Finally got to try this place out! I came on a monday and found out it was closed! I guess they really believe Mondays are the worst so they close! Make sense to me! I wouldn't want to work on a Monday. Its a cute little joint, modern looking with a bunch of board games on the side and some cookbooks! I order the regular with white rice and they recommended the sriracha mayo for the sauce (if you like spicy) since they have quite a LOT! Bunch of toppings you could possibly add or remove. I had the regular add-ons with additional green onions. ALSO! you get 1 FREE premium topping. I was like " are you lying? or is this forreal" I decided to get the crab meat which is just imitation crab but none the less I wasn't expecting it for free. So for the regular size you get a regular styrofoam container. Lame I thought I was going to get one of those black bowls! Turns out if you get Large then you get those bowls. Anyways it is a decent amount of food definitely got me stuffed. Its a nice ratio from meat to fish to lettuce. The fish was good, but not super fresh. A negative thing is that my friend ordered the soba noodles and she ended up getting vermicelli noodles. So think twice before ordering the soba noodles. Maybe they just ran out that day? But it would of been nice if they informed the customers. read more

As far as all poke places go, their fish quality better be edible otherwise they'd be shut down and be filled with 1-star reviews from people having stomach aches. So I'm going off of what i'm getting that makes them unique. This place is good and acceptable, but not really mindblowing. 3.5 FOOD QUALITY: This is the first time where I've had poke that wasn't really heavy seasoned with their sauces, and I appreciated that I got to taste the fish for what it was. However, the salad was dressed much more than the fish itself so I felt like everything was disjointed. So the rice was really warm and fluffy, the salad was cold and dressed, and the poke was arguably sitting on top itself with all the other toppings. It tasted good all separately, but nothing came together for me. ENVIRONMENT: I'm just going to note that their tables were WOBBLY when I went. So be careful if you're putting your elbows on to the table and/or accidentally bumping into other tables. My first ever poke bowl and I am hooked! I was visiting from out of state and stayed around the corner and yelp directed me to Pokestuf. Not sure how other poke places does it but I was overwhelmed by the variety of choices for the sauces and toppings. There are 3 different categories for toppings in which some are already included in your bowl, some it's all you can chose and the other you can pay extra for. You, of course, also have your choice of fish and if you want white rice, brown rice, noodles, greens or half and half. This used to be the infamous Ice Que with the funnel ice cream but now the owner changed it and made it into a poke mix place. Let me just say... At first I had my reservations and I wasn't quite too sure about how I felt about this place.. I mean another poke place... I was wrong! The food here is so amazing and the employees that work here are really sweet! They have so many choices which can be overwhelming but the best part about this place is that it's customizable. The food is fresh and the way they make sure that everyone gets the same amount of food is that they weigh their fish which I thought was a pretty snazzy thing! How they work is that you pick your bowl size and then there's three type of fishes already included in the bowl (you can customize though and choose just one or two fish, like I said they weigh it so no worries if you think you won't get enough). Also, take note that they already include mix greens into their bowl so you have three bases to choose from (rice, soba noodles, mix greens) but since the mix greens is added already just pick rice and/or soba noodles! Then they have a lot of toppings that they include, it's much easier to tell them what you don't want within the list rather than what you don't want. The sauces are amazing.. If you're not sure get the Lemon grass ponzu (Absolutely amazing) and a side of the sriracha mayo! But if you're not sure they will give you samples! I must admit the only reason that I'm taking off a star is because the wait is so long... I mean I understand everything is customizable and they mix it for you.. But some of the people were not working with hustle... I think they need to find a way of how to keep the quality but with a little more speed. I asked for extra onions and they ended up putting onions in my bfs bowl and he HATES onions LOL i tried looking for vegetables like green onions in my bowl but there was barely any like there was maybe 3 little pieces of green onions... and mini chopped avocados. I use to like raw fish .. and then I hated it .. and then I kinda liked some of it again ... so this was actually the first Poke place I've been to, although poke shops seem to be popping up everywhere left and right. You choose your base, your sauces, your toppings, and your extras. They have a mix of 4 different types of fish, but you could also choose not to have whatever fish you don't want. For bases, there's salad, white rice, brown rice, and cha soba noodles. The 4 fish options they have are: ahi, salmon, albacore, and striped bass. There's a huge variety of different sauces to choose from and then there are toppings that it comes with and add-ons -- all for the same regular price or large price. I was really looking forward to trying it with the cha soba noodles, but they happened to be out of it when I visited, so I went with brown rice. I knew I wanted tuna, but also wanted to try something else so I got tuna + albacore. Being the indecisive person I am, I really couldn't decide what sauces I wanted... but the cashier was patient and friendly, ready to offer samples of the different sauces I was debating. I went with the cilantro yuzu kushu (would recommend) + korean pepper. I customized my own poke bowl with a few add ons, and boooooom, there it was. The regular was quite filling for me as there are many toppings. I would've liked more sauce, but was able to ask for some more, where I tried miso honey (too sweet for my liking) and lemongrass ponzu (yum). Everything tasted fresh and I liked how thinly the cucumbers were sliced, although I kinda wish the salad was chopped a bit smaller instead of the larger chunks of lettuce. I'd probably come again to try different combinations of the sauces + the noodles. Coming off as part poke joint, part child daycare, the area is spacious and filled with a handful of small tables and one big one. There's also a dresser of games and books on the side for kids and the everyday man child. I ordered a regular poke with a white rice base, lemongrass ponzu sauce, and all the default fixings. Since it already comes with salad, you can basically choose any other base like soba noodles or brown rice. The sauce, mixed in with the salad and fish, leaves behind nice citrus and tart flavors, yet tends to envelop all of the fun toppings so you don't know what the heck is there half the time. Lady friend got a similar bowl but opted for sesame shoyu sauce instead. Both our bowls had way too much rice and they forgot my friend's Korean peppers. (She was devastated btw.) By doing so, it almost seemed like they were trying to overcompensate for adding less of each topping, including smaller-sized fish. Tsk tsk. I want to give them a 3.3 but since that's not an option I have to give them a 3. I actually want this place to do well as it is close to me so hopefully some improvements can be made. First I'll start with the good news. It's a small place and I was on the go so I wasn't expecting anything gourmet. Taste-wise overall it was still good. I think it's hard to go wrong with a poke bowl. Now to the areas that need improving. - For the quality and ambiance I think the price is a bit high. I know fish is not cheap but either step up the quality or the atmosphere. $9.50 or $12.50 a bowl is a bit much. - Taste was so so. I mean I could eat it again but there is so much more potential. The fish didn't seem that fresh for one thing. I got a poke bowl at Ralph's on Atlantic and it just felt really fresh. The fish here seemed like it had been pre mixed for the day. It didn't go bad or anything but could taste/look more fresh. - Too much sauce. I selected the ponzu sauce and although ponzu is super tasty I felt the poke bowl was a little ever so slightly too soggy from the sauce. Either they put too much or it's the way they mix it. - Too many options. I love most of the options but the way the ordering is done could be simplified. Think In and Out. Simple. Make a few options/combos. Their menu has like 4 steps and each step has a ton of choices. Could be good but I think it could be simplified down. - Ambiance: I know it's not a fancy restaurant but still... If you are going to serve $12 bowls fix your interior design. It feels all white and plasticky inside. Go with some soft wood desks and warmer lighting inside. A few desks don't cost much and changing the lighting isn't much either. Right now it feels like a shaved ice place.. which is what the place was before I believe. - Presentation is also majorly lacking. Haven't you seen master chef? Presentation adds points too and in some ways even makes the food taste better. The fish and salad and rice was basically tossed and mushed in a bowl. Give it a nicer look and feel and you can charge that extra dollar. read more

This was my second time ever having poke, and I don't quite remember my first time, so this was essentially my first time ever having poke. The whole meal altogether tasted really good. Sometimes I thought it was a wee bit fishy. But that's probably normal? It is raw fish after all. The regular order is just enough for a person to feel like they ate a little too much. I got the lemongrass ponzu sauce. I tried the honey miso and thought that was way too sweet. Also tried the cilantro yuzu sauce but wanted a little more oomph. Looking back, I wish I got something even stronger. I felt like most of the flavoring I tasted in my meal came from the toppings and the salad. All of which were yummy. For your free extra premium topping, I recommend the seaweed salad. My friend got the crab topping and was disappointed when she only saw a few shreds of imitation crab. Toppings galore! I was digging in the bowl to find my rice. There wasn't much rice since there was a lot of salad and toppings, I think next time I will opt out on the salad. The poke was flavorful, I chose the lemongrass ponzu(one of their most popular sauces) other places tend to give you more fish, maybe this is why they give you more toppings. I know they just opened not too long ago, but their current process of taking down everyone's order will not be very effective once they start getting busier. They need an assembly line, move the items to where they have the rice cooker to show everyone what everything looks like. No one wants to stare at big rice cookers.
