I wanted to try something new and it was my first time here. Firstly, I was not greeted in any manner by the employee. I mentioned to the kid working that it was my first time here so I wasn't sure how it worked, even though I looked at the menu. He did not explain things very well at all and I was still confused. When I would ask a question, instead of answering it and helping me understand, he repeated himself with whatever his initial "explanation" was. When I asked to clarify, again he did not, and repeated himself with whatever he initially said. It was said in a very monotone and robotic way. The customer service provided by this employee was so poor. He needs to be retained. He doesn't know how to talk to or communicate with customers. He came off rude, even though I don't think he was intentionally trying to be. He needs to greatly work his customer service skills. As for the food, It was ok. I personally found it too pricey for what you get and I wasn't impressed. And they don't give you a paper receipt. Instead they give you the option to text or email. I rather not. I hope the owner needs to take this into consideration that some people don't want to be spammed with texts or emails. Also it's not a "friendly" option to those that don't have a smart phone to receive a text receipt. read more

Where I live in Carmichael doesn't have any poke spots nearby, so we drove a bit out of the way to get to this location in Antelope. The place was clean and the employees were nice. However, the portions were a bit small for the high price. The toppings didn't seem particularly fresh, they were out of one of the fishes, and their octopus looked like more of a medley than anything else. I jave never had poke before. For those who have no idea what it is the easiest explanation I can think of is deconstructed sushi. Everything was fresh, crisp and good. The service was good with a smile. The place is tiny so not too good for groups. They keep it clean also. I am a huge fan of poke, but I was extremely disappointed by this restaurant. My boyfriend really likes wings, but I dont, so we decided to try this restaurant because it was next door to Fire Wings. I got a bowl with 3 scoops, and I got ahi, albacore and scallops. When I tried it, it was clear that the albacore was either old or had been frozen and defrosted several times. I took the bowl back less than 10 minutes later and the man who created the bowl couldn't figure out how to do a refund on ApplePay and told me to call back during the day. I just called. The man who answered the phone clearly didn't care. He said he didnt know when the owner would be back and that he had to get back to work. Questionable raw fish + shoddy customer service = a restaurant I won't return to, and I hope this post encourages others to look elsewhere. read more

I've been to many Poke places. This one was simple in design and easy to navigate. Choose your base, toppings (unlimited! Ask for more if you want more than what they give you), protein and sauce. Everything looked very fresh, even at 7pm the avocado had no browning. Huge portion of rice, next time I'll probably do half rice half salad. Price is comparable to other poke places. I did think the mochi was over-priced ($2.50 each) until I tasted it!! You can tell it's manyin house, they were creamy, soft and not too chewy...literally melted in my mouth. We have been here several times and I have never been disappointed. I like that I can get 1/2 white rice (I'm Asian and must have white rice) and 1/2 salad. It's the best of both worlds where I can balance health and tradition. The food is great, the service is great, and I'm so happy to have this option in Antelope. We have lived here for almost 20 years and it's nice to have good ethnic food which has been lacking (outside of good Mexican food). I'm not going to lie, my husband has gone next door and I've order the draft beer and ordered at Poke Town, eaten outside, and am loving I can get beer with my poke bowl. I've ordered from this place 3 times now. 2 online to-go and 1 through Door Dash. All 3 times my order has been wrong. Wrong fish, wrong rice (white not brown!!), missing toppings, and even missing add-ons like avocado which cost an extra $1!! So glad that there is finally a poke place close to me. I've been waiting for this for sooo long so I'm happy that it's now open. I usually like to get the rice base because it seems more filling for me on top of the fact that I just live rice. You can pick as much or as little as you want. I was next door to this facility with my nephew a kid not a grown up who can hold it until getting back to our house. He asked if he could use the restroom went in before me and came back ready to cry became they stated he needed to be a customer. I went it asked why they won't let a child use the restroom. So I bought something because he couldn't hold it. A canned drink 3 bucks. So for a child to use the bathroom here it will cost you 3 dollars. I recommend some place else. Rude. Just rude. read more

I just finished eating this and I could only stomach half the bowl.. the salmon didn't taste fresh it was rubbery and the shrimp didn't seem cooked enough it was like see through. That was the worst service also the worst poke I've had in my life I don't understand how they have so many 5 star reviews makes me think some people just have never eaten good food... because I'm pretty disgusted that I even ate that. Now getting to the shit service the kid working there has no personality and is just straight rude. I had a bad experienced yesterday. Very stingy and over priced, almost $16 for a jumbo, the bowl was not even full. The serviced was so bad. I took my food to go and the lady asked if I want soy sauce and I said yes, but she walked away from me and didn't put any soy sauce in my bag and when I asked for napkins they just literally want me to fetched it because they pointed the napkin holder on one of the tables. I enjoy Yummy Poke in Rocklin so much better, though Poke Town is closer to me. The cuts of fish are so small! I don't feel they give enough of anything. I still feel so hungry after eating my bowl which is pricey! I make the long drive to Rocklin always now because I truly feel as though I get my money's worth. I feel Poke Town's owner approach in offering little portions while starting out the business is incorrect. When you're first opening and trying to attract new customers, you must pull out all the stops to build yourself a great reputation. Afterwards when you're well established and people like your business, if you wish to scale back just a little bit, then maybe the bad reviews won't hurt as much. I took my family here tonight because we like to try new things. I really did not know what to expect as I had never heard of Poke. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean and well lit the restaurant was and the friendliness of the staff. I had my choice of a regular (2 scoops), large (3 scoops) or jumbo (5 scoops) size which can be based on white or brown rice, or salad. Admittedly I kind of flinched at the prices because they seemed a bit high however I could not have been more pleased at the generous size of the end product. Even more important that the serving size was the quality of the food. The freshness exceeded my expectations so I could taste high quality in every single bite! This place is a must go for anyone who wants a quality lunch or dinner at a fairly reasonable price. I will be back! read more

So I've come to this poke place since the day it opened, multiple days per week consistently. Today I forgot my debit card and spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to set up my Apple Pay. After realizing I was out of options I asked them if they could accept any other forms of online payments just as a one time courtesy for a LOYAL customer which they coldly declined and turned me away. I understand that they didn't owe me anything, and it was my mistake entirely, but they knew worst case scenario I'd be back in a day or 2 to pay them back since I'm there SO SO often, this is a TINY private owned business with the owner on the floor often, not corporate, if they wanted to help they would.
