Just had the worst mani/pedi experience of my life!I went in with my daughter for a little pampering time. I have smaller nails but nothing unusual. My daughters nails are far smaller. However, it was so clear that the woman doing my manicure was telling the other salon workers about my nails. There were ten employees and each and everyone of them stared and walked by.The older gentleman painting my toes was shaking the entire time and just walked away and said my nails were too small. My female manicurist also walked away from painting my nails to demonstrate on her own hand in front of everyone how little my nails are. I was mortified. Never have I ever felt so uncomfortable getting my nails done. It even made my daughter uncomfortable. I will not be returning to this place every again. No point if they can't get the job done and talk about you vocally in front of the whole salon. Better believe I will be telling all my local friends to not waste anymore of their time at Pleasant Nails. Such a shame. read more

The person who did my nails had shaped them and made them all pretty and ready to be painted, but once she had me wash them there was another person in the chair. She said she was going to do her nails quickly then paint mine after. 30-ish minutes later I was still waiting... Another woman had finished my nails after waiting for so long... After not having my nails done for several months. I was excited to be finally be able to feel pampered again. I called to make a same day appointment for myself, my aunt, and cousin at 3:00 PM. The person who answered my call was very short with the conversation but assured me they time available. When we arrived, my appointment started after 3 and the other two appointments started about 35-40 minutes later than our scheduled time. After an hour and a half later my cousin had still not finished her appointment which was just for a full set. She was left multiple times as the nail technician went to attend other people in the salon. I understand that times are challenging right now and the salon is eager to take as many appointments as possible, but there is a difference between staying busy and not having staff available to properly attend to clients. Very disappointing for a mediocre experience. Would rather have spent more money at another salon that provided a quality experience and customer service. read more

The people were nice and I liked the look of my nails when I left. I had a dip set done and was amazed at the low prices for them. Sadly the next day one chipped and now it's been a week and 4 of my nails are broken which I had grown out with my last set of dip nails. This is my FAVORITE nail salon! I've been going for over 2 years now and no where else even compares. Everyone is so friendly, and caters to your individual needs. They have a wide selection of nail colors and even some that change colors with heat! Kenny has been doing my acrylics for years and always does a great job. They even fix broken nails for free :-) the salon is clean and beautiful and so relaxing. I especially love that they use liners in the tubs on their pedicure chairs. The place is pretty basic, no frills but it was clean and they had a good selection of nail polish. They don't take card but they do have an ATM machine. Wasn't a big deal to me to pull money out. This salon was recommended to me by a regular patron, and today was my first visit. I'm going to become a regular patron too! Julie just gave me a blissful pedicure. Here are the criteria I use to evaluate a nail salon: Pain-free - no pain today. I've had pedicures in other salons that were very painful, sometimes bloody. No pain at all in Julie's capable hands. Serene - at Pleasant Nails the employees don't chat with each other as they do in other salons. And no music. A pedicure, for me anyway, is on the par with meditation. The Pleasant Nail salon is super serene, super calm. Massage - I've never had a better foot or calf massage in any other salon. Although I wasn't aware of how much time Julie spent on it, it seemed like the longest massage I've ever had during a pedicure. And Julie doesn't massage the shin bone. I've had other pedicurists who rub hard on the chin bone which is annoying and not at all pleasant. It's the calf muscles that need attention, not our bones! For me, the massage is the main attraction! Nails - oh yes, the other main attraction. Perfectly trimmed, not too short or long. P.S. Call first. I was lucky to get in as a drop-in, but this salon can get booked up. They have an ATM in the salon, if you forget to stop at the bank. read more

DO NOT go to this place! I went for a pedicure, I believe the man's name was Kenny, I do not know if he is the owner, nor do I care. This guy was so rough using the small foot exfoliating bar, and not paying attention, that I had to say STOP!, the side of my toe was bleeding. He stopped, saw there was blood on the bar, shook it off in water, then returned it to his tool basket! When he saw I was concerned that it was bleeding, he got up and returned with a small tube with clear liquid in it. I thought, well at least he's going to put an antibiotic on it. I realized later, it was clear nail glue!!! He could have cared less. My mistake was not getting up right then and getting out of there! Upon leaving I told him it was terrible and he cut my toe, and put the tool back to his dirty kit. He said "No, No we clean tools!". Place is dirty. He is rude. In this day and age CLEAN tools are a Must at a nail salon. So is customer service. Never again They won't let me put 0 stars, so I have to put one, too bad read more

Where do I start with this place? Having had my nails done in less than a week, the gel nails have already started peeling to the point I had to just take them off. A gel manicure is supposed to last 2 weeks, not 4 days! And I honestly was not going to review this place but while I'm at it, when I came in to the place, I had a gel manicure that needed to be taken off and the girl soaked them and started taking them off with her nails, that's kinda gross! I tried them 3 times -- one pedicure and 2 manicures. The pedicure was slightly disappointing, but not as bad as the manicures. Their gel pedicure was THE most expensive I've ever had - $50 after tip - and they did very little in terms of removing dry skin. They also did not cut the nails down enough. The manicures, however, were far worse! The first gel manicure I got there didn't even make it beyond 1 week. When I went back for them to fix it, they refused to fix it unless I paid for a whole new one! (I'm sorry, but a gel manicure, when done properly, should last 3-4 weeks). I ended up paying because I needed my nails done for an event that evening. Unfortunately, the second one began CHIPPING after only about one week! Gel manicures should NEVER chip!!! That's the whole point - otherwise, what are we paying extra for? I will never recommend Pleasant Nails to anyone -- every encounter I had with them was disappointing and outrageously expensive. read more

On August 12th I purchased a gift certificate for a pedicure for my sister. Since then, she lost the certificate. I thought, no big deal, I will take my check copy to Pleasant Nails, they can cancel the open certificate, and issue another one, or simply give the pedicure(we were there to have the pedicure 10/2/12). I was wrong. The people working in the shop did not know what to do, said they could not do this, so they called the owner at my request. The owner was terribly unhelpful, and basically said the certificate could not be replaced. I had lost my money. Since this is a service, and they should have had records of all issued certificates and whether they had been used, there would be no reason they could not do this pedicure or issue another certificate to be used later while canceling the first one. Since they only take cash or checks, I cannot dispute this with my bank. The check has already been cashed. They have my money but will not provide a service. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. I had a pedicure and manicure here before my son's wedding. Amy did the pedi and she is great! Very gentle, and lots of time massaging my legs with a scrub, then lots of lotion. She is also very sweet. No so much for Kenny, who did my nails. He does a superb job, but is VERY unfriendly. He is also very rough with the filing board ...my fingers actually were sore after I got home. Several reasons I will not go back for a mani. # 1 it isn't the cleanest place I ve seen, although Amy did scrub out the foot bowl before filling it for me, #2 Kenny was talking s---t about me before I even left the place! This place is disgusting the nail polishes were old, waiting chairs were cheap and had stains. The floors were dirty and nàil polish stains were all over the lights at the pedicure station. This place used to be amazing however in the last few times going (I get my nails done every two weeks) the service has gotten lazy and sloppy. The time before my most recent visit, the gentleman doing my nails was busy watching football and didnt fully prep my nails for a fill and so with in a week 3 had broke off. This last time I went I had to have a full set put on and paid $50 for the ugliest nails ever. I asked for a pretty simple red tip and white polka dots and a black (which he had done another time for me)The black lines are sloppy and ugly, the polka dots were rushed through and it shows and instead on finishing my nails with the gel polish in which I asked for and PAID for he used regular clear coat (which gave me a headache) That was Saturday 11/7 and the paint is already chipping off !!!
