    poke Regular Bowl
    Jason N.

The staff here are super friendly, and the portions are massive. I got a regular poke bowl and was honestly surprised by how much food they give you. They include free avocado and a generous amount of imitation crab, which is always a plus. A large bowl could easily last two meals, so I was really happy with both the portion size and the food quality for the price. Bowls are around $16-$21, which is actually a great deal considering how much food you get. My go to combo is spicy mayo and ponzu sauce, which adds the perfect balance of flavor. The location is also very convenient with lots of things to do around the area. Overall, I had a great experience and would 100% come back again.

Enjoyed a visit at Poke Dot down in the Claremont village today, not your typical seafood expert but I will say me and my friend Landon enjoyed our meals throughly. If you are willing to spend some dough you can grab yourself a pretty quick and yummy meal I came in today around noon and the customer service was great the dude at the front cashier was chill. One thing to note was the fountain machine is out of order. Other than that would highly recommend.

It was so good that I forgot to take a picture and they gave me such a big serving! It was awesome. They were so nice and the service was so fast. Thank you Poki dot and everybody there. I hope you get more customers because you are so great. Everybody should go to poki dot. My mom loved it too!

    That was the bug found

While eating my food I found a piece of plastic in my food, which is already unacceptable and concerning from a safety standpoint To make matters worse, my coworker also discovered a bug in her bowl. This raises serious concerns about cleanliness, food preparation standards, and overall quality control. Finding foreign objects-especially both plastic and a bug in one visit is not something that should ever happen. When I called to report the issue, all I received was a quick "I'm so sorry, it won't happen again and I have to go we have customers waiting." There was no real effort to address the situation-no offer to refund our meals, even though we had to throw everything away after two bites. I hope management takes this seriously and thoroughly reviews their food safety and sanitation practice. Based on this experience I definitely won't be returning and I will be letting others know.

If I could give this place a million stars I would. I've always lived a bit of a distance but this has been one of my favorite spots since i found out about it over 8 years ago. I rave about it and bring so many friends and family. This poke spot is my favorite forever the portions are always so good the bowls are delicious, the workers are always so nice and amazing and it's always so chill in there. I don't think I'll ever stop coming back here keep up the amazing work!

Solid poke spot in Claremont! Interior is nice and clean. I got salmon and octopus, and the small bowl was more than enough to fill me up. Portions are generous, and all toppings are free, which is a huge plus. Not the freshest I've had, but definitely a reliable and satisfying option in the area. Will be back!

Poke Dot is always delicious. The staff greets you the second you're in the door and they are super quick throwing your order together. The restaurant isn't the biggest but it's always clean and tidy. I usually enjoy sitting along the window facing Indian Hill Blvd.

I was visiting Botanic Garden in Claremont this past weekend. Afterwards, I shopped at Trader Joe's (TJ) and picked up some chicken kabobs from Boca Burger. I promised my eldest daughter that I would buy a poke bowl for her. At first, I thought of Oh Poke which would have been closer since it was in the same center as where TJ was located. But I've already tried it a long time ago. I looked on Yelp to see where else has poke bowls. Poke Dot came up and it was less than or about a mile away so that was my next stop. Thank you Yelp!!! Poke Dot is within the Claremont Village. It's actually on Indian Hill Blvd. There are small parking lots and street parking available. This poke joint has a bright and inviting ambiance. No one was in here when I arrived which was great for me so I can take lots of photos. Staff was super friendly and nice. I needed a minute to check out their fishes and toppings. Everything was very fresh. I couldn't help myself and got two large poke bowls. Each bowl comes with 5 scoops. Price was on the higher end of $19.95 per large bowl compared to other poke places that I've been to. But that didn't stop me from getting them LOL. I asked to try the brown rice and the gentleman was nice to give me a small sample cup of it. It was piping hot right out of the rice cooker. It was soft and fluffy. I was SOLD! Both poke bowls pretty much had the same ingredients except for the base where mine had half brown rice and half salad. My daughter got all white rice. As for the fishes, I went with 3 scoops of salmon and 2 scoops of tuna. They also had albacore, shrimp, scallop, octopus, spicy tuna, and tofu. As for toppings, I got everything that was there... cucumbers, onions, cilantro, jalapeños, original and spicy crab meat, and avocados. As for crunches, I got everything, too... tempura, hot cheetos, fried onions, masago, seaweed seeds, and furikake. Lastly, topped with seaweed salad, edamame beans, ginger, and wasabi. As for sauces, I got them on the side... spicy mayo, medium spice house sauce, and cilantro twist. That was a whole lot of goodness. The lady had a hard time sealing the bowls... they were that full. I love the over the top poke bowl. Hey, there's a new label for it. My poke bowl was so full that I had to pick at each corner slowly. It was so fresh and delicious! The only gripe is that a few of the salmon chunks had muscle tissue attached. No big deal. I would definitely be back here for more tasty poke bowls. But next time, I may just have the whole bowl mixed in with the sauces. Highly recommend this Poke Dot!!!

I was very satisfied with my poke bowl! They did good size scoops for my salmon, tuna and avocado! I was also happy to see they had hot Cheetos as a topping! Gotta love having a little spicy crunch to your poke! Workers were nice and patient though they had a non stop line while I was there. There's a good amount of seating inside. I'm coming back for sure!

First time trying this spot while looking for something fresh and easy to eat on a hot day. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I like really their cilantro sauce. Will return!

Spicy tuna, tuna, and salmon bowl -- fish was good. Just the bowl was undersauced.

Does anything on the menu have peanuts, and can severe nut allergies be accommodated?

    No and yes

Does anyone know how much rice goes into the bowls per size? Is it 1/2 cup, 1 cup, or 2?

Typically you can rough eyeing it. Most places have 1 scoop = 1-1 1/2 cups so if you see them put 2 scoops of rice you know it's 2-3 cups of rice. You can also ask them to do light rice if you'd like and guesstimate it from there

When we first walked in, the place looked empty, and my wife and I almost considered leaving. Just as we were about to head out, a server came over, seated us, and explained the menu. The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.

Amazing dishes are cooked and served here. It is mostly Vietnamese cuisine that you would find here, but hey... who doesn't enjoy this kind of cuisine? There is so much this restaurant has to offer. Not to mention there are weekly events; even a karaoke night. Lastly, if you enjoy sea snails, escargot, and don't want to drive out of the IE to the OC for some... just come here!

The flavor and seafood were absolutely on point. My group of five ordered the Snow Star Family Bucket with Full House sauce, and everything came out fresh, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. Portions were solid and we all left very full and very satisfied. If I had to nitpick: The mild Full House sauce was a little spicy for something labeled "mild." Still tasty, just a heads-up for anyone sensitive to heat. The fried calamari was good flavor-wise, but it was a bit light on calamari and heavy on fries. Small side note: my wife and I love having boiled eggs with our seafood boil, but unfortunately they don't offer boiled eggs here. Not a deal-breaker, just something we personally missed. Overall though, great food, great service, and a spot I'd happily come back to again. Easily our favorite Star Crab so far.

They provided us menus, pretty straightforward; choose seafood, add sides for an extra cost, choose the flavor, and the spice level. One thing not noted on the menu is that shrimp isn't peeled, but they can peel them for an extra $6. And each order comes in pound increments. No half a pound offered. Your table is also covered with paper so you can eat the seafood boil from there. They provide bibs and gloves for no charge. Ultimately, we enjoyed our meals. Everything was flavorful and, unlike some other seafood boil spots, it didn't leave us feeling like we had heartburn afterward. There's a little sink for you to clean your hands at, which is nice since you dont have to wait for the restroom to empty. The service is what was a bit off. Like we asked for 3 Cajun fry boats but only received 2. Drinks were mixed up, and the clam chowder didn't arrive until about 20 minutes after our seafood bags had already been delivered. If you want ranch for your fries, they charge 60 cents for a small container. For drink refills, they bring a pitcher, but it's the kind typically used for measuring ounces. The server also tended to reach across one end of the table to grab empty cups or pass out food. Since I was seated at the end, it felt awkward having to help pass things down, especially since there were other access points to reach people in our party. We left around 920pm. I only mention it because we were the last group there, and we all noticed the heater seemed to have been turned on. Restaurant sign says open til 10pm on Sat. but we saw them turn off their open sign when we went outside. Needless to say, service could have been better.

The style, decor, music and ambiance was warm and inviting. The service was excellent, everyone was nice, friendly and worked well as a unit. Let's get to the food... I'll start by saying yes, yes and yes. From the appetizers to the desert.. spot on! To start we had cocktails. My wife had the Bayou Berry Smash, and I went with the Pecan Hips Old Fashion. The bartender did his thing on those cocktails. For the appetizer we chose Craw Fish Pies. The crust was buttery and flaky. There was just enough filling to get some in every bite. For the main courses, she chose the Sautéed Quater Catfish. She substituted the sauteed catfish for fried. The fish is served over a satuee of shrimp, crab, creole rice and ratatouille. It was exceptional! It was a big portion, but she ate every bit of it. Literally, no notes. I ordered the Crawfish St. Charles. A whole perfectly fried catfish filet on a bed of etouffée. The plating was beautiful and creative. There was a crawfish peeking through the curled end of the filet, which was fried to perfection. It was succulent, hot, crunchy, and juicy. That d!%# crawfish etouffée had me looking for a granny to walk out of the kitchen. It was sooo good, the perfect amount of spice and herbs, balanced with the gravy and crawfish and was perfect. We also ordered a side of red beans and rice. I had to try it, and it didn't disappoint. Once again they knocked it out of the park. The spice level, the texture of the beans and that smokey sausage hit the mark. To finish ourselves off we had the Croissant Beignets. All I can say is little pillows of heaven! We will most definitely pay them another visit. Pro Tip.. make sure you order the sausage with your red beans and Rice, the order doesn't come with it.
