This place is inconspicuous from the street and super underrated. A humble mom and pop shop with an extensive menu of poke bowls, sushi rolls, and noodle soups. First time ordering take out and from start to finish it was the easiest most delightful experience I could have asked for. Staff was so polite and nice. They have a sheet of paper where you pick your all of your ingredients, in detail, so you don't have to point and guess at what is what. Which in my opinion is a great idea. Ingredients wise; fresh! I went around 7:15pm, they close at 8:30, and everything was still fresh. Mind blown. I'm very picky with my poke bowls, well if you know me I'm picky with everything lol but poke is one of my favorite dishes. So I take it personal lol. Ordered through Uber Eats - Pickup. Every item i had ordered tasted great. I was particular impressed with the Alameda Roll, not only did it had nice aesthetics, it contained several complimentary toppings such as seaweed, raw salmon and scallops and in-house sauce. I felt a little frisky and added some wasabi onto my salmon skin roll and felt my sinuses clear, whoa . I totally would repeat the same order. Friendly and quick service. I was in the area with my coworker and we were looking for a late night food spot and we found Poke Zone - even better, they offered boba so I did not have to look for boba/dessert afterwards. Parking is street parking, but since it was nighttime, parking was a breeze. The service here is pretty bad here and the wait for food/drinks here is very long - they even messed up my drink order by giving me the wrong drink than the green milk tea that I ordered and had to redo it, which took longer. My coworker ordered a crispy California roll, while I ordered a sake maki - she thought her roll was just alright and she usually is not too picky and I thought my salmon was not as fresh as it could had been. I ordered a green milk tea with boba. The milk tea tasted like ice milk with a strong tea aftertaste. They put so much ice as well, more that 75% of the cup was ice and the boba was stuck under all that ice - I had to wait until the ice was melting, so by that time I was basically just drinking watered down milk tea. read more

This place has some bomb poke. During my travels to the Bay Area, I was staying in Oakland and stumbled upon this place nearby. The bowls have a generous amount of food in them. We got our own bowls and we couldn't finish them even when we were HANGRY. The poke takes a little bit of time for them to make but it is truly delicious. We came here two times during our 4 day stay. I really love the different topping options they give you as well. We also got the unagi (eel) bowl and it was good. The drinks are good too!! Poke Zone is definitely my favorite poke place in Chinatown. I like that you can order ahead of time for pick up or even have it delivered. Their fish is always fresh and they have an awesome array of toppings you can get with it. You can get white sushi rice, brown rice or salad as a base. Or even a combination of two bases. I usually get a medium size bowl so I'm not overly stuffed. Seating is limited, so if you're doing lunch, I would recommend getting there early or taking it to go. I ordered two Lion King rolls, and unfortunately, they were overcooked and stuck to the bottom. I tried calling the restaurant right away, but no one answered. When I finally got through the next day, they said they would refund me and call me the next day. However, when I followed up the day after because they never contacted me, they suddenly refused to give me a refund for burning my sushi. I've been looking for a poke place and tried this out. I tried it a second time. Regarding the location, it's a small primarily to go area with a few seats. Parking is a bit limited. The poke, nigiri, and sashimi are good for the price! But what makes it difficult is that the wait is excruciating. I understand it's not "fast food", but for a primarily take out restaurant it took ~20 minutes for 2 poke bowls and ~35 minutes for a sushi combo. If you plan to go, I'd recommend ordering ahead (people still appeared to wait ~5-10 minutes) or have a lot of time on hand. I will not be returning unfortunately. read more

As I was screening my option, they were freshly preparing the salmon which looked very fresh and bright. Good to know seafood are prepared daily. You have options to select as many sides, toppings, and sauces as you want on the protein bowl. The only disadvantage is everything you selected, are packed in a tiny bowl. Let me start by saying that I love poke! It is good and somewhat of a healthier choice. My boyfriend and I went here to grab some poke for dinner on a Monday night. We scored front parking. I'm sure parking in this area sucks, it's Chinatown. I like the looks of the place, it is very modern. It's not very big. There's only 7 seats or so along the window. It seems more of a to-go place. I don't recall being greeted when we walked in. We noticed the couple in front of us grab 2 sheets of paper, so we did the same. Turns out this is more of a self serve type of poke joint. You check off what you want in your bowl, take the paper to the register, and pay for your food. I would consider this poke with a twist. This is the 2nd poke place I've tried that have toppings such as edamame and mangoes. this place even has corn, oshinko, tamago, tofu skin, and crispy noodles. These toppings are not the usual in a poke bowl, but they aren't bad either. I don't mind the difference at all because the edamame has a crunch and the mango adds a sweetness. Now it was my fist time trying it and sometime when going to these places the food can be fishy tasting and u appealing they also do milk teas and juices I went with the Thai iced tea with red beans which was really tasty. I think they have about a 10% chance of having everything in the order the way you ordered it. Please please please poke zone, work on your consistency with regard to following the order instructions. This place is fantastic. Fresh fish, fresh ingredients, a ton of topping and sauce options, a free side with each bowl, all at a good price. Poke Zone does both poke bowls and boba. For the poke, you have to fill out a menu with your choices of base, toppings, sauces, and sides. There are two bowl sizes (regular and large, but on the menu they're defined as either 2 scoops of protein for $8.95 or 3 scoops for $10.95). I go with the regular size bowl with steamed rice, ahi tuna, edamame, jalapeno, tamago, sesame seeds, and avocado, with the spicy poke sauce and sesame ponzu. I get the miso soup as a side. Every time I get Poke Zone I'm so satisfied. It feels good eating something this fresh and with ingredients that are good for you, but it's especially good when it's genuinely delicious. I get a lot of food in my bowl and never walk away feeling hungry, just perfectly satisfied. The staff are always friendly and service is fast, yet the bowls are always presented really nicely. I hope Poke Zone continues to serve up delicious, fresh food for many years to come. Since T&Bowl closed, this has become my regular, very-close-to-home poke spot and I'm loving it. read more
