My absolute favorite place for a quick bite in town. I eat here probably three-four days a week and every time I'm amazed how much I still enjoy it. Blows away any other poke and even matches up with a great sushi restaurant in terms of ridiculously good raw fish. The staff is awesome, too, and always put a smile on my face. Okay so I really dig this place because it is definitely different. It's an original poke place. They don't have all the chipotle styled out like the other places, but it's still really good because the quality is good. It's hard because you can't really pick and choose everything you want or don't, but the mix is nice. The sizes are decently. We got the OG and Aloha. I liked them both. read more

The food is good, but they only answer the phone about half the time you call, so you have to call multiple times to get in an order. Five stars for the food! I've been here twice and absolutely love the food. My 3 stars comes from the inconsistency in portions. If you dine-in, you get a regular portion that you pay for, but if you order to-go, they cram the food into the smallest containers possible. For the steep price, do not get take-out! Yummy! I got the aloha bowl and added ginger and avocado, it was delicious! The next time I got the same thing but they didn't put as much ginger and I missed that flavor but it was still good, I will just make sure to request plenty of ginger :). There's nothing wrong with the poke here and it's actually very good but it's outrageously expensive compared to other poke restaurants in Austin. The pricing based on size doesn't make sense to me. ProTip- get a small size with rice on the side because you'll get the same amount of poke as a large with rice in the same bowl. read more

Before seeking out this restaurant, I reviewed ratings and pictures. I gather most of the reviews were from folks that really never lived or been to Hawaii and tried authentic Pok'e. The pictures caught my eye and were really tasty looking so we drove an hour and a half to get there. For starters, let me tell you the staff are friendly and keep a nice tidy place; especially the restroom. I'll give them 5 stars in this area. As for the Pok'e, that's a different story. I ordered the Aloha bowl, big 16oz with white rice. When it arrived at the table, I gave it 5 stars for presentation. Looked really good. I didn't understand the scoop of rice being on the side because I'm used to it being the bed for the Pok'e since all the flavor drips down to the bottom of the bowl. There's no room for mixing them together because the bowl is too tiny. You would end up with half your Pok'e on the table. Anyway, I took my first bite and it was room temperature which took me by surprise. The next bite was almost frozen cold and the bite after that was just cold. Every bite had a different temperature which I came to the conclusion the Ahi (tuna) was of the frozen type. Each bite was of a different texture and taste. For being a dish that is supposed to compare to an authentic Pok'e dish in the islands, this one was disappointing. I'm sorry I can't recommend this restaurant. Bear in mind that I grew up eating authentic Pok'e so it might be unfair to the rest of the folks that have never tried it. All I can say is give them a try.
