Poke bowl with weird tuna, suspicious salmon, and a tablespoon of dried out crab...
    Shannon O.

Last year I used to eat here at least 1x/week bc it's so close to my house and I was in a heavy poke phase. Wasn't mind blowing, but the portions were huge, I loved their imitation crab scoop which was massive, and it was super easy parking. Only stopped bc I was out of my poke phase, but I'd give it 3-4 stars at the time. Cut to today, not only are the portions tiny but the proteins look - weird. I got 3 scoops: really weird semi-cooked? tuna that's already in some sort of strange sauce (not the sauce I ordered...), salmon looks VERY sus, and some really dried out imitation crab they gave me maybe 2 tablespoons of. I can't even tell if my 3 sauces were included. They don't offer masago, oshinko, or sesame anymore. Rice is not great, tastes like they made it in the rice cooker last night or something. What happened?! Guy working there was super nice, but c'mon. Bring the old way back!! This pic is what you get for $20...

I was craving a refreshing meal and ended up finding this place. My friend and I went here on a Saturday around 2:40pm for lunch and there was no wait! We got the Medium and also the Large sized build-your-own poke bowls. The Medium bowl allows for 3 scoops of fish while the Large bowl allows 4 scoops. They give large scoops if you choose the BYO option and the overall portion size was big too. I noticed for certain sections, you can add as much as you want with no extra cost! All the food tasted and looked fresh too. I'd recommend this place! This might be my new favorite place to get poke. Their portion size is larger than other poke places I've been to, food was good, they have lots of tables to sit at inside, and I love how much variety they have here.

Picked up a bowl on a Friday afternoon just after lunch. I didn't have to wait long even though there was only one worker. You fill out your order on the piece of paper to the right of the poke bar and hand it to the worker when you're ready. I see the bad reviews mentioning portions are bad and the massive amount of flies in the restaurant, but i didn't experience either. I didn't see any flies and i was happy with the portion i received, a matter of opinion though. Oh but if I saw all the flies myself, i would probably have given less stars too.

Solid poke spot! You order with a paper and build your own poke bowl. They give very generous portions and don't skimp on toppings. I like how you can get lots of types of toppings added on for free including seaweed salad which is usually extra at other poke shops. It's fairly priced for the amount they give you. A large was enough for two meals for me. Overall I'd definitely come back to get poke and next time I'll try other types of fish/toppings!

I ordered a large poke bowl, and while I appreciated the generous portion of sides, I felt the overall flavor and freshness could have been better. The ingredients were decent, but I was expecting a bit more vibrancy in taste. Not a bad experience, but there's room for improvement. The service was decent nothing to complain about and there was plenty of seating.

Their Ocean location is still takeout-only, closing off all the indoor seating options. You order via paper and pencil, marking off boxes of options for fish/toppings, and had to to the employee to prepare. I ordered a medium bowl, which comes with three* scoops of fish. The portion size is decent, but the toppings weren't fresh. The carrots were all dried out, and the tuna looked like cat food. The rice was overly chewy, probably had too much water and left in the rice cooker a long time. They probably thrive on being the only poke place in the neighborhood and can satisfy the craving if you're not willing to go far.

    My order by myself

My friend wanted poke but Burlingame was too far for him to drive. So I gave him a few options and he choose this location as it's close by both our houses, easy parking (street meter & residential) and have sitting so we can eat and chat. I haven't been back since the pandemic (see previous review) This time, our orders was full to the fullest. It was stacked with goodies of our choice. I was impressed by the quality AND quantity they scooped. They definitely did not skimped on us. I even came back for a second time after a week by myself. And again they did not disappoint. Another plus, their prices are not as expensive as other places. I'm glad they didn't raise it so much it would break your pocket. But it does make a HUGE DIFFERENCE from ordering online and in person ordering.

Salad bowl with regular tuna, salmon, and "crab", with spicy mayo, mild poke sauce, and avocado. Good dependable meal.

I'm really surprised by all the negative reviews. This place is the fastest thing I can get delivered to my house so I order it frequently. Rarely, they will make a mistake, and I will get a credit for it. But it's generally a reliable source of a good normal meal. Not fancy. Not exceptional. But dependably very good. Maybe the service is terrible or unfriendly when you go there in person. I empathize. So just get it delivered, like I do. Then you won't have to worry about communication issues or weird conversations. They'll have what you want "in writing" so they'll clearly know what to make. I usually get a salad with regular tuna, salmon, and "crab", with spicy mayo and mild poke sauce. Usually with some avocado. It's a nice lunch or dinner when I don't feel like cooking.

Food is ok but the portion is not consistent. I came a few times at 9:10-9:15pm to get my late dinner bc my daughter gets off from gymnastics practice at 9pm. The first few time when I came, the lady staffs let me place my order and told me that they closed at 9:30pm. Tonight I came around the same time, it's this new guy I've never seen. He refused to take the order and said they've closed. It's not even closing time yet. If it was a sit-down diner, I'd respect the closing time and wouldn't go in if it's less than 45 min from the closing time so that I know I won't make the staffs get off late. But this is a poke bowl place. It literally only takes a couple of min to put ingredients together for a bowl! Btw, I saw a big fly flying around the foods.

A pretty typical poke bowl joint where you pick your base, proteins, veggies, sauces and toppings. At least typical nowadays; we should be thankful poke is so prevalent compared to when it was relatively obscure on the mainland. They have some nice little touches like offering kimchi, which turns out goes great in a poke bowl. Poke Bowl w/ Tuna, Salmon, Octopus, Shrimp: The tuna and salmon were raw while the shrimp and octopus were cooked. Seemed fresh enough. There was a tiny bone in one salmon cube and a shell on one shrimp, so that felt pretty sloppy. But no harm, since I caught it before eating. The veggies too seemed fresh. I got the spicy poke sauce, which had a little kick, but wasn't all that spicy. I really like how they offered kimchi and pickled radish for toppings, which tasted great against the poke bowl. Unfortunately, they were kinda stingy on the fried garlic though, despite me asking for a lot. I'm a big fan of crunchy toppings, but that texture option was very lacking here.

My poké bowl more on a veggie side.

Gotta catch'em all! Nah, some! In a Poké Bowl! Reminds me of a pokémon game that's similar to the title of an eatery. Been checking this place out many times and thought I would give an eatery a try. A couple of female Asian staff members did a pleasant job taking care of any of us in just a few minutes. Of course, all I need is to put a check on what I like to order on the order form. If you're like me, choose a salad bowl and select more veggie options. Greens are healthier than the tastier raw seafood and meat options. Then, choose different ingredients to show you're more adventurous. Though I included wasabi to cleanse the palate, the light green painful stuff was still worth it. No time and money for appetizers and desserts. Just gotta love to customize my poké container. Oh, and glad they accept cash.

Here's what I stand by: any poke restaurant owner can reach out to a reputable seafood vendor to request for high quality cuts of seafood- prep em up and it'd be fire.. so I never base my opinion on just the quality of the fish. It's really the rice that plays the x-factor in a poke bowl. If I see sushi rice subbed for the plain white rice option, I'd give this place a second try! I wanna taste the love from the sushi rice prepping, I can eat Zojirushi rice at home any day! Wife and I got large poke bowls off DoorDash so this review is based solely on the food rather than the physical establishment. *One weird note is we ordered around 6:45PM Sun 4/2/23 but Yelp was showing this place was closed. Their current hours show Mon-Sat 10:30AM-11:00AM? Owner of the business might want to edit their Yelp page! Mine: white rice // sweet corn, cucumber // salmon, spicy tuna, scallop, spicy crab // spicy poke and spicy mayo sauce // wakame, oshinko, green onions, massago, furikake, garlic chips, sesame seeds (hers was similar: salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, and spicy crab with spicy mayo and ponzu) Pros- really filling and affordable, bowls are packed to the rim, and they're on UberEats/DoorDash for convenience Cons- lack of flavor (the rice and the sauces), quality of the fish is mediocre, carbs to fish/toppings ratio was pretty carb heavy, nothing really stood out from the bowl

Lg Poke Bowl, Salmon, Spicy Tuna, extra scoop, Spicy Original Poke Sauce $16.85, 2.5 stars. Decent fish, good toppings, STALE rice. 6/11/21
