So a few things, walked in and the place did not look very clean. Placed my make your own bowl order and for almost $13 this was the smallest poke bowl I've ever consumed, I mean spring mix and white rice aren't really a budget buster for a shop. Customer service was abrupt, unfriendly and not helpful. Every extra protein is $2, the one protein you get is sparse. I wanted all the crunchy toppings but was just flat out told you get two. We were in the area and decided to get lunch here. The Asian girl (sorry didn't catch her name) who was taking our order was very sweet and accommodating. She was explaining things and very patient. She also was handing everything on her own and I could tell it was hectic but she remained calm and very sweet to the customers. She got our orders right and well proportioned. 4/5 Poke bowls I liked the bowls they had. There could be a bit more proteins added such as spicy tuna or spicy salmon but overall still good. The sauces were pretty standard and could have some unique ones added as well. Overall good but I've been to a lot of poke spots so there's always room for improvement. I however really like the proportions and felt like they didn't skimp out on things. 1/5 Mango Tapioca Tapioca was decent. Had a bite but just plain. The mango tea itself was very weird in flavor. Very good. Poke bowls are my new fav. Interesting toppings, great sauces, PURPLE RICE! It's cold inside, but there's raw fish everywhere so I get it. Attentive workers, clean facilities, PURPLE RICE! I was kinda disappointed sushi rice wasn't an option, but they made up for it with the PURPLE RICE! I'm hoping the Asian market across the street sells it cos it needs to be in my pantry. Saw this while shopping for furniture with the fam. My wife and I visited Kauai, HI but, surprisingly, didn't eat any poke places. This felt like the meal we missed. I hade the King Bowl which had cucumber, corn, I chose a white rice vase but purple rice and fried rice are also available, cilantro, chicken, shrimp zucchini noodles, and pineapple. Update: I was contacted by Poke Aloha in regards to the milk tea expiration date. I was informed that the date on the bottle was the production date and not the expiration date. I have since been able to verify this information. The poke was good, but the protein portion was small for the price. While the classic sauce had good flavor, I found it overpowered everything. What has me very concerned however is that despite just recently opening, they sell drinks that have been expired for a few months. I had purchased a milk tea to go along with my bowl and only noticed when I got it back to my office that it was well past the expiration date. I really love Poke Aloha but they used to really fill the bowls and now I've noticed the last 6 times I've ordered that they are getting smaller. They pile toppings in the middle to make it look fuller but it's often only half full. I order online a lot and last time they left off the avocado that I paid $1.00 for. I really want to keep supporting this place because I like it. But, I am paying the same amount for significantly less. For tonight's order I barely got any toppings this time. I paid $2 extra for fish. There are like 4 pieces of lettuce in my bowl. 5 zucchini noodles, 3 cucumbers and no cilantro. I am extremely disappointed because I paid $14 for mostly rice with a few toppings. I kept trying to love this place because they were so good when they first opened. Cute, quick lunch spot. I came quite hungry and couldn't finish the Seabreeze(?) bowl. I was feeling lazy and a bit in a rush, so I didn't create my own bowl, but it's a nice option to have. The rice wasn't over or undercooked despite the restaurant being at a slow point in the day. Staff was nice and the place itself was clean. My only two complaints are that the seafood and sushi pieces weren't chilled enough and the crab was imitation crab stick. I like my sushi very cold and mine came a little cooler than room temp. It probably has to do with the rice being warm underneath, but that's my preference. They did not skimp on ingredients in the bowl. Solid Poke Bowl place. When you've weary of the carbs, grease and calories of fast food, but don't want the faux healthy option of a salad slathered in Ranch dressing a Poke bowl is the way to go. The Aloha poke is good kind of like Subway or Moe's where you build your own or they 5 preset options. All in all good healthy alternative to a Carbdonalds value meal, but healthy cost a bowl and drink are going to run you around $16, but hey think of the money you save by not having to buy bigger slacks because you ate to many Big Macs. When I found this place, it was because I was looking to try something very...out of the box for myself. I knew of poke bowls, but growing up in a small town, I had never had or even seen one in person. While in Huntsville, I decided I wanted to try it. The first thing that stood out to me was how fresh the ingredients were. Nothing was unappealing at all. The fish was fresh, the vegetables bright and crisp. Very impressed. The set up somewhat reminds me of a subway, in the fact that you make your bowl exactly how you want it. The drink options are slim, but they do have boba teas, if you're into that. The service was quite standard in my opinion. Fast and friendly. Short: it varies. Longer: The poke is good and I enjoy the lazziez-faire approach they have to almost all of the add-ons (i.e. nearly all are free). The food is tasty, the price is right, and service is quick. All good things. A few preferences I have, however. The seaweed salad is very wet and would be nice if it was wrung out before adding to the bowl. Maybe that sounds silly but when adding multiple 'wet' items, and a sauce, it adds up. The protein options are a bit more limited than the other place. Not a big deal, and just personal preference. Some visits have been better than others, food-wise, despite ordering the same things. So I'm new to this state and this area. I've been reviewing on Yelp for a few years. So as I'm exploring my surroundings I'm quick to check out places to eat that get my attention. Poké Aloha did just that in a sea of competing small eateries all in this strip mall setting. My first impression was similar to a Ramen place I visited last week. A rather sterile strip space with a visible sort of foot prep area where your food orders are assembled! The young person taking my order was very friendly and cheerful. I ordered the volcano poké bowl. A refrigerated serving table holds all the ingredients from which your order is made from. This is practical and makes for expediency. After all this IS fast food Poké. Compared to other bowls I've had over the years this comes in at about a 6 out of 10 overall. The flavors were good, especially for the fast food-ness of this place. The portions I found lacking in size. Which is something I've noticed at similar places here. Overall considering everything I have to give Poké Aloha a 4 star rating. Bottom line all these strip mall eateries are based on a specific formula. Clearly it's working. read more

Aloha. This is a nice place to experience some fresh ahi tuna poke bowl. However, I must say the protein portions are very small for the price. Overpriced for sure. Also, the meat to veggies ratio should be 1-1 in my opinion. Although the overall taste once these bowls are all together, is pure joy. The Aloha sauce is a good choice to add some sweetness with its mango-pineapple flavor. As for the new menu item Ramen, the have 3 choices of the base flavor. I chose spicy miso ramen, which I think I may have chose poorly. It could have been better, but it's beginner ramen at best. Needed to add a thicker sesame base and should to remove the ginger, which doesn't belong in ramen. Also, they should have cooked the eggs more and have the option to add those toppings that go with poke, like the green onion, garlic chips, etc. Overall it was a nice place, it just needs a few tweaks and increase portions and make a few ramen adjustments and they'll stick around as a healthier option for the people in the area. read more
