My fav Poke spot in the South Bay Area! I first tried Pokeworks in New York and was utterly blown away. I didn't expect much when I saw this location in Mountain View but the taste and quality was exactly on par with the New York location. I always build my own bowl and they really never disappoint. Fish quality is always fantastic and service is always friendly. I do find occasionally they run out of random ingredients (wonton crisps for example), but never in big ticket items like fish or sauce. Spot is small and offers no inside dining option, but there's a cute patio area just outside for anyone looking to eat on site. read more

Pretty disappointed by this place. I got a regular size bowl with spicy tuna. This was a very small poke bowl with small pieces of tuna. It's actually not super small, but compared to other poke places in the area, over $13 for this amount with no add-ons was a bit of a rip off (I wish I got a picture!). I usually go to Pokebar less than a block away, but I decided to try this place, ordering the exact same thing. The small size at Pokebar is $1 cheaper and significantly bigger--not because they heap on rice but because they give you more fish/mix-ins. Like Pokebar, Pokeworks gives you imitation crab and seaweed salad for no additional charge, but the amount they give is unfortunately pretty negligible. Ordering online they give you the option to choose your sauce level. I chose medium and it came drenched with sauce and the rice was swimming in liquid at the bottom. I wish I could comment on the other flavors in the bowl; maybe their spicy tuna is great on it's own, I just have no way of knowing. I should have gotten light sauce, but if this was medium, I'm curious what heavy is like. On a more positive note: my pickup experience was great--super quick and the staff was friendly and attentive. 2 stars because I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and I appreciated the service, but it should really be a 1. I think with (seemingly) easy fixes this place could be great, and I'm hoping this was just an off day. To sum up: go to Pokebar instead, or anywhere else for that matter, there's some really good poke in the area. read more

Quick and healthy meals for those who like sushi. Pokeworks is a cool little restaurant, perfect for lunchtime, and pretty good for dinners and brunches. It follows the Chipotle style of dining in which the customer chooses their type of meal (burrito, rice bowl, or salad), their type of meat (tuna, salmon, chicken, etc), and their toppings. The fish is raw, sushi style, and the other meats are cooked and prepared in Japanese style seasonings. I sampled both the burrito and salads. The burrito is made out of seaweed instead of tortilla and white rice instead of Mexican style rice. Overall, it was novel, but I've tried sushi burritos before and this one was lackluster. It felt kind of dry and the large portion of rice in the burrito took away from the fish flavors. The salad, on the other hand, is what you'd expect: a mix of fresh leaves topped with meat and other good stuffs. It felt much more filling without having the flavors being hindered by the salad leaves. It's a tad too pricey for me to want to eat every week, but it's a nice treat every once in a while. read more

Tried today their chicken poke on half n half kale noodles and salad as base, with cucumber, mango, edamame, shiso, cilantro. Toppings, I chose my usual seaweed salad, surimi salad, pickled ginger, avocado. Garlic crisps, onion crisps, macadamia nuts, and wonton crisps for crispies. Tried their sweet and spicy gochujang for the sauce. It has a balance sweetness and spiciness. Overall, I never thought cooked chicken would be great for poke! read more

It's been really hot all day today and I was craving for some tasty Poke or Chirashi bowl. As it was getting kind of late, however, I decided to do a takeout Poke. Quickly looking up for a Poke place close to my apartment that was still open, I decided to try Pokéworks in Mountain View. This is my first time getting the food from this chain. As soon as I walk in at around 8:40, the waitperson at the counter offered to take my order right away, and I ordered a regular size bowl with quinoa base ($1 extra), salmon protein (2 scoops for regular bowl that was actually more like 3.5 scoops from any other Poke bars), crab salad (I normally shy away from these, but theirs was so fluffy and tasty), seaweed salad, and all the fresh garnishes. This HUGE regular size bowl full of good tasty ingredients came out to $11 with tax. i took the bowl home, fixed a bowl of miso soup, and literally had a feast! Unlike the poke from so many places that marinate the fish in salty spicy sauces (probably to disguise the stale fish), the salmon was really fresh and tasty with only the hint of ginger sauce (which I requested), and almost melted in my mouth. The quinoa base was cooked just right, and very substantial without being heavy. All the garnishes tasted so great with everything else. At first, I didn't think I could eat the whole bowl, but could NOT stop eating. So I slowed down to savor every bite, and finished the entire bowl. As I'm originally from Tokyo, Japan, where eating fresh fish is a culinary norm of enjoying the summer meals, I grew up eating fresh fish. I have had fair amount of Poke bowls here in the US (including Hawaii) too. So I can safely say that I've finally found my most favorite Poke place on this side of the Pacific Ocean, and am really happy that the place is only 7 minutes drive away from home. The only con about this place is that they don't have any seating area where people can enjoy their fresh Poke bowls, though that doesn't bother me much because I can just take the bowl home and enjoy it with some miso soup I make at home. read more

This is my go to spot for pokebowls. It's near by my work and home. I usually come and pick up a bowl on hot summer days. Usually not a big line as long as you don't frequent prime lunch time. Though they do seem busy with doordash orders, the cashier Scarlette was attentive and helpful to explain what some of the ingredients were to create my own bowl. Got a poke bowl with salad and ahi with some add ons (they didn't add my cucumbers). I was very disappointed by the portions I received (see photo). My bowl wasn't even half way full. A disappointing example of the recent poke bowl trend. Although there are a good selection of ingredients here (including some not so common ones like Hawaiian sea salt and lotus chips) overall quality is low. This is assuming of course that the ingredients you want are even in stock. Almost every time I have visited this place something is out of stock. Most importantly however, the quality of fish is not good here. The albacore tuna is not actual tuna it is escolar and that fish may even make you sick. It's a shame the ingredients aren't better here, the staff are nice and ordering is always easy. read more

I've eaten at a lot of poke places since the trend exploded in California. For me, it's all about what ingredients go into the bowl. Pokeworks is my preferred place because it offers the best variety of ingredients. Quinoa is my go-to base; it's hard to find a poke restaurant that even has it as a choice. A regular bowl with 2 fish (I usually go for tuna and salmon) definitely is filling. The range of free toppings is fantastic. I recommend the crab salad, seaweed salad, and masago. For crunchy, I like the toasted rice puffs, lotus chips, and wonton crisps. It's true that those last 2 seem to be out of stock often, so definitely hope they manage inventory on these more tightly. Sure, it's a small place. Clearly, don't plan to have a sit-down meal there. It's perfect for delivery and take-out! I've ordered many times through Door Dash, but even when I go in person, I appreciate how the iPad ordering expedites things. I appreciate that they also have a punch-card to reward frequent customers. If they use an automated system like Five Stars, even better. read more

Went to Pokeworks before a concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre with my friends. Parking was pretty crazy and hectic as this place was located in downtown Mountain View. I got a regular Poke bowl for 10.95$ which pretty much is a build your own bowl with two proteins, sauce, and many manyy sides/toppings. For protein, I choose Ahi Tuna and Salmon. I really liked the quality of the fish. Food looked fresh with generous servings. It was pretty tasty and I loved the many toppings you can add on! One of my favorite ones were the the crab salad, diced mango, wonton crisps, garlic crisps, onion crips., lotus chips LOL I got so many crunchy toppings.. but it adds in good texture and flavoring! They did run out of a few ingredients but I still managed to have a lot on my bowl. I ordered directly from the cashier but did not notice the cool in-store electronic tablets you can order with :( read more

Pokeworks seems to have some nice options and I've never had a problem with the actual taste of the food. I especially like that they have sesame oil on the side as it enhances the flavor in my opinion. Pokeworks tends to be understaffed, the ordering system is not the most efficient. I found it encouraging that the staff members I've met have been friendly and hard working. The business owner may want to figure out a solution for the lack of employees and lack of organization. The rewards app tends to have problems and the system has been off a few of the times I've visited. All in all, the food taste great! But given that they have a small store and lack of employees, you may expect an inconsistent level of service. read more

Pokeworks has that great option to customize and build your bowl as crazy as you'd like and get all of the things you love in it. Upon entering, you can order on the console touchscreen display that will present you options and the prices of all the options. FOOD: I honestly couldn't tell you every single thing I put into the bowl, but from the ahi was by the best and the sriracha aioli is very tasty in it. I ate here because of my love of poke. Disclaimer: I've had poke in Hawaii at Da Poke Shack and all opinions here on forward regarding any form of poke are highly biased. Nonetheless, I was excited to see what poke in Palo Alto is all about. Walking into the take-out store front, it seemed a bit messy with papers everywhere and a dirtY floor. I chalked this up to being a rainy day, who wants to clean when it's rainy out? I had the large bowl with 3 proteins, would highly recommend to get to sample as much as possible, but it was a lot of food. I couldn't finish it all, my shame was great. Overall, fish was good and I enjoyed my meal, just it wasn't mind blowing (see disclaimer). I wouldn't come back, but I also live over 2,000 miles away. Ordered take-out with my coworkers and I have to say I'm a new fan! The sauces here are super flavorful, my favorite is the spicy mayo aioli. I ordered via Yelp so unfortunately I didn't get the chance to order using their super fancy iPad situation in-store, boo. Anyways, I have to say a shout-out to the staff for really being ON IT. I placed an order on Yelp and unfortunately put the wrong pick-up time, in which case they called me and left me a message confirming, and also informing me that one of the protein choices was sold out. I promptly called back and they said that it would just take 15-20 minutes for them to have the order ready for me. Get this: it was literally the beginning of lunch rush, and they did this! AWESOMEEE. Okay okay, so the food was yummy! Everyone at my company enjoyed what they had ordered, and we did an assortment of different orders: sushi burrito, poke salads, poke bowls. I really enjoyed my creation: large poke salad with ahi tuna and salmon mix, edamame, spicy aioli, spicy furikakke, fresh jalapeno slices, and nori and seaweed salad. I think the price came out to be around $14. I think that's pretty much up the alley for poke pricing for a generous poke salad! Been here a few times already for work lunch. The fish is always fresh and the service is usually pretty fast. The price is reasonable for Mountain View, downtown. So these points earn 4 stars. Here's where I knock off a star...they do tend to run out of ingredients quite often. I've easily been here half a dozen times and they had lotus chips one time! Most other times, they've run out. What's worse for today is that they ran out of White and Brown rice as well. Luckily they still had this "Kale Noodle" which was pretty good. I just hope they stock more ingredients. But given the track record, that's going to be a hit or miss ask. read more
