I had a really delicious poke bowl here for lunch. This location is off of Cottle across from Marshall's. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted. I noticed they had indoor seating, which was really nice. The other location I go to does not have this. I decided to order the half lettuce and half rice with 2 scoops of spicy tuna and 1 scoop of shrimp. They were very generous with their portions and I liked how all the toppings were displayed so nice and fresh. The toppings station was very neat and clean. I also love that they don't charge extra for avocado or masago. My bowl was very hefty and filling. It was so good!! I am definitely coming back to this location. read more

I unironically have been and still am a Poki Bowl fan, despite this rating, which is only for this location. Bowls are a lot pricier nowadays as with most poke places because of inflation, but avocado is included at least. A regular bowl comes out to almost $20 after tax. Sauces are added in levels of spice so you don't have to think twice about what sauce combo to choose. The service is subpar for the Cottle location. I've come when it's empty or when there's a couple people ahead of me, but it seems like my bowl was rushed to get made and thus, I'm not getting the full portion. It's probably worse for DoorDash orders since you can't watch your bowl being made. Go to the Almaden location if you can. REGULAR POKI BOWL: 4/5 (~$19) + My order: 1/2 sushi rice 1/2 mixed greens, 3 scoops salmon, spicy, topped with furikake and spicy mayo + Just as good as when they were the rage in 2016 in my opinion! + Solid and consistent fish quality. This is my cousin's favorite poke bowl place, so I decided to try this place out with her. There weren't too many people when we came around 6:30pm on a Sunday. Poki Bowl is quite pricy, with a regular bowl being $18.25 and then there's tax + tip, but maybe that's because this is the bay area lol. For light eaters like me, a regular bowl is still a lot of food, so I'm glad they do give a lot of food. I don't eat regular poke bowls much anymore ever since I discovered Hawaiian poke, but I think this place is pretty good for what it is. The tuna is okay though, I wish I got more of the salmon, which was pretty tasty. Service is ok, we had to wait a bit for the server to come back to take our orders. Poki Bowl is located in a nice area and I liked how open and big the interior was. I'll come back next time I'm in the bay/if there's no Hawaiian poke around. read more

Fish options are as you'd normally see nowadays at other Poke spots (salmon, tuna, octopus, spicy tuna) but this spot has free avocado which is pretty nice. They don't have many sauce options to choose from and it was more of just spicy or not spicy, which I found kind of disappointing. This place should really get no stars as the service and food are terrible at this facility. It takes a really disappointing experience like this to be awarded with such a negative review. The only reason we chose this place was because we wanted to use a gift card. We ordered our food, tried to pay with a legitimate poki bowl gift card, but Kevin and the other server could not figure out how to use the gift card. So Kevin called his manager but apparently he is vacationing in Mexico and could not be disturbed. He called other owners and they were unhelpful too. After waiting patiently for over 30 minutes, Kevin didn't have the authority to do anything and didn't do anything for us. He hid in the back of the restaurant and was meek. As such, we left our order in disgust and disappointment. His manager, Johnathan Nguyen didn't help in any way either. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. There are much better poki bowl places with better fish, more choices for toppings, lower prices and of course, way better service. read more

So I came back because besides all my other complaints about this place I actually really like the taste of their sauce. Then, when I was almost done with my bowl, I found a piece of hair. It made me feel gross because with all the toppings I get small pieces of hair can be hard to spot and I wondered if I had eaten any others. After working in the restaurant industry I understand every once in a while a hair happens and it's uncontrollable to ensure a 0% chance of hair in food. However, I looked at Yelp reviews and then saw multiple comments about hair in food. If this is a reoccurring problem happening frequently you would think the owners would take it more seriously and require hair nets in food preparation areas... or at least take some other measures to ensure quality. The poke here is not that great. I kind of knew this already going in but I was in the area so I figured I give this place another try. I got a medium bowl with spicy tuna, salmon, and shrimp but the amount of food you get for $15 is so little compared to other poke shops. There's also not much selection and my bowl lacked flavor. Although the staff were friendly, my bowl had a long piece of unchopped onion (how did they not see this?) and pieces of imitation crab that weren't fully mixed. It was pretty sloppy to be honest. Of all the chain, I find Poki Bowl to be the most authentic flavors compared to what I have had in Hawaii. They always have the freshest fish as well. Poke bowl has always been one of my favorite places to go for lunch. The sunnyvale location is amazing. Don't get me wrong the quality of food is decent here, but the customer service is not that great. They pile all your food in to the bowl like they are feeding an animal (like just throw it in there). The speed is great but it doesn't allow for the team members to give good customer service. They seem like they are rushing to get you out. The pricing is reasonable. My favorite is the salmon and crab salad. At this place, extra spicy = extra chili oil = extra extra GREASY poke bowl!!! My rice was swimming in grease! The toppings are super limited compared to other poke spots. I wanted to give Poki Bowel a few more chances before I wrote this review..... Soooo here we go.....Doordashed poke from here and for the FOURTH time my food has been consistently NASTY! Why?? First of all, rice was super hard...I've been to all the other Poki Bowel locations on Curtner & Almaden and never had an issue with the sushi rice. Perhaps more water in the commercial rice cooker??? To management that's reading this review....how hard is it to cook rice? Please use the Asian index finger as reference for perfect rice...the last couple of poke bowls I've ordered fish has been really off...every time I chew on the salmon or yellowtail I get a hard rubbery chewy piece of fish, and when I spit out and look at the napkin it looks like a piece of waxy paper, but I know it's from the fish.... I have only been to poki bowl once, and it was at the original one. Since then, I've been going to other poki joints like poki bar, poke house, icy poke and other randoms. I was coming from a hair appt and just wanted something quick and "asian". Ended up here. The bowls looked very sad after completion. The pieces of salmon were soooo big that it was not enjoyable. Like they say, too much of one thing is not a good thing. I had forgotten their sauce choices and was sadden that I was only able to pick my spice level. I've been too spoiled in the realm of poki! I love ponzu, uni sauce, and spicy mango! The prices for bowls are steep for the amount of toppings that actually go onto your bowl.
