Yeah...sorry yelpers this place is not very good. There must be a lot of reviewers that haven't had much poke or something. We came in here on a Saturday and there was only one person the entire time we ate here...not a good sign. Price for a medium seemed reasonable. Avocado is extra...one of us ordered it and they give you about 1/6 of an avocado it feels like...it was a sad sliver. Fish quality seemed fine (hopefully)..octopus was on the chewy side though. Sauces were ok...nothing special and nothing I would come back for. The rice though was undercooked and borderline inedible....was hard to tell whether it was fresh rice too or had been cooked on a previous day. It also clumped together which was weird. Everything tasted fresh and wonderful!. Portions are always plentiful and quality was great! The staff is very friendly and pretty quick. Today was a bit busier than all the previous times I've been but I was still able to make a to-go order and be out of there rather quickly. I had some issues with silverskin on some of the tuna on my last visit and it made me hesitant to go back. Patrick insured me that it was a fluke and that they have rectified the cause and to try them out again. GLAD I did! Will definitely continue being my regular friday lunch spot again! read more

So I've jumped on the Poke bandwagon and have tried a few Poke places out recently. I found Poke Ave on Yelp and it's right down the street from my work, so I stopped in to check it out. The place is small but looked really clean. They had a good number of options to add to your bowl, not as many options as some other Poke places, but not a bad selection at all and price was decent. I got a regular bowl (includes 3 scoops) and it was $8.99 plus tax. The food tasted fresh and the customer service was good. Overall a decent place to go! read more

I love the variety of seafood they have compared to the other Poke joints...you can chose from the regular or large bowls or a burrito (which is made with rice paper). I was shocked to see spicy salmon on the menu, and I immediately gravitated to it, but everything was delicious. The service was friendly and helpful. They even brought out complimentary green tea ice cream once we finished our meal, which I thought was a sweet surprise. Overall I would recommend this place. read more

Very sub par offering for a poke spot. Anything that you want that is "extra" is charged .75 per. If you weren't giving me skimpy ass portions I wouldn't need anything "extra". Their tuna looks old.. if I get diarrhea I'll update this to a 1 star. Poor service? Why? I'd happily spend my lunch money elsewhere. The best Poke I have ever had. The food is fresh and you really feel that the staff cares about your experience. I have Poke at least 3 times a week as it's on my diet plan, so I have experienced quite a few places. I live in Sunset Beach, so it's a bit of a hike, but well worth it. Wow. This place used to be amazing. Fantastic customer service. Then tonight, out with my daughter for her birthday per her request my youngest five year old son needed to use the bathroom urgently. Went into get some Poke because I love Eel sauce in my bowls and so far this has been the only spot close enough to have it. Entered the building to see that the room was very clean and organized. Customer service was nice and friendly. They had a ton of options to choose from with many different combinations and for $9 the amount they give you is enough to get full off of ( I almost didn't finish the bowl!) I give this place 3 stars though because I felt like the ingredients could have been fresher. The salmon was a little fishy and a little too soft kind of making me a little weary about eating it. I wanted to wait a day to see if I'd get sick and I seem to be okay. I'm not sure if I'd go back any time soon, but for the price you get a decent amount. read more

Poke Ave has delicious, good quality fish. The service is usually friendly and helpful. Place is clean, and there's usually plenty of parking. Nice thing too is that you can get a free drink with check-in. I wish that their spicy mayo had a little more kick, but you can supplement by putting in more sriracha on your own. Except when they are entertaining a patron that has made the obnoxious decision to be an over-achiever, and offered to take everyone in their office's lunch order, and stands in front of you clutching a post-it riddled with special orders, no sauce, extra avocado, half tuna-half salmon bullshit. There is a special place in hell for this person. If you decide to dine in, nine times out of ten one of the poke peeps (the equivalent of a 'yogurt chef' at Golden Spoon) will come around and pass out free green tea ice cream. I'm not sure how your parents raised you, but green tea ice cream only blissfully entered my life a few years ago. Growing up on a fairly strict Neapolitan ice cream regimen, I had no idea this green treat fantasy existed. It's the cherry on top of a magical poke experience. Pretty good quality poke. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because the rice was very dry. My friend who went with me said the rice usually isn't dry and we did come at an off hour. I got a bowl with white rice, 2 scoops of salmon, and 1 scoop of tuna. For my toppings I got edamame, seaweed salad, green onions, white onions. My sauce is a mixture of ponzu, sesame oil, and spicy mayo. Was absolutely great quality except for the very dry rice. I'm sure I'll come back and see if they can redeem themselves. read more

From their variety of dishes to top notch service, what's not to love about this place? I am a huge poke fan and have my fair share of good and not so good poke joints I have tried. This is one of the better ones. I love the fact that they don't only serve poke bowls but also sushi burritos! Sometimes I'm not in the mood for a traditional bowl so I love the option of switching it up a bit. The fish quality is good, the prices are very reasonable, and they have so many different sauce options I never know what to choose. Aside from their food, their service is great as well! If you haven't tried Poke, you do not know what you're missing! This spot is in a little shopping center but very easy to see from the street. Store is super clean and ordering is very easy. I always get the spicy tuna and spicy salmon. All the ingredients are fresh and super delicious. The poke burrito is pretty good if you're not too hungry. If you have a bit more of an appetite, I'd say go with the bowl. I recommend the spicy mayo and loca sauces. Not super hot but it gives it a little kick. They have punch cards so after 10 you get one free. An added bonus is if you work in the area you can get 10% off during lunch time. Just bring your ID or business card. Staff is super cool. My husband and I came at this poke place on Saturday (2/4/17) at around 3:30 for a late lunch and we absolutely loved it! Our friends in the Brea area recommended Poke Ave to us a while ago, but never got around to it till now and i am telling you, it was definitely worth the drive from Anaheim. FISH: 4.5/5 the fish, especially the tuna and albacore, was very fresh. I chose the tuna, house tuna, and shrimp and they were all cut well and the house tuna had good seasoning. my only slight complaint was that the fish could have been in smaller cubes, but definitely a very small issue and mainly preference. the entire restaurant did not have that "fishy" smell some poke places have. SAUCES: 5/5 unlike other poke places that only let you choose the level of spice, this place has sauces ranging from teriyaki (eel) sauce to wasabi mayo. overall, very good choices SERVICE: 4.8/5 the ambiance and the servers were incredibly pleasant. very helpful young people that knew what they were talking about. i asked what albacore was (because it looked a lot like yellowtail) and they told me it was a kind of tuna! well you learn new things ! it was only a bit hard to hear because the speaker was behind me, but no big issue. overall, friendly employees and pleasant environment EXPERIENCE: 5/5 my husband and i were there for a good 45 minutes, and could see nothing out of the blue. the poki itself was good, good variety, etc. Will definitely be coming back. read more

I've been to almost all the poke places within a 6 mile radius of me and this place is my favorite. The fish is fresh, they don't skimp on the scoops and if you eat at their establishment then you get a small complimentary taste of green tea ice cream. The employees are friendly, there's not usually a ton of people so you can get in and out of there, and the place is pretty new so it's clean. Not sure about the restroom. I know they have one that is in the back through their kitchen but not visible to the service area. The place itself is not huge but there is some seating outside that accommodates some people. Also the parking lot is decent for the shopping center so that's not usually a problem. I recommend this place for poke for sure. They have a stamp program and after every 10 stamps on your rewards card you earn the 11th free (regular size only). read more

Brea has a lot of Poke places! This place is hidden in the Arrowvista Plaza, (hope the land lord gets them a roadside sign soon!) Tiny little place, but just enough room room to seat a lunch rush. In terms of Poke, pretty standard, but they have a couple extras unique to them. Poke Burritos and hand rolls! However I didn't come here to try these. The good: well rounded selection of fish. I might come back to try the shoyu tuna, since I haven't seen that one before. They have a spicy crab along with the regular crab. The not so good: avocado is .50¢ extra (better than Poki Monster's $1.50) rice was on the cold side, eco friendly bowls cling to the rice base at the end. Wow! This place was amazing. I'm always skeptical about poki places because you never know how fresh the fish is but this was amazing. I had a regular bowl with salmon, ahi and brown rice. My toppings were pineapple, crab, seaweed and cucumber. My salon and ahi were marinated with ponzu and sea same oil and then I got eel sauce and lemon creamy on top! Absolutely delicious! Well I live near downtown Fullerton, so I don't go to downtown Brea area too often, but I ended up going a few days ago. And my friend and I decided to try a restaurant we hadn't been to yet, so we went to Poke Ave. And Poke Ave was actually a very cute place to go with a friend because of the huge proportion sizes and delicious ingredients. The music was also quite fitting for the food sold there because of it's peppy-ness and because it motivates you to finish the whole meal (but still had a little to take home after). Food was amazing though and tbh probably the best poke place I've been to. The girl who helped us was extremely nice and even tried to make our bowl look aesthetically pleasing (which was hard with all the diff items we got LOOL). I usually don't get yellowtail at poke places because it tastes unfresh with that fishy metallic aftertaste, but it's good here!
