Never been so excited to write a review, but left me unexcited to write... really wanted to be on the positive approach but I'll never lie!!! Had super HIGH expectations for this spot in Waikiki however left feeling pretty low. Let's start with the initial approach from outside. Looks inviting,clean great location and inviting! However on approach things changed pretty quickly! They had 4 staff members on duty this day. Which one of them (the only male there at the time) was super friendly and inviting. He actually welcomed me and my wife and went to stocking cold drinks. The other 3 ladies seemed extremely indifferent. One was just sitting on a computer guessing she was the manager. One was just there not sure if she was on break or what not. The other one was very standoffish and made me feel hurried when placing my order. Never smiled and was robotic. Thought maybe she was a terminator and this was Judgment lunch pfff. Only time I actually saw her smile was when she was off the service line drinking Starbucks and on her phone. Thanks for a warm aloha welcome. (In my borat voice 'not') onto the actual food to not be too wordy it was bland and forgettable definitely not worth the price of admission. Way too many other Poké restaurants in the area that are much better than to waste any vacay money here!! The spicy poke was mush (if you want spicy poke just go to foodland) the ahi which is also tuna was bland. They actually charge xtra if you choose 2 tuna options. Which is not O'poke. SMH felt like another money grab on tourist rather than focusing on serving a quality product. I could go on about being a local and would def skip this place but I rather keep it quick for all of you because vacations go wayyy too fast! Skip skip skip over to Maguro Bros.. Poke Fix.. or Akai.. in that order. If you're staying in Waikiki. They are all within a couple of Minutes that shouldn't be wasted on Poke bar.... 1 star for the 1 staff member that acknowledged us 1 star for the entry no stars for actual service or taste of food.. oh not to be left out the other female on the service line kept touching her dreads and scratching her head with no gloves then touching food and making bowls without washing hands. read more

The ahi poke is not good at all. Neither are the scallops. There's like 5 pieces of ahi and 2 tablespoons of the shrimp. The customer service was awful, getting annoyed at my mom for taking some time looking at her options. Definitely go to a different poke place. read more

I went to Poke Bar for a light lunch also because I'm in Hawaii YOU HAVE TO HAVE POKE! You walk in and are immediately greeted by nice employees who was ready to answer questions I had. I went with Salmon and Octopus on a bed of greens and sushi rice. I tossed it with Ponzu and got some of the standard toppings. The overall flavor was good just a little in the bland side. The ponzu didn't have a strong flavor profile. The portion size was good though and i was full afterwards. There was seating inside and outside and plenty of space. this was one of the best poke bowls I've ever had. Hawaiian poke just hits so much different because they mix the poke in with the dressing instead of putting it on top. A lot of different fish options to choose from. Ahi tasted so so fresh. The crunchy garlic & onion with sesame seeds is a must. Service was quick & I was in and out in about 5 minutes. I typically choose the miso crab salad for the side. Service is very friendly and efficient, and the store itself is simple and clean. The review that refer to this as the Chipotle of poke is right on - it's the kind of place where you walk down the table and pick out the things you want. That being said, we actually ordered online which was really fast and efficient (though when I went to pick up my order, it was empty so I could have just ordered in the restaurant). One thing I'd note is that the spicy tuna poke is more of a "minced" poke so it doesn't have the big chunks of meat. Had I seen this with my own eyes, I wouldn't have ordered it. I ordered a small which was a pretty good size, but it is on the pricey side. As an example, you can get a really tasty, big poke salad at the Yard House just a few storefronts down for about the same price. read more

In the mood for something light, so I decided to have poke, and Poke Bar was the closest to where we're staycationing on Lewers. Like most build-your-own poke places, the poke bowl was highly customizable. I picked the regular/2-choices of poke: #1) base: mixed greens #2) side: miso crab (other option is seaweed salad; extra side is additional $1.50, I think) #3) spicy ahi (minced) and baby scallops #4) everything in the mix-ins selection (cucumbers, jalapeño, onions, cilantro, corn, edamame, ginger, etc) #5) spicy mayo and house dressing + sesame oil #6) crispy onion and dried seaweed So the difference between Poke Bar and other poke places is the baby scallops were mixed with the mix-ins and dressings to make the second poke choice. Maybe it's for the non-fish options only? Like tofu, tako. I don't know, I didn't get an explanation. The steps on the board were visible but not necessarily clear. Anyway the regular bowl is $13.95 + tax and tip. My first impression was it's pricy for a small bowl. But I suppose that's the price of fresh off the auction fish. At 6pm, it wasn't busy. Service was ok, not terrible, not great, only impersonal, like they can't wait to push my bowl off to the next worker; 4 people handled my bowl before it was finished by the cashier and presumably manager. The bowl was actually a good size. I like the minced spicy ahi, although it was barely spicy. The mixed baby scallops was tasty too, with a mild kick. The miso crab was so-so, however. It was my only favorite Poke spot until today, I used to bring all my visiting friends and family to Poke Bar for years. They broke my heart today. I ordered the usual poke that I have all the time through Doordash and picked it up. I always get 2 salmon and 1 garlic shrimp. I was so hungry and started eating and I noticed that the Garlic shrimp was missing, also I noticed that all the salmon pieces were hard to chew and had grey bottoms. I went back to the store and I thought they would fix it BUT I was speechless because I've never experienced this kind of humiliation at any restaurant or store! One super rude white girl said she was the one who made it and she remembers adding garlic shrimp, so I ate it. SHE SAID I ATE IT!!! SHE SAID: "YOU ARE NOT GETTING FREE STUFF" I'm still speechless. Serving up fresh poke in Waikiki I recommend coming here. For a small bowl I guess it's a bit pricey but I don't know the cost of fish in Hawaii so I don't have anything to compare it to because I'm a tourist. This is great poke! The fish is very fresh and they have great toppings like crab, seaweed salad, and avocado (which costs extra of course). A great place to grab a quick lunch and it's very light yet filling. My only complaint is that it is very pricey for the small portions they give out. read more

its waikiki, so expect everything to be more expensive than elsewhere got the regular sized bowl, which came with 3 options of meat. each choice is 2oz of meat (according to their site), so portions are quite small compared to what locals would be used to for a poke bowl. upside is that there is a pretty good range of choices. different rice options, or field greens, or a mix of both. a lot of toppings and sauces to choose from. and all made relatively quickly. the only real hold up is however long the person in front of you takes to order. they say all their fish is fresh, not frozen. tasted pretty good. fish wasnt very fishy tasting. i had the garlic shrimp, which was not very garlicy. ponzu sauce was good, though because the fish wasnt very fishy it overpowered the salmon and the ahi. read more

This place is the first restaurant that I ate when I got here and it's pretty good. It cost about $15 dollars for 3 scoops of protein, but these scoops are hefty. I enjoy how many options that they had for sauces and toppings. Pretty standard stuff for poki, but I think their fish is excellent here. Compared to california poki, it kicks ass so i'm glad that i came here. Also, there are birds that come in occasionally, so that's kind of cool too. I decided to go with the create your own (regular), which allows you to choose two servings of base (white rice, brown rice, mixed greens, or half and half), three scoops of poke (fresh ahi, salmon, spicy tuna, tako, garlic goma shrimp, tofu, baby scallops), a choice between two sides (miso crab or ocean salad), and two sauces (house dressing, sweet chili, ponzu, wasabi mayo, spicy mayo, shoyu, sesame oil). Additionally, you can choose as many mix-ins as you want (cucumber, onion, corn, kale, etc.) as well as toppings (crispy garlic, crispy onion, nori, etc). You can also add avocado for an additional charge. I decided to go with white rice/mixed greens with fresh ahi, spicy tuna, and baby scallops, miso crab as a side, and the house dressing and wasabi mayo as my sauces. It tasted pretty decent, and the fish was fresh. I especially enjoyed the baby scallops (which I believe are not offered at every location), so I would recommend trying that if you like shellfish. My boyfriend and I were walking the strip and came across this place and decided to give it a try! When we walked in, it was pretty busy! There's indoor seating and even outdoor seating. The workers kept the line moving though. We decided to get the regular bowl ($15.95) and you get three choice of fish--mind you, the menu has easy steps to follow! After choosing your size, you choose your base; We decided to get sushi rice. Next are your toppings, which they have a lot to choose from! Something different I added was the Limu, I believe it was seaweed? So that gave my bowl a good taste! We then chose our sauce, spicy mayo and the worker told us adding the house sauce with spicy mayo is popular so we went ahead and gave it a try--thanks for the recommendation! It was really good! You finally get to top it off with Masago, crispy garlic, crispy onion, and nori. Our bowl was pretty good! I'd hate to pay for something pricey that doesn't even get me satisfied.
