The poke craze has hit the bay area, and I mean the real one....not this ridiculous fantasy world one that ends in "Go". The price is pretty decent compared to other poke bowl and probably same portions. But, keep in mind their scoops are quite small. With regular you get 3 scoops of a protein or for $2 more you get large with one extra scoop. But the large does not have a larger scoop. Only difference is one more scoop. At $10 for a regular the price is comparable but not always filling. Plenty of additional toppings you can add but avocado and crab salad are $1 extra. He misheard me and gave me brown rice but that was fine. The Brown rice was actually pretty good and I don't eat brown rice. The service is with a nice smile too. Can be a little cramped at this place though. This place is out of the way for me but if in area would come back. read more

I have been here twice and I can't wait for my next visit! This place is absolutely delicious! Every time I have a poke craving, this is my spot to satisfy it. I usually order a regular bowl (half brown rice and half mixed greens) with a scoop of spicy tuna, ahi tuna, and salmon tossed with the Poki Poke Special sauce and Spicy Soy. That alone was so fresh and delicious! For the toppings I get edamame, mango, serrano peppers, tobiko, wonton crispies, ginger, and furikake (basically everything, but the corn just in case I missed anything). Then I top the whole thing with spicy mayo. Just to die for! Both times I came in I was greeted by the nicest employees and got the best service. Been here about 3 times. They always give so much per poke bowl! I like how the workers there understand English so I'm always able to order smoothly. The tree on the wall is super pretty. I wish they didn't charge extra for the crab salad but I'm happy they give two scoops of it if I say yes to the extra $1. So my daughter went here and told me that I would really like this place and she was right! I walked in and the place was spotless. Very friendly greeting and attention all the way through. They let me sample as many sauces when I was not sure what to get. They are still at the "soft opening phase" but Thursday is the grand opening. I loved my regukar size poke bowl and was really full and had to leave some rice behind. Im so sad lol. But it was great and on this hot day I loved they had ice cold water to self serve as I needed. Went here for lunch 3 and it wasn't very crowded. Upon entering, the place was spacious and looked clean. They have 2 sizes, large (4 scoops) and regular (3 scoops), and both are pretty packed with food. I got the large with salmon, hamachi, and ahi tuna. The guy who scooped my fish gave me huge scoops, so I was pretty pleased with that. For sauces, I tried the poki poke special, which had a good flavor and did not overpower the taste of the fish.They have a lot of options for toppings, although I wasn't too excited to pay 1$ for the crab, but I was given 2 scoops of crab; my girlfriend got 2 scoops as well so it wasn't an accident. Overall, the price was really good considering the huge bowl I got. The fish tasted fresh and the sauce complemented it nicely. I will definitely go here again. read more

I'm not a fan of poke bowls. The rice is drenched in sauces which made it soggy and way too salty. I might ask them to eliminate the sauce next time if I feel like going back. I do agree with other reviewers about the smell of this place! However, the fish was fresh. $10 for a bowl was reasonable if you consider the amount of fish they give you. read more

Sushi rice is a must have for my bowls and their sushi rice is probably just white rice, tastes like nothing. They do sell premade spam musubis by the register which is cool. I'm not much of a Poke expert at all - in fact this was my first time having it. I wasn't all that impressed by my poke bowl :-( the rice was hard and overall, the bowl wasn't very flavorful. I like wonton chips so adding it was a good move. It definitely was a bad start for me and Poke bowls so I haven't tried any other places... But I think I'll stay on the look out more in SF and South Bay poke spots instead :-p read more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Poki Poke is hands down my favorite spot to get poke. It may not be the fanciest place or the biggest but let me tell you the quality is always on point. The workers are really friendly and if you're lucky you'll get someone who is very generous and I mean generous to the point where they have trouble putting the lid on. The main reason why I wanted to make this review is for one reason....their sauces. The Poki Poke special is perfect mix of salty and spicy. I usually mix ponzu for a little added citrus but it's all about the cilantro sauce!!!!!!!!!!! I could write a whole paragraph about this damn sauce but I'll let you see for yourself. Not good. Dirty place. I had to ask the counter server to change his glove since he served the client before me, onions which I don't like and mixed with spicy sauce and I do not eat anything spicy. The avocado was completely brown and the mango looked old slimy. The girl at the register count money with coins and right after went to serve rice to another customer without gloves or even washing hands. The 3 people serving were disorganized going from one bowl to another mixing the orders of all customers. Nobody bother to clean or wipe the droppings on the counter. Don't come here. read more

My husband brought me lunch today (08/03/16) from Poki Poke. Right off the bat I could see that they have different options than Sunfish Poke. I love that they have fried wonton chips and Edamame. I also loved their sauce (Sweet Sesame and Cilantro Mayo) and the options of adding fresh greens to my poke bowl. The bowl my husband put together for me was awesome! I should have him bring me lunch more often. LOL. The cost is the same as Sunfish, about $10.50 a bowl, but Poki Poke charges for their imitation crabmeat and avocado which currently Sunfish does not charge for (yet). Holy generous portions! Poki poke does not skimp on their bowls at all which was a pleasant surprise. Swung by late on a Wednesday night around 8PM and the shop was almost empty. I ordered myself a large half-greens, half-rice bowl (4 scoops of fish vs 3 in the regular) expecting modest sized scoops of fish. Instead, I got heaping scoops of salmon and tuna. They're also extremely generous with their toppings. I paid $1 extra for crab and expected a small scoop but instead received 2 heaping scoops of crab. On top of that, I threw in some green onions, corn, seaweed salad, furikake, fried onions and masago and mixed some spicy mayo and spicy soy for my sauces. The result? A massive poke bowl fit for a king. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The spicy mayo was a nice touch that I don't recall seeing at many other places. While none of the flavors are that different from other poke joints, the generous portions at Poki Poke definitely make the bowl much more worth it here as my total came out to be about $14 for a pretty enormous bowl compared to other places.
