However, each company either wasn't interested in the job, perhaps because it was too small, or didn't even bother getting back to me. James (owner) took my call, patiently listened to what I needed, provided me with an extremely reasonable estimate, and was able to got me on the schedule for the following day. The next day James text me to confirm our appointment. Following the confirmation, Daniel (tech) called and apprised me of his ETA. Daniel arrived on time, replaced the post, and left the work area cleaner than when he arrived. These folks were great from start to finish. James n his son's crew is ah-freakin-mazing. Awesome clean work! They did such n amazing job on our patio we love it!!! Our HOA took a hundred years to give us an approval n James waited so patiently for us. As soon as we got the approval after 2 months of waiting, his son n his crew was at the house the next afternoon n finished the job in 1 day in the blazing heat. Too much time to reply to messages (sometimes a couple of weeks) It's frustrating not knowing what's happening, especially after you have given your non refundable deposit. I suggest checking with permit office to make sure it was done, mine was not 4 weeks later and I brought that to their attention, then it was done right away. had a small problem months after the job, but they came out right away and fixed it. On 8/9/22 we went under contract with James and Platinum Patio to have a 26 ft patio cover installed on our new home. When James came out to give the estimate, he explained everything in detail to which we felt comfortable going with his company. We gave a deposit of half the amount for materials and were told it would take 1-2 weeks to get supplies. After 2 weeks had past, we heard nothing. I had to continuously reach out myself multiple times just to get updates. I was then told there were delays from the manufacturer, which again is fine, but why not just simply update your customer? Following signing our contract, communication was piss poor at best. Lip service is excellent with this company prior to getting anything done, however, once a problem occurs that all stops. It took James and company over a month and a half to finally come and install our cover. That was ok and I was over it all already, but the problems did not end there. On a 26' cover, they only installed one downspout (gutter). So anytime it rained, I would continuously get drips from the other corner of the cover for days. I mean like 3-4 days due to the amount of water accumulated on the cover. I had to reach out several times and they eventually came and added another downspout. Despite this, we have had endless amounts of leaks from all over. This has been the most frustrating part of it all. We first encountered leaks where the cover meets the house. You would think that is a point of emphasis when sealing the cover, however, they had to come out twice to fix this as it continued to leak even after they "sealed" it again. To this day, they have come out at least 4 times to fix leaks on my cover. And what do you know, it is still leaking in between the panels again and dripping all over anytime it rains. This encounter with James and Platinum Patio has been easily the most frustrating part of home ownership. His lack of promptness to address customer issues is very concerning. I have numerous texts to him regarding these leak concerns as well as video and pictures over the past year, all to which I get no responses. I end up having to call numerous times to get through to him in which he once responded "oh yeah I got your text", yet never responds. So you blatantly ignored it for days knowing there was an issue? All in all our cover looks good, however, what good is it if it is not functioning as intended and workmanship is not up to standard? That is like putting lipstick on a pig. A lifetime warranty means nothing if you can't get them to come fix anything or at the very least just respond and acknowledge you. I have texted and sent pictures/videos to James of my most current leaks, and I have still no response. At this point, I have no choice but to start looking into initiating a contractor board complaint and contacting BBB. I really hate that it had to come to this as it's wasted so much of my time already. I'd be very weary of the lip service you'll get from the beginning because once the problems start, you'll be on your own. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money for a reputable company with better quality and customer service. read more

Still waiting for James to respond to my 7 text messages, 3 voicemails left on his cell and a voicemail on the website contact number from an appointment back on March 13. At 5:46 pm You let me know you wouldn't be at the 5:30 pm appointment, to which I text you back within seconds to reschedule. Communication was flighty during our initial installation but we prefer to support small family business and accepted it. We've considered you may not be in business any longer, we're not sure what's going on and it's none of our business but at least be a decent human and just respond. It's not a huge task and literally costs you nothing...Just a thought. We've moved on. read more

I've reached out too many to recall over the past several months, but never able to contact anyone. So how do you earn a one star Yelp review? Do a job and when your customer asks you to fix a defect in the install, you say "Can't believe we left it like that. Will come and and fix it." But you DON'T come out. Get contacted by your customer for 6 months asking to get it fixed and you say, "We'll get right on it", but you DON'T do anything. Ignore your customer texts and phone calls with NO RESPONSE. Say Daniel is coming out tomorrow, but NO ONE shows up. That is how you lose customers, James, and your business goes down the drain. read more

I would recommend this company to anyone looking for patio cover awning installation. I dealt with James throughout this process for a floating patio cover that was all solid except for a short section that was lattice for the side of the house to give sun coverage over pool equipments. James was right that no other patio cover installers fought to have everything open lattice switch was not what I wanted. His 2-man crew started the installation but unfortunately hit a hot water pipe. Main water pipe was switched off, and a plumber stopped by that late afternoon to open up the exterior wall for inspection. Water was under turned but was fixed the following day. It was left open overnight to dry out any residual water. The following morning after no leaks during usage. Everything was sealed and made to look like nothing happened. We agreed to 1 in spacing for the lattice roof on the contract that we signed with James. And they put them 2in apart, when we ask them to fix them they apologized but then they put them only 1 1/2 in apart. By looking at it you can't really tell but when I tried to tell them they messed up again, they stopped answering us. So over all our pergola looks nice but they didn't hold up their end of their own contract which is pretty sad. If any one uses them please go over contract before they start so they installed everything properly. read more
