    Side of large white rice
    Bill A.

Stopped by The Jumping Lobster on Main Street after driving by--it's been around for a minute so we finally decided to give it a try. They had a deal going on for $12.99 per pound on the shrimp seafood boil, which caught our attention. We ordered 2 pounds of the seafood boil, a large side of rice, garlic bread, and Cajun fries. The garlic bread was nothing special--pretty mid. The white rice, though, was actually really good. The seafood boil itself was decent, but nothing that really stood out. One thing that stood out (not in a good way) was the sauce--they were very stingy with it. I had to order an extra side because my boil wasn't saucy enough, and they do charge extra for that. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10. The aesthetics and portion sizes were solid, but there's definitely room for improvement, especially with the sauce.

They have mala as part of the sauce. I requested for everything but mala with mild spicy. Didnt realize that mild spicy would still have mala in it. Would get no spicy as i am not a fan of mala for seafood boils. For every pound, you get 1 corn and 1 potato. I think the crawfish are in season right now because they were pretty big. It also seems like they use jumbo shrimp. Clams seem like it is over 1 lb too because at other places they give you half that amount. Wouldn't get fries next time because i got too many potatoes. And the potatoes were not small. Service was a little slow but it might be because there isnt enough workers. But they still got things done. Would come back though.

Family pack w/ crab legs $10 extra

Another seafood boil restaurant on Main st? Yay! I love seafoods so for sure gotta try it out. When we arrived, there was only one party inside. Kinda scary lol we still ordered. The family pack with the add on of snow crab legs for an additional $10 was the way to go. DO NOT ORDER THE CRAB LEGS BY ITSELF. I didn't notice the price until the bill came out. It was close to $40 for like 1 1/2 - 2 clusters only. Better off getting another family pack with the add on. They have a few flavors to choose from. We ordered the original Cajun which was the garlic & lemon mixed for both bags. However, they ended up giving us "The Boom" for the family pack. It was basically a mixture of all the sauces. We didn't choose it in the first place because it included the numbing sauce. We didn't tell them since it wasn't that bad. Not that spicy. I enjoyed the original Cajun more. It was so flavorful!! The side of fried rice was a good deal. It had the wok flavor. That was a plus =] Service was good. I don't mind returning =] their crab legs were fresh and the size was good. Hope it stay that way.

Family pack - shrimp, crawfish and snow crab

Decided to give this place a try since Boiling Crab was going to be a 100+ min wait. Got the family pack - shrimp, crawfish and snow crab (+$10)! Shrimp was ok, crawfish were juice and the snow crab was absolutely worth the upgrade! It also came with boiled eggs, potato and corn. We got the mild original cajun sauce and it did have a bit of a kick. Service was friendly!

This is a fun spot to visit on Main Street. Parking in the back is easy. This is why I love eating in Alhambra. The interior is bright and cheerful. The staff are friendly and helpful. They offer a decent beer selection and you get plenty of food for your money! Great place for a casual date, a meal with the family, or just hanging with friends. We started with the butterfly shrimp with Cajun fries. The shrimp were big and everything was fried perfectly. We also ordered the seafood family pack with the original Cajun sauce. You get to pick three seafood items. We chose shrimp, crab legs and fried tilapia. It also comes with corn on the cob and potatoes (literally three big boiled potatoes), boiled eggs, and sausage. For the sauce, you pick the heat level. We went with mild and it had a good kick. The food was a little on the salty side, so be prepared to wash it down with lots of water or beer. Next time I want to order mussels and add a side of steamed rice to break up the flavor a little. It's a messy meal, but you get bibs and gloves and they cover your table with butcher paper, so clean up is a snap. It was so much food and there was plenty to take home! We'll be back.

Came here to try Lobster Pasta and it was delicious. the serving size was just right. Pasta with soda and tip is around $40 . The place has very nice decors and Instagram worthy . I will definitely try the lobster roll and shrimp Boil. There was no wait and service was fast,

This place finally opened! I was glad to see a new shrimp boil place in the neighborhood besides the across the street crab spot. Loved the decor, very colorful clean and fun. The servers were amazing, friendly and extra attentive. There's a large variety of menu items to choose from; Shrimp boil, Chinese, sushi rolls and more. We ordered the shrimp boil and some sushi rolls, everything tasted good but would've preferred a stronger cajun taste, less buttery and more spice flavor in the shrimp boil. I still like the idea of the food variety so will return to try other items and hopefully improved cajun shrimp boil taste.

Finally got the chance to try Jumpin' Lobster over the weekend. Hubby & I had only walked by and got some to-go menus to look at previously. It seems like they got rid of their sushi/omakase and are mainly focusing on their seafood boil. I was a bit worried about it being directly across the street from a popular staple for Cajun seafood boil, but their "The Boom (Mix 'em All)" seasoning was really unique AND might I even say I enjoyed it more than the competitor across the street! Oh ho ho! I love that they give out lime wedges, bibs and gloves automatically. I was told their "Original Cajun" is a combination of cajun, lemon butter, and garlic butter seasoning (more-so the usual cajun seafood boil mix); and their "The Boom (Mix 'em All)" also contains a Sichuan Mala, which you can definitely taste and was really good. Hubby & I both enjoyed. We ordered 1 lb. of Shrimp & 1 lb. of Crawfish. Surprisingly, the crawfish was fresher than the shrimp. We'll come back just for this which crawfish is still in season in the summer. Some of the shrimp was difficult to peel, so we felt like it must a bit older... But I do like that all boils come with 1 Corn and 1 Potato. I just don't know if they count that towards the pound weight... We also ordered the Jumpin' Lobster Specialty Lobster Roll. It was pretty good and comes with Cajun fries, but I don't know if I'd order again. They have fountain sodas and some Beers and Sojus from what I recall. Restaurant space is open and clean with sea animals strewn over their walls. I think they could probably utilize making some lunch specials or maybe even a happy hour menu to utilize the nice Japanese-style bar in the back. Restrooms are clean. Service was fairly quick. They have their own parking lot (shared with Rick's burger / 38°), or you park at any of the lots over by First Street and walk over. Will be back again :)

Finally got to try Jumpin' Lobster, the new seafood spot in the neighborhood that we've been eyeing for a while. With so many great food options in Alhambra, seafood fans usually head straight to Boiling Crab across the street--but that place always has a crazy long wait. So it was a pleasant surprise to be seated right away at Jumpin' Lobster, especially with our party of six already gathered. The restaurant has a large, clean interior with plenty of seating, and the decor is fun and modern, fitting the seafood boil vibe. There were two women working the floor, and they were both super polite and attentive--no rushing, no pressure, just solid service all around. The menu really surprised me. I expected your standard lobster and seafood boil options, but this place has egg rolls, noodles, chicken tenders, ribs, and more. Definitely not a one-trick pony. Here's what we ordered: - I went with the Jumpin' Lobster Special - the lobster roll with sweet potato fries. No regrets there. - Miori got the 1 lb of peeled shrimp, which was great because she didn't have to mess with shells. - Our son went for the butterfly shrimp basket with Cajun fries--a solid pick. - Our friends ordered a variety of items, and everyone at the table was happy with their food. A larger party came in while we were eating and asked us how the food was--we gave them the thumbs up, especially since getting seated quickly is already a win compared to the usual seafood spots nearby. There's also plenty of parking in the lot behind the restaurant, which makes it super convenient for larger groups or family outings. Loved the plastic gloves and bibs they provided--kept the mess to a minimum and made cleanup easy. Highlights: - Seated immediately (huge bonus compared to Boiling Crab) - Wide, unexpected menu with something for everyone - Friendly, attentive service with zero rush - Clean space with nice decor and plenty of seating - Ample parking in the back - Loved the gloves and bibs for the seafood experience If you're craving seafood in Alhambra and want a more relaxed, quicker alternative to Boiling Crab, Jumpin' Lobster is absolutely worth checking out. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu.

    Salmon nigiri
    Nina T.

So..this place just opened up in my parent's neighborhood and they wanted to try it. This is definitely the only place I know where you can get sushi, Cajun, noodles, fried riced and lobster rolls all in one place, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Because they offer so many different items, they don't seem to specialize in one thing. The Cajun bags were too salty, albeit the shrimp had a good texture to it. The noodles (which I normally wouldn't order but my mom wanted them) looked bland and colorless. The Cajun fries were okay, nothing special. My daughter loves salmon nigiri so she really enjoyed it. When I tried it, the rice was cold and flavorless. I wasn't expecting much when I saw the main menu (which I forgot to take a picture of). It looks like a Togo menu brochure if you know what I mean. The cheap looking menu did not match the nice aesthetic and decor of the restaurant. Service was good, a little too good? When we first sat, we were approached by three different servers within one minute span of each other asking if we were ready. I really hope this place does well, especially being across from another well known Cajun place.

2 individual pounds of shrimp (each comes with a potato and corn!) + Cajun fries
    Ashley T.

Ngl came here because boiling crab had an 1 hour wait. But after having their seafood I'll definitely be back for their lower cost and plump shrimp! Shrimp was 12.99 per pound when we went and we got the mixed sauce. Sauce is good and has a little bit of Szechuan flavoring. Shrimp were big and juicy and I love that it comes with a potato and corn!! I happened to get a HUGE potato (maybe 2/3 the size of a russet potato) but the other order got a regular sized potato so maybe you'll get extra lucky with your potato size. Service was great and attentive. Total meal with 2lb shrimp + Cajun fries came out to be 35$ after tax!! Great pricing and we will be back.

This is the "Boom Sauce", you have to ask it. It's like the "In and Out" secret menu.
    Henry M.

Great beer selection, from Sapporo Premium, Tsingtao, Heineken, Modelo, Paicifco and they have Soju too! Soju is like a light wine drink that can be a great alternative. We had the Calamari Squid for appetizers and the Salt & Pepper Crab. Make sure to try the "Boom Sauce" , you can choose the level of "spicy" that you prefer. The entrance has an awareness light display...WOW factor . They have "All you can eat" and " Family Pack" and a "Shrimp Special" too. The staff is friendly and professional too The restrooms are clean and well kept.

I just got food from here and didn't even finish it. Not good at all tbh, the fries taste like they were just heated up from earlier & the shrimp isn't great. I put two stars because the customer service was good but I don't recommend the butterfly shrimp with fries at all.

This place does a great job of accommodating our large party. The food is delicious! Lots of options for everyone's preferences. They have super quick and friendly service. These are some of our favorite dishes: Basil clams: fresh clams and fresh fragrant basil make this my mother in laws favorite. Deep fried tofu: such a comforting dish. Crunchy on the outside, silky tofu on the inside, plus a delicious dipping sauce. This is my favorite. Salt and pepper pork: savory and crunchy pork with tons of flavor. My nephews love this and we need to order multiple each time. Steamed chicken: simple but well made. The chicken is tender and incredibly juicy. My husband orders this each time. Fried calamari: crunchy yet very tender squid. The seasoning is peppery. Fried sole fish: super crunchy that we enjoy eating the fins. The inside is tender and juicy. And it has a good dipping sauce too. Lobster on a bed of noodles: great for garlic lovers. Love how fresh the Lobster is and the noodles are so fulfilling. Tip: pay by cash to avoid the credit card fees. Overall the prices are very competitive. It's one of the cheaper seafood restaurants while tasting phenomenal! Always great service, plenty of parking, and no wait.

I've actually been coming here since I was a kid when I used to live in Monterey Park, so this place holds a lot of memories for me. It's one of those restaurants that has stayed consistently good throughout the years. My absolute favorite dish here is the red rice with shaken beef. The sweet and sour sauce they give with it is SO bomb and honestly makes the whole dish even better. I seriously crave it all the time. The house special fish fillet was also amazing, super flavorful and definitely one of my go-to dishes here. Portions are generous, making it perfect for family style dining and celebrations. The atmosphere always feels lively and welcoming, especially for bigger groups. Service was busy but still attentive considering how packed it was. I'm sorry for no pics this time, but they really deserve the recognition they receive. Definitely one of those longtime spots I'll always come back to.

First, parking was so difficult!! So many cars crammed close to each other and the restaurant wasn't even full, but we parked in the street nearby. We had a large party and split into two tables, each table had peanuts and tea, we also ordered our own bit with the same serve at the same time. We ordered our usual dishes such as corn soup, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper squid, sal and pepper pork chops, filet beef dish, hainan chicken and many more. The service seemed slow, the bad part is that our other table got all their dishes while we had none. It took a while before our first dish arrived which was honey walnut shrimp, it was good, a bit soggy but flavorful. We asked for rice and started eating, once most of the shrimp was gone the rest of the dishes came. They were delicious, they tasted great and had good portions. The pork chop was great fresh but soon started to get tough as it cooled. The fried squid had parts that were very seasoned and some bland. My sister in law ordered a seafood tofu dish that was the best one but we ate everything before I took a photo. We also shared dishes across the tables to try out our orders. I tried the fried crab but it had more garlic than crab! The restroom was the sad part, there was no toilet paper, and no paper towels. The women's restroom door was propped wide open as well. I have always liked this restaurant and have been coming here frequently over the years. I've enjoyed their lobster several times with my family, and almost every dish I've tried here has been delicious. That's why I was especially disappointed with the Beef with Chinese Broccoli this time, as it was far too salty. Despite that, I still think this is a great place for lunch. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced, the service is always good, and the portions of rice are very generous. One thing I especially appreciate is the complimentary orange slices they serve to every customer after the meal. The oranges are always fresh and sweet, making a nice ending to lunch. One other thing I noticed during this visit was that the restroom now has a new premium hand soap. Everything was good and nothing missed the mark, except the lobster had a ridiculous amount of green onions and they skimped on the noodles. I felt that the noodles were also overcooked and lack flavor of their own. For a Chinese restaurant, there was pretty quick service. Waiters frequent the table to collect dirty dishes and refill waters

Best $100.00 lunch I've had in a while. Worth every bite! Oysters fresh. Lightly sweet, paired well with cocktail and chimichurri sauce. Both cocktails were light on the palate with enough of a hit, not too sugary. Paired well with Oysters. The House Pan Roast. Without question I'd recommend to anyone who's visiting here the first time. I was originally going to settle for some market price lobster pasta but decided since everyone posted the House Pan Roast Steam the most might as well. Great choice regardless. Bartender Manager very professional. You feel taken care of. Ambiance without question excellent dine in atmosphere, very modern decor. So I just came back from a dispatch to Lansing Michigan and ate at one of their Seafood Boils...does not compare to this establishment in Temple City Los Angeles!!!

Fish and chips were great; fries were herbed and well seasoned; calamari was crazy good. Clam chowder was remarkably delicious - I'm from New England so I'm picky about my chowder, especially if it's not "authentic" - but this chowder with the Cajun twist was really something else - a definite must try. Bread pudding (the original with the berry compote) is a must have, so be sure to leave room Also, our server Jenny is a superhero - she was the only one there and held it down all by herself during a busy Friday lunch service; she was genuinely friendly, highly attentive and gave great suggestions on what to order 10 stars.

Rolling cart service... with friendly efficiency from the women pushing the carts...wide variety available...many same items with choices of meat....shrimp, beef, bbq pork, chicken fillings......things meant to be hot were hot, fried things were crunchy and not greasy.. Things that were delicious: The pineapple bun with the custard filling. 5/5 The beefball, well formed, with the nicest visible chunks of water chestnuts and strong cilantro flavor...usually this meat dish has a hint of orange rind, which I don't like...so I was happy the meatball was more cilantro forward. 5/5 The long rice noodle with beef...also we had the the same with bbq pork were delish. 5/5 for all three...as we also had the shrimp one, my party ate it all up first. I didn't eat the chicken feet, but it was enjoyed by all. The siu mai were large and made with shrimp, which I can't eat, but our party of 6 enjoyed. The platterful of soy chicken was enjoyed by all, just beware the chicken head will be included if you are squeamish. The soy chicken feet, also seemed to please. No one rushed us out even though the dim sum service was over by 3 pm. We had a leisurely meal and waiters made sure to come by and refill our tea kettles. I really enjoyed Capital Seafood today. About 10 years ago, I had a bad experience with takeout roasted duck, so I avoided coming back, but things change for the better.....food was great...and clearly a lot of diners packed thr place and were smiling and laughing as they dined.... I even enjoyed watching the staff change the dining room to accommodate a large banquet later this evening, which included the assembly of a large stage/dais. Very interesting how the waiters transformed the dining room to accommodate the needs of the banquet to come. Well done staff!!
