in for a pizza its so good, the people treat you like their family.. closest pizzaria to an actual new york pizzaria you will find here in orlando, when it comes to pizza taste, you cant beat planet. They're open till 3am 7 days a week. Right next to my work downtown. Pizza is always fresh and made by hand. Everyone that works there is friendly and quick to take orders. The only downside to this location are the late night weekends when the many drunks crowd and throw scraps of food on the curb and fights on the street, but thats typical for downtown orlando when the bars let out and not so much to do with the restaurant itself. read more

Who doesn't want 2300 calorie Jamaican Beef Patties when they're drunk?? Planet Pizza is the quick-fix equivalent of a breakfast shop throwing pancake batter balls filled with Aunt Jamima. And having the police watch you eat it while you're there. I heard someone compare it to NY pizza recently on a review, this made me gag. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I stopped by this place with my roommate last Saturday night, 2/11/2017, after leaving Wall Street downtown. The pizza was good and quick service. Too bad I will never be spending my money here again due to the fact that the employees and owners are dishonest thieves :) Im sure they didn't think I would notice the tip they gave themselves on my debit card but I actually check my bank account activity frequently, unfortunately enough for them. I purchased my slice and tipped on that receipt and then I purchased my roommates slice right after for her and left no tip on that receipt since I'd already tipped on mine. 5 days later and the tip is adjusted on my bank statement showing that both purchases had tips added to them. Not impressed. I am pretty liberal with my pizza reviews as I just love the stuff, but this definitely did not stand out in any way. I always judge pizza with pepperoni so they are all on an even playing field, and also because that is the classic slice right there. It was rather bland...the flavor was unremarkable, and after a few drinks most pizza tastes a bit better than this. Being that it is downtown and in the party zone, I won't knock it too much for ambience, but this was seriously lacking. Tiny, cramped quarters where a obnoxious group could potentially be a problem. There are better places downtown to eat pizza...maybe the specialty pizzas are better as some of the good reviews here are raving about that. Maybe I caught it on a bad night. If I could give them a negative 5 stars I would! This place is downright disgusting and the customer service is the worst. After being coerced to trying this restaurant out by the "rent-a-cop" standing at the door. We unfortunately did not know what we were getting ourselves into. I ordered 4 slices of pizza for $18. They were Luke warm to the point one of my pizzas was completely cold as if their oven is broken. As I was waiting the owner made it apparent he would not give me a refund for his lousy, cold slice of pizza. BUT would greatly take it back and 'reheat ' it up. WHERE IS THE SANITATION?! I've already taken a bite off of it and you want to reheat it in the same oven that you're hearing up present guests foods?! Disgusting! The tables were all dirty on top of that. Here's the kicker, he had us kicked out when we refused to have the slice reheated?! He told us and I quote, "I make 5000 pizzas a day and you're the only one complaining!" Not to be confused with Pizza Planet of Toy Story fame, Planet Pizza is conveniently located just around the corner from I-Bar and a stones throw from most downtown bars given its pretty central location. The pizza here is all kinds of wonderful drunk food, with the white (sauceless with ricotta cheese) pizza being the menu standout. A wide varity of whole pies and slices are available to choose from, as well as calzones, pepperoni rolls and stromboli. As far as the whole Downtown Orlando pizza feud, I do not think this place is better or worse than Gino's HOWEVER they do sell Yoo-Hoo here which make drunk me a happy camper. Planet Pizza neighbors I-Spy bar and is just a stumble around the corner from Independent Bar. It is the perfect post-bar pit stop to fulfill your late night hunger. I am sure many may disagree with me, but of the number of pizza places sprinkled throughout downtown, Planet Pizza takes the cake (err..pie) of the best in the area. The service is always friendly, in that rough NY sort of way, and the slices are even better. I usually go with the Planet Special, which has a ton of veggies and ham piled on top. The BBQ Chicken Pizza has shredded, tangy BBQ chicken piled on top of your slice and is always satisfying as well. The white pizza is definitely worth trying as well, and the normal slice of pizza does a pretty adequate job of pouring over your paper plate. Each slice is around the 3 dollar mark. Don't go in expecting a fine dining experience, as Planet Pizza is a narrow room with a few tables and chairs thrown in. Not to get all commercial on you, but when you are craving that late night "fourth meal," skip your local fast food restaurant and head over to Planet Pizza to feed your fix. read more
