The sweet potato fries were delicious: crispy, crunchy, a bit salty. - chicken marsala: my hubby said that the garlic mushroom sauce was delicious but it was too little. The chicken was tender and the breading was crispy and flavorful. The mash potatoes were fluffy and well seasoned. The asparagus were cooked perfectly. - seared ahi tuna burger with fries: the ahi tuna was disappointing. The inside was still cold although the sear was perfect. The slaw was tangy and nice. We came here for an early date night last week during their happy hour. It wasn't at all packed and we got seated right away. The food here is always pretty solid. We got the wings, ahi nachos, and I got the fish & chips. All of them were delicious and hit the spot. I think the ahi nachos are my favorite item on the menu as we've gotten them on both our trips here and they were delicious both times. They have a nice patio area out front and on the side of the restaurant as well which is ideal for a nice evening. It has a more upscale feel to it, which is a nice departure from some of the more bar style restaurants that are most prominent in old Folsom. If there was any drawback to our experience it was that it's a pricey place. $80 for both meals and two sodas, and our service wasn't exceptionally great. Two other people came in and ordered and received food before we did. They both had a different waiter, so perhaps it was just an off night for our waiter. Overall the experience is good, the food is good, and it's got a fun upscale atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot if you like good contemporary American food. read more

On our way home from Apple Hill, we decided to have lunch at Plank. It was our first visit. The food was amazing! My husband had fish and chips. The pieces of fish were large and surrounded by piping hot fries. And, I am so thankful that today I found the BEST Reuben sandwich in the greater Sacramento area. The pastrami is smoked in house, was cooked perfectly and delicious. Taste wise Plank is on par with Katz in NYC. Only recommendation would be to add a pickle on the side. Got our water fast, but the server took quite a while. Once she arrived it kicked into gear and she got drinks and food to us quickly. She also checked in and was sharp on the bill timing. Caprese sandwich was excellent. A solid and flavorful comfort winner. The truffle burger was good, but not a clear winner. Good bun, decent texture and std aioli, but the rest meh. Cesar salad was standard and the tots were better than fast food with some texture and a workable seasoning, but they were overcooked. Conversely they were served warm which is notable given that most places screw the timing up. Please throw some scallions on! The wine and beer selection was solid. Decent selection and good price points. Definitely try their cocktails, we like the Mezcal Old Fashioned. So, worth a visit but be prepared for some minor chaos. read more

When you arrive, you've walked past the charming Folsom area. We were greeting with a lovely smile from a host. We were given the option of outside surrounded by heaters, or inside. We opt for outside. It was comfortable. We tried a drink recommended as it's a qualifier for a Johnny Cash event. Did not like it. We ordered a steak sandwich, amazing- did not like the side salad... and a cheeseburger, I did not try. The tator tots were cooked to perfection. Crispy, laid over a jalapeno Mac n cheese that had the perfect amount of spice, topped with some pulled pork and Chipotle Plank Sauce, and Green onions that again.... Where to die for. Our waitress was named Kyndell and she was just all around awesome!! She was friendly, inviting, helpful, and fun. It seems there isn't a bad seat in the place. Ideally outside would be great but we had a window seat and it was still a great experience. Probably could sit me in a dark black hole and I'd still be happy because the food was to die for!! We had the smoke buffalo wings and it's just unfair how good these are. So much flavor! Then the poke nachos which were huge with so much fresh fish, avocados, and mangos. The sliders my husband couldn't believe how perfect they were just actually amazing and nice size. The grilled artichoke was actually life changing. Because now no other artichoke will do. Even without the most perfect rosemary aioli that came with it.. the artichoke itself had flavor. It was mind blowing. The cocktails were so good. It was an all around amazing experience. The ambiance is cozy and warm. The restaurant is located in old town Folsom so parking could be an issue but there is an underground garage very close by. We just had appetizers and drinks. The espresso martini was delicious as was the grilled artichoke. I definitely saw many things on the menu that looked amazing so I'll be back. If you sit upstairs take your time coming down as I caught my heel in my pant leg and almost gave everyone an acrobatic show but managed to save myself at the last second. Super friendly service too. Went to Plank Craft Kitxhen on this Friday evening what a hidden gem. We sat upstairs such a cabin Lake Tahoe feel to it. My husband ordered the the tots for the appetizer could not believe they had so much ingredients on top it was a meal itself but worth it. We had a server Baily she was so welcoming and efficient. She asked if we were celebrating anything most servers do not take the time these days to ask that. She gave us some of her favorites on the menu and told us a little background about this place. I think they put the bartender to wait on us but we were never given any silverware until we asked and it still took a while to get it. She barely checked in but she had a sweet personality. We came in for a nice family dinner while in town and the staff were amazing. Super cheerful, welcoming and personable. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich + avocado with regular fries and blue cheese dressing on the side. With the slaw and crispy onions, the sandwich was very tall but delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly and the slaw wasn't absolutely smothered in mayo and dressing. I do wish I ordered an appetizer before it because I was still a bit hungry afterwards but I'd 100% recommend the sandwich. The blue cheese dressing was very thin and not very blue cheesey but it went well with the crispy non oily fries. My boyfriend had the ahi nachos and it was pretty nice. It had a little too much dressing and sauce for me but it would be a good dish to share with the table in the future. We also tried the eggnog crème brûlée. I didn't get a lot of eggnog flavor and the sugar on top was too thick, uneven and burnt sadly. The texture of the crème was delicious but it was difficult with the burnt topping. Our waitress was amazing! I do sort of wish we had our waters refilled more and I did tend to be a bit forgotten since I was the furthest away. I'd happily return next time we're in town for the food and drinks. Highly recommend!! read more
