I had poke for the first time and it was AMAZING. Since it was my first time, I had so many questions and Jacky was happy to help me. She was so patient, kind, and gave good advice on my food options. She was just smiling and you could tell even with a mask on. In total, my friend and I took roughly 15 minutes to get our bowls together and she was so awesome through the entire process. I am gluten free and they had plenty of options for that. I was really upset that I found a bone in the salmon. I complained to the employee Alex and to my surprise he was very understanding about the situation and understood why I was upset. His answer was that "we try our best to remove all the salmon bones, but unfortunately some get pass us". Which I understood, he also offered a refund but I refused it. Came here with some friends for some poke. Service was good, people were friendly. I got the make your own bowl. They don't have crab meat but they do have imitation crab which worked for me with some salmon. No eel sauce either which I love but they had spicy chipotle which is still delicious! So I said "hello I placed a to go order". Of the two people standing there making bowls, neither of them looked up or replied to me. So I stood there while they continued making bowls. 10 minutes later I heard them mention a bowl with my name on. I told them it was my bowl, paid and left. No tip and no thank back to them. At first I thought it was a bit pricy, but you get a good amount for your money and you are able to add as many mix-ins and toppings as you want! This is a great idea but poorly executed, especially during rushes. The amount of workers leads to confusion and slow downs. The workers are stepping on each other and hearing orders from other customers and with everyone is in such close proximity it unavoidable. This leads to mistaken orders that if the customer does not catch is forced to discover after the fact, or the employee remakes a bowl at the very end while there is twenty other people waiting in line. At this point it is not even worth starting over. The progression of the add-ons leads to confusion and the rapid fire questions can be very intimidating for new customers who have stumbled into the fray, curious about rice bowls topped with uncooked meats. This is an idea best left to sit down establishments and not a fast food. read more

So I REALLY loved my food, but I have a complaint. I want to ask (and I hope someone can give me insight) but I went in, and ordered the Poke Burrito but the worker told me they had run out. I got a bowl instead, but as I'm sitting and eating, I see 4 people come in and order burritos, all of which could be made, even though I was told that they ran out. First of all, my wife is from Hawaii, so I have been eating poke long before it found its way to the mainland. Poke is ubiquitous in the islands; pick some up at the grocery store with a six-pack of beer and head to the beach. That being said, my first impression of Pokeworks was somewhat disappointing. However, I may temper that to say that it was not what I was expecting. Ahi poke is easy to get in Hawaii; the mainland, not so much, which makes it expensive. Poke is one of those things that is more expensive on the mainland than in Hawaii. You can't say that about many things. Authentic poke does not have anything in it except ahi, shoyu, and a few add ins. It is all about the fish. On the mainland restaurants try to fill up the bowl with rice, noodles, or lettuce. None of those things come in a poke bowl. I had the "Hawaiian Classic" which is pretty much authentic EXCEPT the sauce. The sauce was good, but it was not shoyu. They also added kale noodles to my bowl; again, poke doesn't have noodles or rice in it. I asked for the noodles on the side, but they ended up in my bowl anyway. Other than that it was fine, except the $13 price for a large bowl, which didn't fill me up. If I return to Pokeworks, I would get the Hawaiian Classic with either the umaml shoyu or gochujang sauce, or even a mixture of the two. That would be close to real Hawaiian poke, minus the beach. read more

I've came here more than 3 times to make sure I'm not being ridiculous, and every time it's been the same thing. The employees must not follow the directions on the rice cooker because it is always huge hard soggy clumps of rice in my bowl and i can't take more than a few bites without being disgusted and picking the proteins I paid for off and throwing it away after. read more
