Never in my life have I been so offended. Got take out last weekend, as I was waiting for my order to be ready, I asked one of the girls for a cup of water. It was about 93 degrees out, and it felt like 105 that day, all I wanted was to rehydrate myself with water. I was DENIED a glass of water bcs it's "illegal to give to go cups in Virginia." (As told by two girls working the to go station) Mind you, I'm a resident of Virginia, I work in the restaurant industry, and never in my life have I EVER DENIED SOMEONE A GLASS OF WATER WHEN ITS BURNING OUTSIDE. If I don't give them a to go cup, plenty of places I've worked at have those clear cups for water. It's just human decency to provide water to PAYING CUSTOMERS. The pizza here is pretty good. Despite having Coca Cola cups, the place serves Pepsi, which is a bummer. The seating is fairly accessible, and there's seating with movable tables as well as booth seating. Not a lot of open space if you're navigating in a wheelchair. read more

Found this down the street from our hotel and decided to give it a try. Pizza was very good with a tasty tomato sauce and lots of cheese. The breadsticks were also very good, but you'll want to like garlic if you decide to get them. We also went around 5:30 with a party of nine and didn't have to wait. Service was fine - nothing exceptional, but decent for a relaxed pizza shop. The decor wasn't quite as fun as you would think from a place called Planet Pizza, but as long as that's not the reason you're going it's not a big deal. Maybe okay if you're with kids, kind of like Chuck E Cheese pizza is okay because that's all you can get when you're at Chuck E Cheese. I had the gyro, which I did not expect to be great since it's a pizza place, and it was just fine except I was really sick later on and I have no doubt it was the gyro. Hubby had the chicken fingers which clearly had been frozen until not long before that. They were really cheap looking, flat, and breading looked limp. Kids would like them probably (so did hubby. Decor in the place is pretty cool. Food was actually delicious. We got the three cheese with tomatoes, without tomatoes. It was more than I had hoped for. Crust part with cheese was super thin but good, actual crust was huge. Was going to ask our waitress for a thing of marinara, but as it seemed we were just bothering her the whole time I didn't. We came here tonight for the first time to celebrate our daughter's birthday. It did not meet our expectations. We expecting games and something fun to do but all they have is good. Online it showed they had an arcade but we were told that it was an old location that is no longer available. Food was decent: we order Area 51 nachos which was really BIG! My wife and I shared and then also gave the rest to our children to finish. Disappointed that it was cold (the chili that was a part of the topping). We also had pizza which tasted pretty good. Mozzarella sticks and wings as well which was good too. It was disappointing because they didn't have any desserts! The food and wait staff are wonderful! And the ambiance was really fun! The only issue we had was that it was very hot inside the building and on a hot day, there wasn't much relief from the heat. Planet Pizza truly is a nostalgic dine-in or carry out for your stay in Virginia Beach. The decor in the restaurant is obviously themed in an intergalactic style; featuring aliens, spaceships, and blacklights galore. Most of the food items here, are exactly what one would expect. They seem to use quality ingredients (at least in their pizzas). The pizza is always cheesy, stringy, and an absolute delight. Even though I was tired from 24-hours without sleep, heading down to the beach after working an overnight shift at work, I still enjoyed my dinner here. read more

By all appearances, this place looks like it would be geared towards kids with the whole alien theme inside but let me tell you....they have some of THEE best pizza I've ever had! It has a great crust that's actually edible. Not too thin. Not too thick. Great tasting sauce and great toppings. The Greek salad is so delicious! Albeit, a tad over dressed for my liking (just a personal preference) but still wonderful. Not soggy at all. I suggest sitting outside if it's nice out if you enjoy people watching. This place used to be a must every time we were in the area. The last time we stopped by we dined in and were disappointed with the lack of customer service by wait staff, now you basically wait on yourself. There is staff that roams around but they direct you back to the cashier for most things. Like so many places near the boardwalk now, The dining experience is not worth what you pay for it, you serve yourself on paper plates, no ice is available, no customer service. I have accepted this, but tonight I ordered take out and it was terrible. My order was simple, but yet it was incorrect. Not that big of a deal, but it was super cold even though the app said it wouldn't be ready for 5 minutes after I actually picked it up. Then once I actually tried it I realized there was almost no sauce at all. It was very low quality for the price. And they were not busy at all! Pizza Hut does better at a fraction of the price. The negative review for this place is so unfair, however, everyone is obviously entitled to their opinion. It's a restaurant on the beach. It's got alien memorabilia everywhere and is similar to a diner..... The pizza is amazing. The wings are too. Is it fine Italian pizza or even restaurant, nope BUT I love the simplicity of the ingredients and the wing sauce is plain buffalo (nice and hot). My sister and I ate here last yr and had Caesar salads that were also delicious so that's why we came back to try the pizza and wings. It reminds you of childhood beach food and the service is pretty good! Also, not that it was prestine, but I felt it was decent as far as cleanliness and I'm very picky about that.... First visit was June 2016 with an order that included 2 orders of the wings and a large deluxe pizza. It was okay, service was good, and the prices very reasonable. Good reviews initially brought us here in June and a mediocre experience in June coupled with our August bad experience sent us out. Last family beach getaway before school, we find ourselves in Virginia Beach during the hottest week thus far for 2016. Hungry and out on the bikes we stop in and lucky place is not busy with maybe seven tables with customers. After 15 minutes and still no order for drinks or any water offered. In poor taste but appropriate for the heat we break into our own water bottles - our waitress shows within 30 seconds. She was friendly and very apologic and explained some kitchen or restaurant issue (I am a customer I don't care - but appreciate your apology). Ordered pizza with daughter getting two toppings on one half and I ordered three toppings on the other half. We were told we couldn't do that - I explained again thinking there is a miscommunication having never hearing of a pizza place being able to do a half and half pizza. Nope they cannot make this pizza. Okay, we will go elsewhere because that is what we want and we know it can be done. And if I didn't get more water I was going to pass out. Went here on on a Saturday afternoon (yesterday, October 18, 2014). We had been walking around for hours just because it was a beautiful day and we decided we wanted pizza...most of the pizza places were either closed or just seemed steep w the prices. We just wanted pizza by the slice and a soda and move along w our day, stumbled across this place and saw a pizza deal BY THE SLICE for $6 for cheese and $6.50 for pepperoni...2 slices mind you...and a soda! YES! It was quick, delicious and the atmosphere was really laid back. Our server was Hannah and she was really delightful and nice, she could see we just wanted to sit in the AC a bit longer and just chat so she filled up our sodas and told us to stay all day if we wanted! What a fun place! Our eight year old daughter chose this dinner destination based on the alien decor. It did not disappoint- the pizza was good, the Greek salad was delicious and loaded with feta, olives, onions... My son had a cheese steak that was really good as well - a great discovery! Went here in 2014, and was looking forward to taking my son this year 2016. First, the adults got our pizza 15 minutes before the kids so we didn't get to eat together. The adults ordered a specialty , the pineapple and ham. It was cold and old , horrible!! We should have sent it back but we were starving! They couldn't comp it so gave a small discount. OK so a lunch with a large group and it was apparent that the two man kitchen was outmatched. Over 20 minutes to get chicken fingers from the the freezer to the deep fryer, a processed meat lamb gyro and pizza that was super greasy. To say that the previous reviews were a bit misleading would be an understatement. This is my first and last time ever eating at this place. This place is great! My wife and I ordered the Nachos with the Queso on the side, although we did ask for some extra chili- awesome. We also got a Med. Deluxe pizza and we split halves her with 5 toppings and mine with 5 since we can never agree on what we like. They put together something that looked and tasted like a masterpiece.
