Choose the vegetables that you know personally refreshes your palette. When you select your protein, you can either go marinated or raw. I recommend going raw because later you can choose your sauce. Then there's the crunch. Select that! Have fun with creating your own. It isn't overwhelming and the staff is friendly. A note on the rice: though brown rice is "healthier" than white, when you eat it as a burrito it'll be drier! Avoid dry mouth. read more

Love love love Poke Burrito! We order at least 2-3X per month for the family. I always make my own bowl and it tastes so yummy. Hubby loves their salmon obsession bowl. My sister enjoys making her own bowl as well. The awesome thing is if you order on their website and have an account, you get $5 off after certain amount of purchases. Pickup is safe and easy. My bowl was missing avocados. I get they were busy but it was one of the main ingredients. The sizes were way too small to be $13 each. I had to go get a sandwich from Potbelly afterwards. The location is good and there aren't other poke/sushi burrito options in Oak Park but it's more worth it to drive farther and go somewhere with better taste and price. Not impressed. I had a great drop by experience here. I saw a sign for grand opening and thai rolled ice cream earlier in the week, and I was just pumped to stop by for some ice cream. I ended up getting a small veggie poke bowl as well. It was plenty for me! It looks small, but I want starving. I feel like I couldn't ever eat a large size bowl. So, I was never a big fan of POKE, mostly because I'm one of those people who likes to put their own combos together and hates green onion, etc. After the whole Takeout25 started, I was seeing so many amazing photos from this place and the manager commenting and supporting other businesses, that I figured I should give it a try. I went online to pre-order a lunch burrito (crab salad) and a maki roll for their earliest delivery of 12:00. What confused me was getting a "how was your experience" email at 12 when the food was not yet here. I figured it had to be a system thing where they just send them automatically at the delivery time and waited. By 12:15 I was worried my deliciousness had been given to a neighbor. So I called, and was even more confused because the woman answering the phone seemed to be as confused as I was, leaving it with "I think it is coming - we are busy." It came around 12:35, and was amazing, so I let it all go. I just wish more places had tracking like the third party services do. Now just to get the husband over his aversion to sushi! read more

My wife and I had great Poke last week in Milwaukee at a place called FreshFin Poke. Look at that review. This is closer in distance but not not even close on quality and operation. If you're very picky about ingredients this place may work out better for you since you pick every single ingredient. It's just a hassle for those of us that want a chef to match flavors and textures and then offer it as a menu item. The ingredients were cut too large and the tuna was very skimpy. Other aggravating things: Parking is non existent here. The place is tiny and the awkward ordering process has people congregating by the door. First time customer and I build my own burrito which was great because I added what I really enjoy in a sushi roll, when we ordered we also tip during the purchase transaction, and we tipped 30%. During the order we told them that it was to dine in. Once I got my food it was all bagged up to go. I didn't say anything considering it was busy at the moment, the one thing tho they forgot my drink order with my meal so I had to wait a few more mins to get it. The Poke Burrito and Poke James Creation Bowl we ordered were so tasty and delicious I can't wait to order again. I had never tried this place before but I am glad we did. The ingredients were super fresh the tuna and salmon were fresh and the cucumbers super crispy. The dressing was light and had the perfect spice. Both items were delicious and extremely palatable. Delicious and the portions are excellent. We ordered bowls - $28 for both, no drinks just waters. For what you get, the prices is excellent and extremely tasty. Tuna and salmon chuck were big and fresh, all the ingredients were fresh and crispy. We went around 1 pm and it was empty, took about 7/10 min for the bowls to be ready, presentation was lovely, almost too pretty to eat. We will be going there again. Be prepared to just get a bowl full of onions, lettuce and whatever sides you ordered. Ordered a large and was barely given any salmon- 12 pieces (yes. I counted.) they don't make the bowls in front of you like other poke places. The fish is cut inconsistently and I had tiny triangular shaped pieces and slivers-- not the regular square thick pieces at other poke shops that really showcase the quality of their fish. Their fish was warm and tasteless. This place is a waste of money. $15 dollars for not a poke bowl, but a veggie bowl w a side of salmon. Received more salmon at a hotel cafe that didn't even specialize in poke than here. Very disappointed. Find another place. Also it's hot in here. I think this is a little expensive, but overall i love getting take out from here. I have had the vegetarian bowls and it is a great, higher protein, fresh option for take out food. My friend and I ordered food here today and as I was eating my ramen I found a hair in the soup. I'm normally not one to complain but a hair in the soup was extremely gross. So I decided to take it back and show them so I could get a refund. When I got there I told the lady with short hair and glasses and she took the soup from me and examined it for 5 minutes even though I showed her a picture and she didn't believe me. She then found the hair and examined the hair and said "this isn't any of our hair because we all have long hair". I told her it wasn't mine because I had long hair. She then said "I don't understand." I asked her for a FULL REFUND for just the soup and she proceeded to say "I can't give you a full refund because you didn't have all the ingredients in the soup so I could only have half the refund."
