What a find! Great food at a great price and friendly service! Freshest fish in town!

I love Poke Ave! My mom and I went there after we bought 2 fish, and when I first bit my rice, the flavor exploded in my mouth. I had this delectable thing, I had that pink and white streamer-looking stuff, white rice, seaweed, avocado and Hawaiian Sun to top it off and I was amazed! My whole office went here for lunch today and they did not disappoint! I had the poki burrito and my coworkers had poki bowls. You get to pick your toppings at no extra charge. Toppings include avocado, crab meat and all the trimmings. When we were done they brought us green tea ice cream free of charge. The place is very clean and the employees and super nice and friendly. We are definitely going back for lunch. read more

Now that this society is booming with poke restaurants, I couldn't resist but try this place out as I was driving by. It may be because I was almost dying of hunger but I can confidently state that this was one of the best ones I've ever had. I could tell that every ingredient they had on my bowl was fresh and kept cool. The servers were also very kind enough to walk me through the menu and the ordering process. Wow! I just can't believe this place. As you can see, I usually only write positive reviews, but this place doesn't even deserve the single star that Yelp makes me give. The sanitary practices of this poke place are horrid. I've never had such a bad case of food poisoning from any restaurant I've ever been to. NEVER!!! And I go to a lot of restaurants and I'm only a little ashamed to say that some of the dives I've gone to are a little questionable. Granted, I should have known better. When you walk in there, it smells like fish. Not that nice 'beachy' fish smell, but the old fish 'fishy' smell. Yes, it's a Poke restaurant (raw fish), but when they say fresh fish shouldn't smell 'fishy', they are sooooooo right. Being able to "taste" my poke bowl hours after I ate it was my first clue that something wasn't right. I've been to pretty much all the local poke restaurants and have my favorites, so I tried my closest local Poke place out. Big mistake. I paid dearly for it over a toilet bowl for a whole lot of hours. The worst part is that it wasn't even good compared to so many of the other Poke spots. The worst worst thing is that they were totally rude there. The owner is outside smoking and the workers are smoking in the back when I drove home. Come to think of it, the guy who made my bowl came from the back of the restaurant (probably from outside) and I didn't see him wash his hands. I'm a little grossed out thinking about it as I write this. I seriously think these 4 & 5 star reviews are friends of the owner or bought and paid for. I can't believe any real diners would give it that many stars just on taste alone. Even if somehow they had the pleasure of not getting sick after eating there, their bowls are Mediocre at best. read more

GO TO POKE MONSTER!! When this place first opened they were GREAT! Generous portions, no up-charges for toppings (i.e. avocado, both crab meats) and I really loved their loyalty program. Now... portions are smaller, avocado is extra, getting both crab meats is extra... you can actually see them taking the time to make sure you get as little as possible AND they seem annoyed when you present a 10 stamp card for a free bowl; keeping in mind my husband & I always get 2 large bowls w/ avocado & both crab meats every time we go in which means we are spending upwards of $26 every visit! Last time we redeemed our stamps for a free bowl, we still paid for a large bowl but the 2nd bowl wasn't completely free because it was large as well... in fact, we were charged $3 because apparently you only get a free regular bowl... that policy isn't stated anywhere and I could understand if we were buying a regular bowl and then we were wanting the large bowl free but this was not the case... since opening they've just gotten more expensive for less food. POKE MONSTER is much better, more generous portions, fish is much fresher and no loyalty program so it feels like less of a scam... what you see is what you get! No nickel and diming. read more

I've tried several others, but this is my favorite poki place. The poki bowls are excellent and the portions are bigger than all the other poki restaurants. You get a a side of miso soup included with every order, which is really very good if you like miso. I typically order a bowl with spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and regular tuna. I ask them to mix the spicy tuna with the spicy mayo, but you can order it to your liking. Overall this is a great place to eat and the the servers are great. I travel a few cities down on the weekends to get bowls for the family because we really enjoy them. read more

Decided to give this a try and as I walked through the doors I'm overwhelmed by the smell of bleach. Normally this is a good sign of cleanliness but next time a go a little easier on the clorox. Go to order and I'm approached by friendly faces who help and answer questions, suddenly an older lady comes from the back and seems like she's in a rush and starts barking orders to employees and is SHOUTING at me as to hurry me. In that moment is where this experience went bad! She was very rude and unprofessional the posted hours say 11am - 8:30pm i arrived roughly around 7:20ish, if she was in such a rush maybe she should consider changing her operation hours. As for the Poke it was just ok but be aware for rude owner. read more

I've been here a few times. The fish is fresh (I get the unseasoned salmon and tuna). Staff has always been nice. But every time I've come lately they have increased the price of the first scoop of avocado from nothing to $0.50 to $0.75. I'm going to look into other poke places (there are plenty around). read more

Rarely in this area, but had to meet a co-worker. This place is really great. I eat Poke pretty often, this place is up there. Fish quality is excellent. Good fresh fish for a great price! This is the genuine poke place that started it all, and in my opinion one of the best. All the employees were very kind with nice smile that makes this place even better. So I heard that there was a new poke restaurant in town so I felt that I had to try it out. Me personally I love sea food especially raw fish and the place had a pretty high rating so I had my expectations high. First of all, I loved the customer service. Right when I entered the store they gave me a warm welcome and the staffs at the counter was really friendly and really put me in a happy mood. When I got my food they asked me if everything was alright and if I needed anything and this kinda surprised me because in a fast food restaurant I'd never had a staff asked me if everything was alright or if I needed anything so I'd give a "A+" for customer service. Now the food. I ordered the sushi burrito because a lot of my friends told me that it was really good and they weren't lying. For the sushi burrito they ask you what kind of toppings you want just like they do in Chipotle and you could choose two scoops of any fish (spicy salmon, spicy tuna, salmon, tuna, albacore, yellowtail, octopus, and shrimp) you want in your sushi burrito. There's also many different sauce to choose from and the final toppings (masago, wasabi, and sea weed) to top it all off. The size was perfect and didn't make me feel heavy and fat after finish eating it. The restaurant was really peaceful with a nice atmosphere and had couple of my favorite music playing so everything was great. I'm pretty impressed to have poke store this good near where I live so I am definitely going to be back for sure. read more

The restaurant itself is in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The portion sizes are pretty good compared to other poke places. They should not call themselves a hawaiian, japanese restraunt because they are not. The only thing they are is a sushi deconstruction shop set up like subway with the same quality. Poke Ave is my go-to poke spot in the Greater Orange County area. They always have the freshest fish, nicest employees, best customer service, and even the dopest Hawaiian drinks!? Parking is for a small strip mall so there's always ample spaces. They also have a great selection of fish! There's marinated tuna which I've never seen in the other poki spots around here. 10/10 must recommend! Shoutout to the one employee, i think her name was Sylvia? So, so good! I drive out of my way to get this, versus the one close to my house. Very fresh fish and toppings.

I've been here a few times and I like it. I haven't had any weird fish and the price is fair for the amount you get. I rarely eat more than one big meal a day and the bowls here keep me very satisfied throughout the day. They have a decent amount of toppings, but I'm a little sad there are not than many fish choices. There isn't much seating, but it's clean and well taken care of whenever I go in. I've not had a problem with parking yet and I've never had to wait long for my food, which is something I look for. But why must it be closed on Sunday??? All the good poke places close Sunday... is there really not much business on Sunday here? read more

i'm an avid pokegoer, and this is a place i love. atmosphere is alright. service is kinda friendly so that's good. i love the variety of fish they got goin on, and for those that are new to poke, the menu is pretty straight forward and simple. the avocado is 75 cents extra, which is good considering other places charge 1.00 sometimes. i love the spicy mayo and the wasabi sauce they have too. the wasabi sauce is so bomb, and i love when places have it since i don't see it a lot. the reason why this ain't a 5 star is simply because of the crabmeat. y'all giving some tiny ass scoops of crab. i asked for an extra scoop of crab and it was 75 cents. last time i went there, it wasn't extra so idk wassup with the switch up. other places charge 50 cents for an extra scoop of crab but this was just ridiculously tiny. that's one thing i feel like y'all shouldn't be skimpin on. all in all the food is good here, so id say to come thru. just expect to pay more than you think for the tiny crab scoops lol. read more

I've been here multiple times now. Sometimes couple times a week. I like coming here because it's close to my work, and to me, it's fairly clean eating. It's around 8 something and you can get 3 scoops of fish for regular bowl and 5 for large I think (not sure about large because I never get large, i get full from their regular). You can get crab meat (regular or spicy)- free if you have one or the other but if you want both, there's an extra fee. There's also an extra fee for the avocados but that's pretty standard at poke places since avocados are expensive rn. Their cucumbers are pickled so that's tasty and they have green beans, cilantro, ginger, pineapples etc... moving on to the fish, I usually get the house fish and the other already pre-mixed one (is it called shoyu ? LOL) I love tuna so I get the tuna and the shrimp. They have salmon and all the other varieties that other poke places have. Their house sauce is pretty good. Did I mention that you can get a salad bowl or rice bowl? I usually get the salad bowl (hence the clean eating ) All that for 8 something... I mean it is a good deal and they have a "check in and get a free drink or. Totaled water" which is awesome.. the staff are friendly, and they know what's popular so if you have no idea, just ask. I've tried many other places and this place is better than north shore in Cerritos (kind of fishy there), poke monster (their tuna was fishy too) and oke poke (they give you so little compared to poke ave for similar price) just to name a few. read more
