Let me start by saying I showed up 30 minutes before closing and even though they had already stacked all the chairs and were mopping the floors everyone was really friendly and didn't make me feel rushed at all. I did feel bad though because they were obviously ready to leave so I ordered to go as fast as possible. I ordered a regular bowl with a salad base and the medium house sauce. Bad idea because the sauce tasted like extra salty soy sauce which was not a good combo with the salad. The fish was fresh though and maybe if I had skipped the sauce it would have been a different story, but there was no real flavor other than the overwhelming salt, even the crab was bland so I don't think I'll be back. read more

This is one of the best poke places I've been to! The serving size is a good amount for what you're paying. There is no extra charge for avocado, the fish is also fresh. I just wish they cut the fish squares a little smaller! Definitely love this place. read more

This place is just ok. Is it the best? No. Does it fill a need? Yes. This is the sixth place that I've tried poke in Southern California. The fish is good - not great - just good. I'd prefer knowing if it is farmed or wild fish. The sauces are very good. They don't fuss too much if you ask for extra on the side which is in contrast to the accompaniments. I'd prefer that the person who places the condiments on top does not do so after wiping her nose and coughing into her arm. The fish mixers wear plastic gloves - everyone should. They are very sparse with their condiments where other places are not and that will serve to send people elsewhere at they price they charge for a bowl. As other Yelpers have noted, the design of the cashier and drink area is not well thought out. It gets very, very crowded in that area and it's difficult to manage. The tables could get cleaned quicker. I've eaten here 6 times and each time, dirty tables for longer than one would like to see (and we have cleaned them ourselves at times). I'm not overly impressed with the service - as Yelper Mimi B noted, the servers make you feel like you are imposing on them. That is an area that needs to improve. On par with the other five places I've been, this place ranks #5 of 6. When the next poke place opens in Claremont, these folks will need to up their game or it will be lights out on a great concept. read more

I was super excited to hear about this restaurant but after my experience today never again. They are losing a while office of customers. I called to place an order and was rudely told by the cashier and manager that they were to busy for me to place a phone order. First I call, a guy picks up and hangs up. Call again ... was out on hold for 10 min and get hung up on.... call AGAIN and I'm put on hold but they eventually get back to me. I'm trying to place my order and the girl taking it sounds like she hates her job by how rudely she's asking me what I want in the bowl. I ask to speak with a manager and instead of trying to provide good service he replies by saying you know what we're to busy we have a line going around the block you can come make line like everyone else. WTH?!? How customers even return? The food is good but if you have to get treated like that for a bowl of rice and fish I rather go else where. They act like they are doing customers a favor. Mind you I'm doing you the favor, the people buying your food are doing you the favor. Please reconsider who you have working for you and if this is a family owned business then you need to reconsider if dealing with people is a line of work you should be in. read more

By far the best poke place in the San Gabriel Valley area. Is it authentic Hawaiian poke, no it's not, but it does a great job of giving you a relatively tasty meal at a cheap rate as oppose to eating something more fatty at the same price range. I recommend experimenting with the basics and just add on a few flairs like cilantro or garlic if you really like them since those can totally change the flavor of your bowl. I came in at around noon, and there were 7 people infront of me. There were only two workers on the line, and by the time I reached the end it had already been 30 mins.... This restaurant seems really understaffed for a store so busy. Even one more worker also could've helped a lot. Management really needs to step up.
