What's cool about The Great Kanakas Atomic Tiki Bar, outside of their excellent name, is that they're indoors but the bar makes you feel like you're actually outside. I liked the concept. Relaxed with the vibes you would expect at a tiki bar. Service (4.5/5): We sat at the bar and our bartender was attentive and friendly. She even recommended an off-the-menu drink that other folks like which was a nice touch. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet so I'm not even sure if they have food. Drinks (4/5): When you're at a tiki bar, you're looking for a creative mix of flavors with a nice presentation. I went with a cocktail with such a cool name that I couldn't say no. You'll know it when you see the menu. It's a long name, sounds very Hawaiian, and you'll have difficulty pronouncing it. You'll get a kick out of it. While the drink were solid, I've seen more elaborate tiki drinks elsewhere. I'm talking the type where fire is evolved or fancy garnishes. Overall: Clear Lake surprisingly has quite a few cool bars. The queso features beef sausage and homemade chips. And the pig cubes are magic. Sticky and perfectly cooked. Mains too are well executed and plentiful. The steak eaters smiled big and those of us who opted for the triple bbq option were floored by the big ribs and the two additional meats that filled the plate. And than add 2 sides (bring an empty belly and plan on leftovers. Dessert is stunning as well. The cheesecake was light and fresh and the pecan cobbler an artistic delight.
