Visited with some friends on a Friday evening and the place was jumping. We had reservations and were seated immediately. They offer both inside and outside seating, including a roof top area where we were seated. Service was excellent throughout the meal. Then there was the food...which based on their name "Craft Kitchen ", I was expecting to be unusual and exciting. Although everything was good, it was food that can be found anywhere. Prices are high, but not ridiculous, it's just that the food is average in every way....flavor, presentation and quality......average, average, average. With that in mind, I can't think of a reason to return. We were not mad, just disappointed. "Craft Kitchen" to me means unique, unusual, skillfully prepared and presented in a fashion that is unlike anything else. Sadly, it is not! read more

Don't get the artichoke extremely disappointed couldn't eat any of the leaf when brought it up to the waiter. She said the leaf is just a decoration for flavor and you only eat the heart so $17 for one and a half artichokes worth of hearts which were only half edible read more

We love Plank!! We are happy to have stumbled upon this place after attending the peach festival this year. The service is incredible! We love the staff, they are all so kind and welcoming. They have such a neat spot at the end of Sutter street with great outdoor and indoor seating. Okay the staff are amazing, place is awesome but the FOOD IS SPECTACULAR! I really love the menu options that offer. And they smoke some of their own meats! The buttermilk fried chicken sandwich is legendary- topped with a fried green tomato OMG. Loved the Folsom rodeo burger, so much flavor. And wasn't expecting to have the best Caesar salad here but they did that! Wings were tasty too. First time here the service is good. We love the outside dog friendly seating very cute area. The calamari was a little too dry it's so thin so when they fry it it's just a crunch it's more breading than anything. The sauce is great though 5/10 The French dip was very simple but not disappointing. I wish it had a sauce or somethin lol but I think traditionally it's just meat and bread. The sweet potato fries were good just a little soggy It was ok 6/10 The pork belly tacos were actually disappointing I think they tried to add Asian flavor they were very saucy it was just not a good flavor for us. 3/10 The cups are really small we essentially got two appetizers and one meal ( we shared the prime rib sandwich) pretty pricey for the just okay food. read more

My husband and I have been to Plank Craft kitchen several time for lunch. Never disappointed. The chicken sandwich was awesome. The lobster Mac and cheese was great with plenty for leftovers overs. Came here on a cold Saturday for lunch to force us to get out of the house with our 4 month old. They were super accommodating and the service was so quick and attentive without feeling rushed. Also, just have to shout out their crispy bacon on the chicken sandwich. So many places are lazy and put undercooked or chewy bacon on sandwiches. It's such a minor detail but makes all the difference. My husband loved his patty melt and mentioned the tater tots were super crispy. Their Christmas decor is great as well! read more

Wow! We are so happy we found this gem of a restaurant! Multiple decks with misters and privacy. The menu has so many great options on it, we wanted to order everything. Ended up enjoying the Brussel sprouts and the peach burrata appetizers. Both were perfect, but especially the burrata. All the flavors melded so well and the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Entrees we had the truffle burger, chimichurri steak sandwich, and lobster mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is to die for, so much lobster in it and great cheese sauce. The service was warm, kind, and helpful. Everyone from the host, to the food runner, to our awesome server treated us with great hospitality. The owner knows what he's doing with his staff and menu! We selected a random place that had parking available, and it was the best choice ever. The food was absolutely mouth watering and so delicious. Our server gave us the best recommendations - I recommend the tater tots, it's a meal all by itself. The location itself is so pretty, the inside, especially upstairs is so clean and stunning. I had not been to the Plank since it changed ownership. The ambience is still the same which enhances the experience. Our server was super friendly and multi tasking as the hostess, bartender and server. We saw both of the owners in the restaurant working as well. Our food took a long time to come. My chicken sandwich was dry and tasteless, the bacon undercooked and hardly any avocado to find. The tots were something I have never experienced. They were crispy but had no the inside were dry and had no flavor. I feel like maybe our food sat for awhile before it arrived at our table. My lunch mate had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The soup was OK however the grilled cheese looked like it was made on Wonder bread with not much " grilling". Disappointed as I really liked going there prior. It filled me up too. - I would love an option with no Mac and more pulled pork or more tots. Mac was not bad. Just not a layer I cared much about. Also had a mule and the seasonal margarita. This Memorial Day was their first time being open. It was also my first time here. When I tell you the food is worth the wait, THE FOOD AND SERVICE IS WORTH THE WAIT! The owners are kind and friendly and passionate. They set up a POW table. They told everyone who walked in, this is our first time being open for a Memorial Day after they took over 7 months ago. They did phenomenal! I was prepared to wait. They brought us water within the "3 minute touch" time . The bartender (owner) and our waitress (owner) made sure they spoke with everyone for at least 30 seconds. The food took a while to come out but I did tell them, "I was in the service industry for 20 years. I I'll be okay as long as you communicate." The food was better than I could have imagined.
