Omg, so I'm bringing one of my daughters who has never been to played closet, and bringing in two giant totes full of new juicy couture fur coat, fur boots, and more with tags still attached to almost everything, mostly fall and winter, new adidas, some Levi and Fila and other work out clothes from Kohl's...brand name stuff as well as some awesome new jewelry, leather purses, ten pairs of new shoes and vintage stuff... I'm over 40, and never been told I'm too old to shop here, but these girls working today had no idea what was in the totes I brought but ... THEY made sure I knew they only bought things for "you know, like college and high school kids clothes..." she said in an apologetic tone. I said, that's what is in the totes...she said it may take a few minutes to go through a small pile she had on the counter. Two more people came in and she took care of their things and I waited 45 minutes while these girls sipped on drinks and helped the one or two stray customers and ignored my things. I was never approached for help to look for anything and was being ignored...After nearly an hour, and then standing at the counter as they glanced around doing nothing and not even asking me what I needed while standing at their counter...I just took my stuff and left. This Plato's is by far my favorite location! They always have such cute finds and their prices are so affordable I can't help but spend too much money here (and don't ever regret it)! The staff has a good attitude every time I'm there and even though they're busy they're always helpful and fast. I also sell my clothes here so I can shop while they shop and it's a win-win! These place is horrible!!!! I brought in dresses on hangers. All of them were brand new and very trendy summer dresses. They took one. Gave me $4.00!!! Their inventory they have is terrible. While I waited an hour for them to look at the items it seemed like everyone who came in picked up bags of clothes they refused. I should have read the reviews prior to wasting my time. I agree with many of these reviews. Perhaps these young generation of employees working here have no clue on what quality is and turn away many great pieces of clothing that people bring in for resale. Don't waste your time or energy even walking into this place. Worst resale shop I have ever been in. They are very clueless in fashion. I think the owner needs to educate them because I am sure their profits suffer immensely due to employees that don't know a damn thing about working in a resale shop. This location has a lot of potential due to its size and location- however the employees are ruining it. Ala (or alana something) was checking me out, huffed when having to remove the hangers from the clothes, and didn't say a word. Like the other reviewer mentioned, she never asked me for my phone number for rewards, put my debit card on the counter even though my hand was out, and slid my clothes to me and didn't say a word. These guys are alright. If you're trying to shop--great! You'll find cute stuff for some reasonable prices. If you're intending to sell clothes, don't come here. It's not for you. They're essentially only able to buy clothes that are overstock quality level-- not secondhand. Even the super cute vintage, lightly worn, name brand items they won't buy unless it looks like it's never been touched or if they do buy, you're getting maybe 10-15 bucks for two items (literally just sold a pair of lightly worn Roolee boots and free people jeans for $11 total together that were both over $50 each at store value) Customer service is just like any other retail store. Nothing special but nothing bad. I get it though, if it's a min wage job they aren't paid enough do much more than ring up items and re-rack. read more

Just visited this location to sell some clothing. I had 5 bags plus a bin full of clothing which I was told needed to be off hangers. So I spend 40 minutes in the parking lot (with a toddler) folding clothes and putting in bags so it would be easier for them to go through. There were many people working there but only one was kind. The rest did not seem to want to help me or interact with me (I'm no realizing it was probably because I'm a mom and had my toddler with me and maybe I just wasn't cool enough to sell clothes there). My bags were full of a mix of items including many higher end brands including Tory Birch, Seven for All Mankind, Theory, Lulu's, etc. They took maybe 3 minutes to go through the 5 bags of clothes and 1 bin (how does one possibly do that if they're actually looking at each item?) and they did not take even 1 item. I will never be back as a customer or as a seller. read more

The staff is amazing! I called yesterday and reserved 2 pairs of Levi's jeans that were posted on Instagram. Their WiFi was down, but the employee reserved them for me anyways even though he couldn't do it over the computer. I also traded in a pair of Levi's and was able to apply the credit to my purchase. I am bummed that they only offered me $6 BUT the nice male employee on the phone was worthy of a 5 star review! read more

There really has not been one time that I walk out empty handed. Their prices and inventory are always on point and I love the employees! They always make me feel welcomed. This is my favorite store, my sister in law & I look forward to shopping dates here. They're also great with buying from people, and have good taste. I went in there yesterday and not one person acknowledged me or said hi only one asked if I wanted to sell. All the others were grouped together like a flock of sleep gossiping. So the male worker who helped me walked me through the process and told me it would be a 15m wait. So I look around the store and see numerous items with tears and holes in them others looked extremely worn or had piling on them so I was definately not looking to trade. Once I get the text that the trade assessment is ready I go to the counter and again all of the female workers avoid eye contact and ignore me so I had to tell one of them I am ready. I ended up not selling anything but wow the snobby attitudes and poor customer service here is astounding. They do not need 6 teen workers here at most they need 3 workers someone over THIRTY managing the store and 2 younger workers. read more

I'm old enough to be the mother of the employees typically working at Plato's. What can I say? I am a huge advocate for reusing the resources we already have here on this planet and not creating more waste. I always find something cute! I also shop at thrift stores. But sometimes you need a selection that you can count on. If I need a nice dress, or a new pair of jeans, Plato's PV is a place in my rotation that I can count on to come through. The employees are overall pretty nice. I didn't know what to expect as a 40 something trying to shop amongst a more youthful crowd. But they were very pleasant and held their laughter at least until I left. read more

I always leave with the best stuff from this location. I have been to all the other locations and this one is BY FAR my fav! The items they take are great! Also, The staff working there is 100 percent different from the other locations. I love everyone there because they are super nice, greet me when I walk in the door like clockwork, Make conversation at the check out, and seem to be a staff that gets along. At the other locations it seems like the staff are all having side conversations about personal things and when I come up for help... I am bothering them. Working in the retail industry myself in my past.. THIS IS NOT OKAY. I should never need to wait for people to finish their convo before they grab me a room. I love how they have certain section "racks" for certain things like brands such as brandy melville, lululemon, free people, urban outfitters, and others! The employees are super helpful and friendly too! Been to this location twice. The staff are very young, which may explain the protocol there. Both visits I watched how the staff inspected clothes. Most customers including myself bring an entire bag of items. They literally look at the first 3 items and then toss the bag to the side. They don't even bother looking for that hidden treasure that just might be lurking at the bottom. Not only did I see this happen on more than one occasion, but also because none of my items on the bottom of the bag were touched. They were exactly how i had placed them. Let's also mention both visits not ONE item was bought by them! I was told they needed mall brands. Well had they actually looked in my bag they would have found even better than mall brands! All I see on their racks are worn out stretched sweaters, faded sweatshirts, outdated grandma jeans, so on so forth. I guess the take away is my items are to good for this store and I should see it as a complement. read more

Clothes for the late teen to early twenties sect. I'll pop in and out to check out the latest selection of shoes and purses, but goddamn their customer service is ridic. I can hear the angsty verbal eye rolling from the employees when they talk to clients over the age of 30. I actually heard the girl behind the counter mutter "Ugh, is that woman stupid or something? God." after a client had walked away after asking about details on her box of items to sell. I was literally right in front of her. wtf is this? I get it, the lady was like 50, but you're maybe 18 and barely employed so perhaps keep your snark to a minimum. This place is the best!!! I've been to several Plato's closets around the country, and this one, by far, is the top of the chain! I have become friends with the assistant manager, Kira, who is one of the best retail employees I've ever met and the rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful. For those who complain about not getting what you want because you're brands are "not what they are looking for" just know this: The store sells young, hip brands like H&M, Forever 21, Aeropostale, and A&F to name a few. It should be seen as a compliment that they won't take your $450 Prada wallet. read more

Walked into the store and was immediately greeted. One of the sales associates actually ran over to open the door for me as I had three large bags of clothes (thanks Angel!) Overall, my experience was great. Customer service is stellar, there's a fairly extensive selection of clothes, and they took a decent amount of my clothes. Not thrilled by this place. I was recently there with seven bags of clothes and other items to sell and they did not buy one thing from me. Most of the items I brought in were brand new with tags! I was turned away and told none of my items would be purchased because none were what they are looking for. I asked for the reason and they said it was because the clothes were faded and not the right style. Really? How is there fading on clothes that are brand new and have never been worn with tags still attached?? Since when are jean shorts, cotton skirts and cotton dresses not in style?? Since when is Hurley, Free People and Holister not in style?? I got very snobby vibes from the blonde who looked through my clothes. I bring in a bag full of brand new stuff I bought and never wore from Nordstrom and Nordstrom rack (true religions, cute crop tops and tank tops, brand name shorts) she checks it all, keeps a tank top from American Eagle (that was given to me 5 years ago) and a pair of shorts from Forever 21 , proceeds to tell me the other items are "too old, not in style and too worn" but well give you 3$ for these items here. Me and my friend brought in one bag of clothes each with everything washed, in good condition, and trendy brands. Waited 45 minutes to only be told they weren't taking a single item because the items were "worn and out of style". My friend only got $9 for some shirts and shorts after them being washed and dried that morning but was told they were "too damp to take". The two girls at the register were super unwelcoming and snobby. We were not asked if we needed any help as well as not being notified once our bags were ready to be taken home. I came in about two days ago with one bag of women's clothes with 1 item that still had the price tag on it not worn, two in perfect condition not worn, and 1 shirt that I wore MAYBE twice. I also brought in a bag of men's clothes that my roommate wanted to donate that were all clean and fine. They ignored my bags for a good 10-15 minutes when I was told it would take 10 minutes. Then they wrote my name on the board after going through the clothes in 3 minutes. So I go up and they give me both bags back because of their usual excuses, "they're too worn down", "not the style Plato is looking for" and all of that BS. Don't come here to sell your clothes, especially since mine looked a lot cleaner and nicer than half of what they sell. read more
