I am visiting back home from out of town, and I wanted to find a local roaster I could walk to on Broadway. Plucky's may not roast their own beans, but they buy locally roasted beans from Pacifica, and the woman who helped me knows how to work an espresso machine to produce a fantastic espresso. I also bought a delicious banana bread that was literally hot out of the oven. They also specialize as a board game place that serves wine and beer, and they stay open until 10 on Friday and Saturday night. Came by Plucky's as a happy accident! My partner and I were about to go to Cafe Capuchino across the street but didn't realize they were cash only. We crossed the street to go to the ATM and saw Plucky's right next to it and decided to eat here instead. First off, the kind Filipino man at the counter was so nice and welcoming! He told us as soon as we got to the counter about how they make their pastries from scratch every morning so I couldn't help but order a chocolate chip banana bread. It was soooo delicious! We also both ordered the smoked salmon Benedict, the bread it was served one was so unique (light, buttery with a slight crisp). I also ordered a butterscotch latte and my partner got a cappuccino, both super delicious. As for the atmosphere - spacious, welcoming, family friendly, clean, and lots of games everywhere! I love this place. It's so cute and I love having a place to do an activity while grabbing a drink or snacks. Love that they have breakfast options too. All the food I've gotten has been really great and the interior is so cute. I wish it was a bit more dog friendly, especially in the evenings when they have more people there just playing games. You can sit outside with your pets but there are only two super small tables. If I could bring my dog I would be here a lot more and maybe even work from here a bit because it definitely is a place you want to settle in and hang out in. Service has been amazing each time I've been and is the place I always suggest if someone wants to meet up for a quick bite or drink. read more

This cafe is one of the best experiences I've ever had. I was not only greeted with such warmth and kindness but the latte & smoked salmon flatbread was above and beyond. You could taste every note of the beans in the latte and the food was simply mouthwatering. The ambiance - the artwork on the walls and the live edge wood furniture is a modern take on the old Burlingame charm and it goes together so well. The outdoor tables were cute, and such a vibrant color, however they felt cramped on the sidewalk and did not provide a lot of space to play a game. I kept walking by Plucky's and decided to bring my family one Saturday - it was SO MUCH FUN! We got together a group of kid's friends and the kids and parents each played some games - the food is very elevated (think gourmet grilled cheeses) and the drink selection was great for kids/teens/adults. Plucky's is adorable and delicious. They make everything fresh. I had avocado toast and a fruit bowl. The hot sauce is perfect, the fruit bowl was full of perfectly ripe berries and mango. I really liked the smoke salmon toast since all the ingredients tasted fresh and the aioli was delicious. I also enjoyed the mushroom toast and strawberry spellweaver which was not too sweet.
