+ The Huevos Rancheros was deeelectable. - However, portion size was small; - A lil exorbitant. This $19 meal left me famished still. - Their software teased a 20%-off offer before actually granting it. Maybe you can manage to redeem it in time for your 1st order. - Confusing online ordering platform. The Huevos Rancheros ingredient list includes hashbrowns. Turns out it's one of the side options, not readily included in the main entree. It seems that by choosing fruit, the hashbrowns were excluded from the meal. :/ . A bit crowded, both seating and parking. + Polite, efficient, helpful service. + Pleasant ambience. - Burrito was a bit bland and dry. Needed plenty sauce & drink to flush it down bite by bite. + Also crunchy and yummy though. I had: $17 breakfast burrito + $19 huevos rancheros + a whopping 12.75% tax&fees = $40.59

Need a place for breakfast in an infrequently travelled area. So onto Yelp and found this gem. Decent sized place, indoor & outdoor seating & busy. Always a good sign. Lotsa parking & wait wasn't too long - prob helped we weren't picky about seating location. Name called, in line to order and told where to sit. Surprisingly food came quickly despite the large numbers of diners. For me the Mango Curd French Toast. 2 slices of Texas toast, well battered & smothered in mango curd sauce & fresh fruit accompanied with maple syrup. Excellent taste. For my companion the Short Rib Omelet - onion, peppers, mushrooms & tomatoes mixed with the rib and gravy. Meat was tender, but lacking salt it was still delicious. Huge recommendation for this one!

Wow! What beautiful plates of food and amazing taste. Came here for breakfast today and what a great experience. We ordered a cappuccino, salmon toast and lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes. The plates themselves are beautifully made. Vibrant colors and delicious flavors. Everything we saw being served looked amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Food was served quickly and hot. Not one thing was wrong or missing. Everything very clean and super clean restrooms. Highly recommend this location. A highlight to our morning.

Had such a nice breakfast at Poached Kitchen in Irvine with my aunt! I ordered the fried green tomato BLTA with a side salad, and it was fantastic. Fair warning though -- I got a little too excited and bit into it too early, and it definitely burned my mouth, so give it a minute to cool down! Totally worth the wait. I chose the side salad because fries or fruit in the morning probably would have put me straight to sleep during my drive up to Palmdale for a client meeting, and it ended up being the perfect choice. My aunt ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was rightfully massive -- definitely a hearty breakfast. The service was quick and efficient. It's the kind of place where you order at the counter, get a number, and they bring the food to your table, which made everything easy. I can imagine they get really busy on weekends. Best part? I loved my sandwich so much that I happily ate the second half for lunch later. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

This is a great spot! We were welcomed right when we walked in. The place is nice and bright with big windows, high ceilings and open seating. You order your food and then find your seat. There were so many yummy sounding items that it was tough to decide what to order. I'm not a traditional pancake person but they had a tropical one that sounded amazing. And I really want to try their chicken sandwich and breakfast burritos. I ended up getting the churro waffles with a side of the mango that went on those tropical pancakes and it was so dang good! We also ordered Birria Short Rib Eggs Benedict - with perfectly flavored meat and the best poached eggs on top, a macadamia nut milk latte - loved it so much, and a delicious Bloody Mary. The service was great, the place is nice, neat, and clean throughout, and we can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

We got there around 10 AM on Saturday and waited about 30 minutes to get a table. All the staff were friendly. You need to order at the register first, then they will assign you a table. I was happy to see they have a fun seasonal menu, like the mango French toast. I opted for something healthy and ordered the Asian salad with avocado. My group ordered the chilaquiles and the Benedicts. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed my mocha with oat milk. One note: we sat on their patio, and the fence was covered in spider webs. The tables are placed right next to it, so eating beside spider webs was very uncomfortable, to say the least. At one point, a spider even climbed onto my friend's pants. I hope management does better at cleaning their patio.

This is a counter to table service restaurant where you order first, get a table number, and they deliver your food. There was only one register but once the line got long, another person came to take our order which was nice. My husband and I shared our meals (I liked my order better haha) but I got the Fried Green Tomato BTLA because I was craving a sandwich. I love the idea of fried green tomato on a sandwich! It was a pretty filling sandwich and came with fries as well so I was really full after eating this. It's a seasonal item for their spring 2026, super delicious! It comes on a sourdough bread with remoulade sauce, lettuce, fried green tomato, bacon, avocado. My husband got the chicken a waffles. What we really enjoyed about this dish was the fact that the chicken was not greasy! Waffles were okay, not soft but more on the crispier side. But besides that it was tasty especially with the pork gravy. My husband also got an iced matcha half sweet, I'm not sure if half sweet ment less matcha but I did not like it at all. I think it's because he ordered it with matcha with oat milk but it just tasted like oatmilk and ice... but my husband still drank it all, I would probably try a coffee/espresso drink next time! Although it was crowded there were a lot of seats indoors and outdoors! We sat outside which was really nice, they were umbrellas but the sun felt good too. Nice place to have breakfast!

The system here is a little unconventional. You have to order before you sit down. Since it was my first visit and I hadn't seen the menu yet, I felt a bit rushed. That said, the food definitely beats the competition. We got the Birria Benedict and the breakfast burrito, and both were great. The Birria was a little on the salty side, but that didn't stop me. Also, the latte was fantastic. It's worth the stop, just do yourself a favor and look at the menu before they let you in the building!

I was in the mood for a basic breakfast as in eggs, bacon, and potatoes and some pancakes and this place definitely delivered!! Eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon nice and crispy and the potatoes were delicious! A pretty good size portion too, we shard this dish and the ricotta pancakes are a must have you get 3 with an order they are so fluffy and the generous scoop of ricotta topping on top was the chefs kiss!! Service was stellar, everyone was super kind and the tables were cleaned quickly and efficiently. They have so many items on their menu I will definitely be back!!

This has to be my FAV breakfast spot. Steak and eggs is just absolutely tasty. They make great cappuccinos as well. There's usually a line but definitely worth the wait.

This place is always packed on weekend mornings--there's almost always a line. We were lucky to grab a corner bar seat after about a 15-minute wait. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, and both came out perfectly crispy. Not many spots manage to get waffles truly crunchy, so that was a big plus. I chose the cinnamon sugar waffle thinking the flavor would be baked into the waffle itself, but it actually came from the butter, which felt a little odd--basically an extra dollar just for flavored butter. Was happy that they have Lavender Latte. It was delicious. Overall the experience was nice. The space is modern and roomy, and I like the setup where you order at the counter and they bring the food to you--definitely my kind of spot.

I got their short rib omelette and it was pretty good! I'm usually very particular about omelette because many that I have tried they put too much oil and the egg becomes hard and greasy. However, their omelette was very soft and fluffy. The short rib inside was also very tender. I would definitely come back for this dish. The hash browns was ok. A bit plain but they have salt on the side for you to add. The service was fast. Waited about 10 min. Getting a seat took a bit longer, maybe 30 min. The inside was pretty casual. There's seats inside and outside. Parking was easy to find since it's at a big plaza.

Great brunch spot. They are open till 2pm. The smash burger patty was not really "smashed" and the outside crust wasn't very crispy. But the flavor of the burger was great, juicy. The Dubai chocolate waffle was great! Wish there was a bit more pistachio flavor, didn't think it needed the extra syrup. Otherwise solid spot, the servers were a bit rude but overall great place.

I really enjoyed my meal here. Their quality in food shows in the taste and even their water is good. You get in line to order and pay and then you're given a table to sit at. Their customer service has been great out of the three times I've been there and they're not shy about enforcing COVID regulation which I really appreciate. The orange juice is amazing there and it's nice that if you're waiting in line you have Jamba Juice right next door. Definitely will be coming back! read more

I really love and appreciate the fact that the ingredients are locally sourced at Poached Kitchen. My boyfriend and I came here last week to try the food after I saw this place pop up in my coworker foodie group chat. Being a big fan of brunch, I was super excited to try the food. I had the Verde Chilaquiles and my boyfriend ordered the Huevos Rancheros. I preferred the Verde Chilaquiles to the Huevos Rancheros, but the salsa was not my favorite. My dish was a little soggier than I expected, as were the beans that were served with them, but it was overall still good despite this. The hash browns served with the Huevos Rancheros were not super crispy (we both like them that way) but also still good. The service was excellent though! Everyone working was very kind and our server made sure to come back several times to check on us and refill our waters. There was a good amount of outdoor seating with good spacing and sanitation. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu. read more

IN LOVE WITH THEIR WAFFLES! I came to this restaurant with my boyfriend (he loves only 5 mins away from here, yay!) and I have been dying to try their chilaquiles and fried waffle. Their waffle had to be one of the best tasting waffles I have ever had! Definitely 10/10. However the chilaquiles were not all that great. I loved how they put the black beans on the side but still the chilaquiles were pretty soggy and chips were not every crispy. I still had a great time and the customer service was extremely friendly! I cannot say a negative thing about Poached. The food is delicious - you can't go wrong with anything you order. One of my go-to items is the House or Salmon Benedict. Their waffles are crispy and all their compotes are always delicious. But beyond the yummy food, which we can get a lot of places - it's the service that keeps us coming back. The entire team is amazing, friendly and helpful. I know it can get pretty busy on the weekends - good brunch places always do - but they do their best to get people in quickly! It's always clean, too, which I appreciate! We are regulars and I bring my 90 year-old mother to Poached because the people take the time to show they care. Tip: order your hash browns extra crispy - it's the best! read more

This place was pleasantly good. I made me an omelette my way with spinach, onions, and quest fresco cheese, with chorizo. It was sooooo delicious!! It also came with an English muffin and hash browns, but in my opinion the hash browns were a little too crispy. If you loveee sweet coffee, try the dolce de leche latte!! read more

I am a huge fan of Poached kitchen. I frequently ate at the location in Downey and was excited when the Irvine location opened. On my second visit to the Poached kitchen, Irvine, I experienced something disturbing. While filling the water bottles, the server accidentally dropped the bottle cap on the floor, to my surprise, he picked it up and immediately, without washing it, used the dirty cap to cover the water bottle. I thought it was my obligation to notify the manager. The manager though, seemed rather dismissive and hastily ended our conversation. He did however, stated he would speak to his servers while he removed the water bottles. The problem is, the dirty bottle was already used to served guests. My concern is this, in this COVID 19 era, if they are comfortable being so unsanitary, what else should I be concerned about. Also, the manager was clearly bothered that I brought this to his attention. This is a BIG problem. Eat at your own risk Beloved neighbors. The owner response below is untrue. My husband and I sat there and watched the server recapped the water bottle with the dirty cap and served the water to table 48 outside seating. I'm not trying to cause any issues here, just thought you needed to be aware and provide additional training to your staff. Being dishonest in your response is very disappointing. read more

Have been here twice and this place doesn't disappoint. Especially for a brunch spot! Service: attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, FAST!!! Food: yummy, great quality!!! I ordered their house benedict. It was really good. Great location, has plenty of seating inside and outside. I've been to a few other brunch locations where you would have to wait a long time just to get seated and the food is mediocre. Especially places like Snooze or Everyday Eatery where it can take 1-2 hours just to get seated/fed. Will definitely be back!!! :) read more

So happy to have another place to add onto my list of weekend brunch spots. We arrived at 1:20pm, 40 minutes before they closed, and there was still a decent line out the door. We were greeted by the host who took down our names and number of people in our party. He explained that it's assigned seating and we order and pay for everything at the counter. You wouldn't be able to order unless a table was available. This is actually a great system because it is very awkward having to scout a table after you order and low-key competing with other parties to get the table first. Surprisingly the line went by super quick - waited 10 mins max. Probably because we came at an off time and most parties were leaving at that point. Once we ordered, the cashier let us know our table number. Some memorable things - the hash browns were super crispy and delicious! I hate going to breakfast places and their potatoes are not crispy. Substituting the whole milk in my latte for almond milk didn't have an extra charge. There were a decent amount of toppings on our baked apple pancakes. It looked like if you wanted to add additional items to your order after you've already been seated, you'll be able to pay from your table via a waitstaff. We also got the Chile Verde Benedict but we were disappointed by the amount of pork. But overall it tasted great. Our service was super great - from the host, the cashier, and the people bringing out our food and taking our plates. We will definitely be back to try the other menu items. read more

This has turned into our regular breakfast spot and for many reasons. We love the service, the staff, the fresh non gmo/ organic centered food practices, and the ample parking. All of their hot drinks are delicious (I love that you can choose almond, oat, or whole milk). My favorite dish here is their yogurt granola bowl with fresh berries and honey. I also love their egg dishes. Oh, and those hash browns are damn good too!!! The owner is a great guy and we love supporting small businesses. read more

Absolutely amazing staff!! EVERYONE was so welcoming and nice/funny. The food was delicious. My new favorite spot to eat. And again I have to say how amazing their customer service is!!! WOW! I was blown away by the entire establishment, it makes me sad that there are only two locations in SoCal! The service was great, you order and pay for your food first and then seat yourself which is nice cause I feel like you avoid having to wait for a busy server. They had nice patio seating and heaters for when it's cold. I ordered the house Benedict and crispy hash browns and the food was amazing! The hash browns didn't need ketchup, sauce or even salt and pepper really as they were well seasoned with a creamy buttery taste. The eggs Benedict were absolutely delicious and I was very happy with the portion size of everything. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive even though they were busy. Looking forward to coming back soon and trying something else on the menu. read more

Since the opening of poached, my boyfriend and I were extremely excited to try out their menu! We went during the outdoor dining patio only and for service and all, everything went well. The food came out in a timely manner, but they totally forgot to bring out my boyfriend's meal as we had waited 20 minutes longer for his to come out after my food came out first. I soon realized that they really did forget to bring out his food so we asked them and they apologized and said it will be coming out in a few. After a reminder, they brought out his food. All in all, aside from the mini confusion, the food was okay. It didn't taste like anything new or fancy. Just some regular breakfast with a nice vibe and outdoor dining. It was expensive as well, since it is in the heart of Irvine. If you want some good breakfast that is cheaper, going somewhere else might better suit your taste. read more

Came here with my wife and son on a Sunday morning thinking it would be a long wait but it absolutely was not. They are very fast and efficient in seating you and taking your order. Delicious and fresh with the fastest turnaround time on order! I'm ready to go back for more. I've stuck with the classic breakfast and it's solid!!!! I usually try to eat a moderate amount but this place makes me clean my plate each time. I'm ready to try the waffle chicken, pancakes, etc. the short rib omelet was incredible and not advised if you have things that need your full attention after the meal cuz this will put you down for a nap if you're not careful, lol! read more

WOW! Just WOW! Everything from the customer service to the taste of the food was absolutely AMAZING. These huevos rancheros were PACKED with flavor and the hash browns were such a nice touch! I walked into this place to finally experience the excitement I had been hearing about, fully expecting a wait to be seated. To my pleasant surprise, we were able to enter and place our orders without any delay. The menu is of a substantial size, offering a wide range of options that all appear and sound incredibly appetizing. After some contemplation, I settled on the breakfast burrito and the banana foster french toast. The breakfast burrito, while not large in size, bursts with a harmonious blend of flavors that truly complement each other. These flavors stand on their own merit, requiring no additional sauce or accompaniments. Nevertheless, I decided to sample the provided sauce to explore its impact. I was content to observe that both with and without the sauce, the experience remained highly satisfying. The sauce seamlessly enhanced the burrito's components without overpowering them. As for the banana foster french toast, it was equally delightful. Packed with irresistible flavors, it was so rich in taste that I found no need to use the syrup. In fact, I found it even more enjoyable without the syrup, as its addition, while sweet and good, detracted from the inherent flavors already present in the french toast. The restaurant boasts a well-thought-out layout and the staff members are uniformly friendly. Despite a bustling and slightly noisy atmosphere, there is ample seating, contributing to an overall positive experience. Creating a review specifically for this restaurant, second time attempting (lol) My husband and I are visiting from overseas, so this was our first time at poached kitchen of Irvine. It was cold and raining with a 15/20 minute wait. The woman who was seating parties out front was going down the line asking if anyone wanted hot tea or hot coffee while they waited. Me being crazy, ordered an iced latte and when she gave it to me she also brought me a cup of warm water to keep my other hand warm. She told us her name but I forgot, she was blonde if that helps. The person who took our order was Kylee U, I wouldn't be surprised if she created the menu herself, for her knowledge and suggestions were so detailed. We apologized for taking so long and asking so many questions but she smiled and said not to worry and answered every question we had. She was lovely. Although we should have listened to Kylee's suggestions , we ended up not being a fan of the Chilaquiles and the manager Sotiri Mantis came over and got us something new and even though he seemed busy he took time to come back over and make sure we liked our new meal. It's not very often that you see a manager so interactive with the customers and walking around helping out the other employees. Throughout our meal 4 different people asked us if we were doing okay, service was super attentive for being set up like a fast food restaurant. Food was fresh and tasty. My sweet ice tea was refilled by a busser without me even having to ask. 11/10 recommend Poached Kitchen of Irvine for even the service alone ! read more

Even though the line was long when we got there, the wait actually wasn't bad at all! The staff has a super-efficient way of handling the crowd, you order and pay first, then get seated once your table is ready. We ended up sitting at the bar, which turned out to be perfect because you can see the kitchen line working non-stop and the servers hustling around getting food out. I ordered the Chilaquiles with a Matcha Latte, and both were really good! My boyfriend went for the Birria Benedict with a Vanilla Latte, and everything came out fresh and flavorful. We also ordered the fresh-squeezed orange juice, and OMG probably the best OJ I've ever had! So bright, sweet, and refreshing. My only minor complaint -- I asked one of the staff behind the bar for a serrano pepper on the side, and she said it would be $4 extra. I've never been charged for a pepper anywhere, so that threw me off a bit. But aside from that, everything else about our experience was positive. Great food, great energy, and an impressively well-run brunch restaurant despite how busy it gets. Would definitely come back again, maybe just skip the extra pepper next time. read more

This time, I went for the morning scramble, and it was just as amazing--the eggs were cooked to perfection, and the hashbrowns were so tasty. Upon my recent visit to Poached Kitchen, I was thoroughly pleased with the culinary offerings. Their fried chicken sandwich exuded a delightful taste, and the chicken Tinga sope was equally commendable. The ambiance inside the restaurant radiates a modern, chilled vibe, which adds to the overall dining experience. However, a notable area of improvement would be the outside patio seating. The umbrellas collected water on top, and when they were moved, the water unfortunately spilled over our belongings, including cell phones and an air pad. It was also necessary for us to request the staff to clear away the water from the tables and chairs before we could comfortably settle down. While the aforementioned incident did cast a shadow on our visit, the food and interior ambiance have cemented my desire to return. It is my hope that the establishment takes note of these concerns to provide an all-round exemplary experience for its patrons in the future. read more

However, while I was eating at the front counter, I couldn't help but overhear a conversation among employees regarding their concerns about the management. Having experienced difficult management myself in the past, I was disturbed by the story being shared by one of your team members. It is disheartening to hear that employees may be facing such challenges, especially when they are clearly working hard to provide excellent service. The servers were kind and attentive, and their positive attitude contributed to a pleasant dining experience. It was unfortunate to overhear the challenges they were facing with management, as it contrasted with the otherwise positive atmosphere created by the staff. While the food and refillable coffee was great, I feel it's important to bring attention to the working conditions that your staff may be enduring. read more

Came in on today with my dad we were soooo hungry wasn't much of a wait we got to the counter and ordered our food and then went to our table inside. Cool walls there's funny stuff on em and feels cozy. Not too long after we were seated the gifts from the kitchen arrived. I got the chicken and waffles and my dad got eggs Benedict. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THIS CHICKEN !!! a crunchy CRUNCH JUICCCYY inside still . The waffle....light....fluffy....crispy....not overly sweet at all which I liked a lot and then to top it off that gravy !!! Get me a bucket of that gravy I'd drink it all!!!!!!! My dad was super pleased with his egg benedict he liked his egg was "poached" perfectly!!!! I tried some of hash browns and the ketchup which they make in house and they were great too! Where do I begin.... Came in Sunday morning with my girlfriend and this place was packed. The host Vinny greeted us with a friendly nice attitude and explained how the whole process works. The line to enter this place reminded me of a line at Disneyland. Do not let that discourage you because the line moves fast. They definitely have a really efficient and smooth system going. Once we entered we walked in to a cute and lively place with beautiful menu boards to order from. Being first timers we looked confused on what to order but the cashier helped us out with some recommendations which were helpful. We ordered the breakfast burrito and Pumpkin waffle and we were glad we did. Food took about 10 minutes to come out which was fast considering how busy they were. Everything was spectacular to food, speed of service, and friendly staff that made our dinning experience great! 10/10 read more

Came here on a Sunday around 12:30pm, and the wait was around 30 minutes. Once you enter the restaurant, you place your order at the counter and they bring the food to you. It came out quickly. My bf and I split the pesto and ham toast and the baked apple cakes. The presentation of everything was so nice! The pesto and ham toast was missing something in my opinion. Maybe needed a little more pesto or maybe I needed to eat with my hands to get all the flavors at once. The ham was kind of plain, and the arugula was overpowering. The baked apple cakes were yummy! The pancakes were soft and fluffy. The 3 pancakes were so large! Maybe they could have made an apple cinnamon sauce to add more flavor. My friends got the omelette and the tacos. Good breakfast/brunch spot. Nice eclectic menu. Great egg dishes, fresh squeezed Orange juice, fresh and great service. Few things I don't love: 1. Hollandaise is a no-go. They need a more traditional hollandaise recipe. Theirs misses the mark of what you want in a delicious eggs benedict. 2. Hashed Browns are more mashed potato then crispy. I would rethink this. (Even when you ask for crispy at best it's crispy outside but still mashed potato inside). 3. Their "ketchup" is not good. It's more tomato paste then anything else. 4. They don't accept cash. I usually pay with card when I go out but I still don't think they should go this route just yet for others. Food for thought. But overall- it's worth the try as they iron out a few menu kinks. read more

Upon arriving at this restaurant with my family, I was pleasantly surprised by the lively and amusing animations across the walls. The open-style kitchen and friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere. Instead of being seated and then ordering, we ordered our dishes and then sat with our numbers. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it was amazing, but the star of the dish was the hash browns. They were the best hash browns I've ever had, with a perfect crunch and mixed with cheddar cheese which added an incredible flavor. My family also enjoyed their dishes, and we all agreed that the hash browns alone were worth the visit. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a unique and tasty breakfast experience. read more

She was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in the door. She made sure to seat me at a comfortable table and provided great recommendations for menu items in the rush we were in. Said they were open setting. When I left to grab my drink from Jamba Juice my table number was moved. Apparently to accommodate a bigger party that was behind me but why would you say open seating if it was not open seating. Chloe explained to me that I should have picked a smaller table and not a larger one. That makes sense to me, but I told her that I wished she would have asked me before just moving my table and she said it's because I wasn't in the building to ask (keep in mind I ran to Jamba Juice for 2 seconds to pick up a drink) she rolled her eyes at me and was super rude.the table next to me even apologized to me for her attitude. 1/10 for service will not be returning. read more

The wait staff all appeared disgruntled, which showed in their customer service. While the front staff were kind, the wait staff were visibly unhappy when asked for basic necessities like water and utensils. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but this was the majority of the wait staff on both visits. The food quality is subpar compared to standard breakfast spots, yet the prices make you feel like it should be Michelin-starred. For the prices they charge, there are plenty of better alternatives to spend your hard-earned money on. read more

If I could give Poached Kitchen 10 stars, I absolutely would! Every single time I come here, the customer service is consistently amazing and the food is just as incredible. They are always friendly, welcoming, and on point. One of the things I love most is how fast they prepare the food. It is ready almost as soon as I get there! I'll place my takeout order, hop in the car, and by the time I arrive, it's hot and waiting for me. No long waits, no stress, just awesome service. And the breakfast? The best. Seriously.
