I can't believe I didn't try Poached Kitchen sooner! We came here around 7:30 am on a Friday and had a great breakfast before work. I ordered the chili verde omelette and my fiancé got the breakfast burrito. Both dishes were so hearty. We also got fresh orange juice and their cold brew. I LOVED the cold brew because it was strong, non acidic. Friendly staff, nice ambiance. I can see how this place can be super crowded on the weekends so you'll see us back here on the weekdays. read more

I ate here a long time ago when they first opened, and it was good. I recently went back, and the food was even better. It's usually busy. The waffles are very light; they taste like malted waffles. We got the classic one with berries and whipped cream. Pretty presentation. I would get them again. The veggie scramble was good. I like that they put a lot of veggies in there. The hash browns are very decadent. Lots of grease (not sure if they use oil or butter or both). Crispy outside and almost mashed potato-y inside. They're good but very rich, so I couldn't eat all of it. The dulce de leche latte was not my favorite. It tasted watered down and not good. I will not order any drinks here in the future. The espresso did not taste like quality neither did the milk nor anything else in the drink. I threw most of it away. What a waste. My kids shared the breakfast burrito, and that looked filling and good. The meat on the benedict was soft and tasty. Atmosphere is all right. The patio is in the parking lot. Not so great. Service was fine. They bring the water to you. read more

Ordered scrambled eggs to-go and the pickup process was simple. There is a small lot to park in with a space for to-go orders. Went to the bar area and it took a couple minutes for anybody to notice me. I thought I was in the wrong area, but luckily someone ended up helping me a couple minutes later. The menu has unique twists on classic diner favorites which convinced me to stop by for breakfast. The food itself was above average compared to other breakfast cafés. The eggs were a little flavorless (many restaurants add milk or filler to increases the amount) , but the toppings within the scrambled eggs were good quality. The bacon was crisp and I enjoyed the fresh chives. The hashbrowns were my favorite! They tasted homemade, the potatoes were sliced thick, and they were crispy on the outside. I will definitely be back! read more

This review is for their takeout only but I will add that it is because the line in the mornings can get pretty long. The ambiance of the interior, however, was modern, clean and welcoming. The service was great, too, as picking up my order took less than a minute. Ordered the Scramble Breakfast, Chile Verde Benedict, and Waffles. Although the scramble seemed fairly standard to the eye, that was not the case with the taste. It was hearty, filling and flavorful. The chicken sausage was especially a hit with just the right amount of flavor to complement the egg and other ingredients. Chile Verde Benedict was indeed wow and a recommended item. Freshly prepared with fresh ingredients makes a difference. The running egg simply made my mouth water. Finally the Waffles were also good, but I have to admit that it is a bit pricey for what it is ($15). I've also tried the chicken and waffle and I recommend that as a better bang for the buck. Notwithstanding the price, the chicken is far superior than any other chicken places I've tried. Located in the Harvard and Main Street Plaza in Irvine, there's usually plenty of parking next to Ralphs if the spots right in front of the restaurant are taken. Just try to get there early to avoid the lines! read more

Got the breakfast burrito and I was quite surprised at how yummy it was! I shared my burrito with a friend and it was a perfect amount so I'd say it is quite filling. There was also not too much of a wait. You order at the kiosk and they give you a number and they've already put the number down at a table for you to sit at. I thought the line would take longer to wait in but we didn't wait that long which was nice because we were hungry and was a little discouraged looking at the line. Parking: Small parking lot in front of restaurant, but also plenty of parking in the bigger lot by the grocery store around the corner. Experience: We came around 11am on a Sunday for brunch and there was a line out the door, but it moved really quickly. You order at the front, and then get a number and sit down at any open table. Food: Everything on the menu sounded delicious! Prices seemed ever so slightly less than most LA/OC brunch spots. The service was really quick, I think we got our food under 10 minutes after we ordered at the front. I got the chile verde benedict and it was SO flavorful and a solid amount of food. My party and I were excited to try out Poached Kitchen because of the wonderful reviews. As I was looking at the menu, the lady who placed my order seemed a little irritated about what dish flavor I should try, as well as the gentleman who came out and asked if I wanted my egg on a separate plate because she mistakenly put the wrong order for me and had to change it. The food did not have much flavor. I do appreciate the presentation though, the plating was pretty. The restaurant was a nice and quiet place in the morning so that was nice. read more

I love poached for a healthy breakfast! I have a gluten allergy... So I typically choose their Chilaquiles Verde and add Pork. Today I ordered to go, and it was still the same beautiful presentation and large portion as dining in. Everyone here was so friendly and the service was great, but the food was lackluster. We ordered the verde chilaquiles and the short rib dip. I also had their Vietnamese latte (which is their twist on a Vietnamese iced coffee). I thought that was way too sweet for me. As for the food, it was all kind of bland. I was staying at a hotel close and I yelp places for breakfast. This place came up. I came here right when they open at 7am for breakfast. It was very clear inside. I ordered the Chile Verde Benedict with has browns. It was The services was great. Once put in my order, it didn't take long until came out. I got my order and the first bite was very tasty, especially when you cut the egg open and yolk come out. Luckily I came in just in time because it got busier after I got there. Overall I have a good experience and will come again (maybe try something new) when I'm in Irvine again. read more

Very tasty, delicately cooked, great presentation for brunch. We went back three times in a week for our stay in Irvine. Waffle - very light, beautifully served. A+ Salmon Benedict- tasty, beautifully served A- Apple pancake- pretty good B+ Iced Latte - a bit too light not very good B - Price - higher side. For 2 for brunch $50 You order, pay and wait at the table. You have to pay tip before you eat and be served which doesn't make sense for tip's purpose. Amount of food is not much. Our stomach is always 50% full and we need to find other restaurants for more snack and food. read more

Came here for a nice brunch with friends. It was packed when we arrived but luckily there was lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They had a nice yellow aesthetic inside. There was a bit of a line but it gave us time to decide what we wanted. I wanted something lighter so I ordered a Salmon Toast with a Dulce de Leche. The food came out at a normal pace and our waiter was attentive and friendly. The food tasted very fresh with a burst of citrus in each bite. The coffee tasted super sweet, which I enjoyed a lot. This place is very very good. The food is always hot and you can tell they care about their product. I'm very picky with eggs benedict and have a hard time finding good ones in restaurants, and I would definitely order it again here! Breakfast burrito delicious and balance. The smash burgers were very nicely seasoned along with the fried onions having almost a bacon quality. Eating outdoors is a nice experience since most of it is shaded. My friend and I were craving both sweet and savoury... so we came here! I got the chilaquiles rojos with a side of fruits and it was amazing!! It had the right mix of flavors and textures. I tried some of the waffle and it was good too. With the syrup, it was very sweet but still good. I would recommend friends to come here for brunch! A great option for breakfast in Irvine! I came on a Sunday morning around 1030 with my friends, and despite there being a long line (maybe 15-20 people in front of us), we were called in after about 10 minutes of waiting (we chose first available and were seated outside). You go to the counter and order, and after ordering, you find your table. Food comes out fast, like within 10 minutes of ordering. My friends and I got the short rib benedict and the chilaquiles verde; both were great, but the short rib was more like pulled pork with Asian flavors. Prices are what you would expect for breakfast in Irvine. read more

I came here for brunch recently and really liked it! The vibe is super cute. Bright, clean, and kind of the perfect Saturday Brunch spot. It's chill enough to sit and talk without feeling rushed. I got the California Benedict and it was delicious. The eggs were poached perfectly (rare for most brunch spots lol) and the potatoes on the side were crispy and seasoned well. The service was friendly and the food came out pretty fast even though it was busy, which I appreciated. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's a little pricey for what it is, and the coffee was just okay. Not bad, but I've had better. Overall, I'd definitely come back. It's a solid brunch spot, and I want to try their pancakes or breakfast burrito next time! read more

I always love coming here after a camping trip or a retreat because I happen to be driving through in the morning. Some of their best dishes for me have been the tiramisu pancakes, anything with short ribs in them, simple breakfast with eggs and protein. One of the things that I especially appreciate about this restaurant and restaurants in general is the team culture environment. This establishment demonstrates that really well with their level of service, but also the way that they interact with each other is friendly and supportive, and it just helps to build an atmosphere That the feels easy to relax, you will be taken care of. read more

Coming in you get to order the food first, which is great when you have more than one person in the group. So no trying to figure out how much everyone has to pay. I ordered the chilaquiles. There was verde sauce, cojita cheese and egg. It would be good with some chicken and carne asada. I also like it drenched with sauce. So it was ok. Not some thing i would get again. I got the peach tea, and it tasted really good. Very refreshing. I also loved the chocolate waffles. It was crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. With the whip cream and fruits, it was perfect. I'd come back for the waffle for sure. There are no servers, but food runners/bussers. They work hard and fast. Despite being busy, they are very kind. I'll probably come back to try more. read more

For context me and my girlfriend were meeting up the rest of our party that had already arrived at the restaurant. Once we got there we met them inside only to be kicked out because we could not wait in the hallway (no one was there besides us) but it was raining. The hostess was extremely rude when she told us to go outside even though we had just gotten there. Then she told us that we had 20 minutes to order or we would not be served. Mind you this was before we even got sat. Not a great way to start our experience but everyone else was kind. Please work on making others feel welcome, especially if it's raining and we have to wait outside! read more

We came for brunch to celebrate Son's 1st Father's Day. Open daily from 7am to 2pm, no reservations are accepted. Hubby and I arrived at 10:40am to put our name down. We were told there was about a 20-minute wait, which worked well for us, as the rest of our party was expected about 11am. When your name is called, you are directed to the counter to place your order and make your cashless payment. Afterwards, we were shown to our table. The drinks arrived first, with our food very shortly thereafter. Hubby got a good-sized portion of chicken and waffles, served with syrup and country gravy. My Short Rib Benedict had a nicely runny poached egg. Son's Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Cakes was presented with a topping of fresh blueberries, sliced almonds, a pretty mint sprig, and a generous dusting of powdered sugar. They were fluffy and even the 8-month-old baby liked them. DIL and I got Dulce de Leche and Matcha Lattes. A sign in the front requests that parties do not stay past 1 1/2 hours. There is seating both inside and outside. Located at the shopping center at Main and Harvard in Irvine, parking was pretty impacted with Ralph's and CVS nearby. Food and drinks arrived pretty quickly, and we did not feel rushed, even though the place was packed. read more

We were looking for a breakfast spot before doing some shopping and we found Poached Kitchen on Yelp. You order up front and pay, then take a number to your table that you pick. We sat outside on a small patio area. We ordered the mimosa package, Salmon toast and Wild Mushroom toast. The Mimosas were a whole bottle of Brut and carafe of orange juice. Honestly not bad for only $30! We shared the 2 toasts and couldn't decide which was our favorite because they were both amazing. I'm probably leaning towards the mushroom but the salmon was incredible too. It was just the right amount of food before going shopping and there Uber driver picked us up and to the mall we went. Ordering and paying up front made it quick and easy and the food quality was on point. If I'm in the area again I would definitely stop back. read more

I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good the breakfast was at Poached! POSITIVES 1. The servers are super attentive and refilled my coffee a lot (even though I didn't want any more... because the black coffee was just horrible) 2. They let you swap for egg whites for a more macro friendly breakfast! The arrachera scramble was to die for!!! Also it comes with bread which is also so so good BUT they pre-butter it :( Not macro friendly so I wish they disclosed that so I could opt out of it. 3. There's a Ralph's nearby in the same lot so it's perfect to do a grocery run while you're out! NEUTRALS 4. You order at the counter and then are seated - this means your entire part has to be there before you can order and get seated. Could be a good or bad thing for you and your party if you have stragglers! 5. Parking directly in front of the place is limited but there's plenty of parking in the same plaza around the corner. I've come to Poached Kitchen twice already and I have really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. What I've enjoyed the most was the salmon eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce is really tasty and they top the eggs with capers and include plenty of salmon. You can choose fruit, salad, hash browns, or house potatoes on the side. We've also ordered huevos rancheros, baked apple cakes, chilaquiles verdes, and a matcha latte. All the dishes and the latte have been delicious. The only con I would say is that the dishes are on the pricier side. The restaurant is clean and has nice decor. They have a patio outside as well. read more

I would give this spot 6 stars if I could. Possibly the best salmon benedict I've ever had and I've had a lot of them. The ingredients tasted so fresh and the flavor was so perfectly balanced. The hashbrown was also a candidate for best I've eaten. Cooked so perfectly with a buttery finish. It wasn't hard and crunchy like some hash browns and was very mouth watering. Parking is very good, I had no problem parking on a very busy day. There is no fee for parking. Could fit 20, placing several tables together. I am sure the restaurant manager would accommodate if asked early on. The food (breakfast) is outstanding!

For years, Hangar 24 has been a place where families can gather, enjoy great food and drinks, listen to live music, and allow their children to safely play and have fun. It has created a welcoming environment that appeals to a broad audience, and that family-friendly atmosphere is one of the reasons so many people continue to return. Last night, however, I noticed a significant change that concerned me. Instead of having the live band perform earlier in the evening, a DJ played first and the band performed much later. Many people, including myself, came specifically to enjoy the live band, and the new format seemed confusing to much of the crowd. As I observed throughout the evening, very few people were dancing during the DJ set. Most guests remained seated, looking uncertain about the change. In addition, some of the music selections and volume level felt inappropriate for a venue that attracts so many families with young children. I noticed several children covering their ears, and many parents appeared uncomfortable. From my perspective, Hangar 24's customer base is largely made up of families. Those families purchase food, drinks, and often stay for several hours while their children enjoy the outdoor space. By scheduling the live band later in the evening, many parents are forced to leave before the performance begins because their children are tired or it is simply too late for a family outing. If the goal is to attract a younger nightlife crowd, a better approach might be to have the live band perform earlier in the evening when families are present and then transition to a DJ later at night for guests who prefer that atmosphere. This would allow both audiences to enjoy the venue without alienating the families who have supported Hangar 24 for years. I am sharing this feedback because I genuinely enjoy coming to Hangar 24 and want to see it continue to succeed. I believe many guests share these concerns, and I hope management will carefully consider how these changes may impact the loyal family customer base that has helped make Hangar 24 such a popular destination. It made me want red pepper flakes + parmesan cheese so this was also a great bagel. - Bagels were on the lighter side which I personally like because I can enjoy cream cheese + toppings more. Many bagelries I've been to have thick bagels, which is great, but I get stuffed from all the dough (lol!), so I enjoyed the lighter bagels here, but they did seem a little over toasted, as in crisper/harder. Really wanted to share our honest experience here with the bagel flavors as Rise has gotten so popular. As few have mentioned, for the price, more exceptional flavor was anticipated, so it was a true 3.5/5 experience for me personally. They also do not allow any modifications whatsoever at all. We got there late, they close at 2 pm, but they let us know we can stay to eat, but we didn't want to keep them waiting due to us late stragglers so we went outside to eat and it was beautiful and really nice! Parking on a Friday evening was a nightmare and it took over 30 mins to find a spot, and even then we considered ourselves lucky judging my the large number of cars still circling. I was in town recently, and after dinner(elsewhere in Irvine) we decided on Suul and Beans for some Bingoo dessert. We shared 2 Strawberry Bingsoo among the 4 of us. This visit reminded me why I normally don't choose to come here, except for convenience reasons, like on this evening. Their Bingsoo is too icy and is not creamy and pillowy soft like other BIngsoo shops. Their Bingsoo almost tastes like shaved ice with fruit on top. Also, the condensed milk was given to us in a small cup and wasn't mixed in the bottom layers of each bowl. So, it was icy at the bottom, all the way to the top and then some strawberries with a condensed milk drizzle, a few mochi pieces, and then we were given a small cup of the condensed milk to sweeten it up ourselves. I don't think I will be back, except if I really don't have a choice for a dessert nearby.

Perhaps they were trying to redefine the classic, but sometimes, simplicity is key. Their hashbrowns were little crispy wonders truly stole the spotlight. With a tantalizingly crunchy crust and a heavenly mashed potato texture inside, they were a delightful surprise. If you're a fan of these golden-brown delights, consider ordering a side of hashbrowns to make your meal a winner. I walked into this place to finally experience the excitement I had been hearing about, fully expecting a wait to be seated. To my pleasant surprise, we were able to enter and place our orders without any delay. The menu is of a substantial size, offering a wide range of options that all appear and sound incredibly appetizing. After some contemplation, I settled on the breakfast burrito and the banana foster french toast. The breakfast burrito, while not large in size, bursts with a harmonious blend of flavors that truly complement each other. These flavors stand on their own merit, requiring no additional sauce or accompaniments. Nevertheless, I decided to sample the provided sauce to explore its impact. I was content to observe that both with and without the sauce, the experience remained highly satisfying. The sauce seamlessly enhanced the burrito's components without overpowering them. As for the banana foster french toast, it was equally delightful. Packed with irresistible flavors, it was so rich in taste that I found no need to use the syrup. In fact, I found it even more enjoyable without the syrup, as its addition, while sweet and good, detracted from the inherent flavors already present in the french toast. The restaurant boasts a well-thought-out layout and the staff members are uniformly friendly. Despite a bustling and slightly noisy atmosphere, there is ample seating, contributing to an overall positive experience. Creating a review specifically for this restaurant, second time attempting (lol) My husband and I are visiting from overseas, so this was our first time at poached kitchen of Irvine. It was cold and raining with a 15/20 minute wait. The woman who was seating parties out front was going down the line asking if anyone wanted hot tea or hot coffee while they waited. Me being crazy, ordered an iced latte and when she gave it to me she also brought me a cup of warm water to keep my other hand warm. She told us her name but I forgot, she was blonde if that helps. The person who took our order was Kylee U, I wouldn't be surprised if she created the menu herself, for her knowledge and suggestions were so detailed. We apologized for taking so long and asking so many questions but she smiled and said not to worry and answered every question we had. She was lovely. Although we should have listened to Kylee's suggestions , we ended up not being a fan of the Chilaquiles and the manager Sotiri Mantis came over and got us something new and even though he seemed busy he took time to come back over and make sure we liked our new meal. It's not very often that you see a manager so interactive with the customers and walking around helping out the other employees. Throughout our meal 4 different people asked us if we were doing okay, service was super attentive for being set up like a fast food restaurant. Food was fresh and tasty. My sweet ice tea was refilled by a busser without me even having to ask. 11/10 recommend Poached Kitchen of Irvine for even the service alone ! read more

Even though the line was long when we got there, the wait actually wasn't bad at all! The staff has a super-efficient way of handling the crowd, you order and pay first, then get seated once your table is ready. We ended up sitting at the bar, which turned out to be perfect because you can see the kitchen line working non-stop and the servers hustling around getting food out. I ordered the Chilaquiles with a Matcha Latte, and both were really good! My boyfriend went for the Birria Benedict with a Vanilla Latte, and everything came out fresh and flavorful. We also ordered the fresh-squeezed orange juice, and OMG probably the best OJ I've ever had! So bright, sweet, and refreshing. My only minor complaint -- I asked one of the staff behind the bar for a serrano pepper on the side, and she said it would be $4 extra. I've never been charged for a pepper anywhere, so that threw me off a bit. But aside from that, everything else about our experience was positive. Great food, great energy, and an impressively well-run brunch restaurant despite how busy it gets. Would definitely come back again, maybe just skip the extra pepper next time. read more

I always have such an incredible experience at Poached Kitchen! The food was not only fresh and delicious, but it also left me feeling great afterward, which is rare when dining out. You can really tell they prioritize using quality ingredients, and the presentation of each dish was beautiful. On my first visit, I had the breakfast burrito, which is easily one of the best I've ever had in California. This time, I went for the morning scramble, and it was just as amazing--the eggs were cooked to perfection, and the hashbrowns were so tasty. The atmosphere is bright and lively, even when it's busy, and the staff is incredibly attentive, always checking in to make sure everything is perfect. The manager also made sure everything was in order, which shows how much they care about the experience. I I love their concept of catering to both quick bites and leisurely meals. Upon my recent visit to Poached Kitchen, I was thoroughly pleased with the culinary offerings. Their fried chicken sandwich exuded a delightful taste, and the chicken Tinga sope was equally commendable. The ambiance inside the restaurant radiates a modern, chilled vibe, which adds to the overall dining experience. However, a notable area of improvement would be the outside patio seating. The umbrellas collected water on top, and when they were moved, the water unfortunately spilled over our belongings, including cell phones and an air pad. It was also necessary for us to request the staff to clear away the water from the tables and chairs before we could comfortably settle down. While the aforementioned incident did cast a shadow on our visit, the food and interior ambiance have cemented my desire to return. It is my hope that the establishment takes note of these concerns to provide an all-round exemplary experience for its patrons in the future. read more

I recently had the opportunity to dine at your establishment and enjoyed a delicious breakfast burrito. However, while I was eating at the front counter, I couldn't help but overhear a conversation among employees regarding their concerns about the management. Having experienced difficult management myself in the past, I was disturbed by the story being shared by one of your team members. It is disheartening to hear that employees may be facing such challenges, especially when they are clearly working hard to provide excellent service. The servers were kind and attentive, and their positive attitude contributed to a pleasant dining experience. It was unfortunate to overhear the challenges they were facing with management, as it contrasted with the otherwise positive atmosphere created by the staff. While the food and refillable coffee was great, I feel it's important to bring attention to the working conditions that your staff may be enduring. read more

Came in on today with my dad we were soooo hungry wasn't much of a wait we got to the counter and ordered our food and then went to our table inside. Cool walls there's funny stuff on em and feels cozy. Not too long after we were seated the gifts from the kitchen arrived. I got the chicken and waffles and my dad got eggs Benedict. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THIS CHICKEN !!! a crunchy CRUNCH JUICCCYY inside still . The waffle....light....fluffy....crispy....not overly sweet at all which I liked a lot and then to top it off that gravy !!! Get me a bucket of that gravy I'd drink it all!!!!!!! My dad was super pleased with his egg benedict he liked his egg was "poached" perfectly!!!! I tried some of hash browns and the ketchup which they make in house and they were great too! Where do I begin.... Came in Sunday morning with my girlfriend and this place was packed. The host Vinny greeted us with a friendly nice attitude and explained how the whole process works. The line to enter this place reminded me of a line at Disneyland. Do not let that discourage you because the line moves fast. They definitely have a really efficient and smooth system going. Once we entered we walked in to a cute and lively place with beautiful menu boards to order from. Being first timers we looked confused on what to order but the cashier helped us out with some recommendations which were helpful. We ordered the breakfast burrito and Pumpkin waffle and we were glad we did. Food took about 10 minutes to come out which was fast considering how busy they were. Everything was spectacular to food, speed of service, and friendly staff that made our dinning experience great! 10/10 read more
