I have been a life long customer of pollo regio and my family always liked them for their good food but it has gotten way too overpriced and for smaller quantities. I asked for two WHOLE chickens. I received one whole chicken for $70. Two whole chickens means two wings, two drumsticks, two chicken breasts, and two chicken thighs in EACH order. I received two boxes with 4 pieces... one breast, one drumstick, one thigh, and one wing... It's unfortunate because i expected two whole chickens a this is a rip off... I paid $70 for ONE chicken... I ordered a bunch of food for delivery on a quiet Thursday afternoon. My wife wanted to try this place, since our go to chicken delivery place had closed after 5 years of great food and service. I am listing in detail what we ordered for delivery, as I don't know how someone, either the order preparer or delivery person, or both, could not review the order and see how many things were MISSING! And yet, I was charged for the full order. I could not even call Favor as the order was through the restaurant, but they used Favor. I finally submitted a complainT online and someone called me and apologized continually. They wanted to reimburse me for just the items missing, but as you can see there was more than just that. I would expect a place like this to comp the entire order, but had to convince them to give me $40 credit, and even then I had to get the credit in their app. So, I guess I have to go back to this place. I will order next time dine in at the counter, and see if they can recover from this. read more

This review is for their chicken tacos specifically. I'd ordered from here a few times and then a year ago I had an order where I was biting into cartilage/gristle in nearly every bite of five tacos. Really turned me off. Decided to give them another chance the other day, and a year later I experienced the same. exact. problem. It's gross and ruins the entire experience to constantly have to spit cartilage out of my mouth. To have this same problem one whole year later tells me it's not a coincidence. I got the potato with beef. It was terrible. Nest wasn't fresh tasting, the potatoes were all chipped up the meat was diced finely, they were both swimming in fake butter and two types of fake cheese. I was sure it was not my order. The green salsa was disgusting and not at all what I was looking forward to. I admit I was never a roasted chicken fan. My idea for buying a rotisserie chicken is so that I can make soup. So the best roasted chicken I ever had was at Wolfgang Pucks. WAS being the key. Until now! Hands down, one of the best chicken dishes ever. Maybe the very best. MONSTER portion. I think you could feed a family 3-4 quite easily. Granted, the half onion was a first, but I just through chunks of the onion in with the chicken on a solid tortilla shell. I didn't count, but there might have been 8 shells? The menudo. Salty fatty deliciousness. If they had these on the east coast, I'd be a regular for sure. Here's the only warning for the food prudes. This location is somewhat sketchy. Not unsafe or dangerous. I prefer pollo regio over rico. The chicken just has a better char and to me a tad more juicier. 1/2 a chicken is great for two persons especially if your partner prefers one type of meat over the other. Also they cut up the chicken for you so it saves a step when you get your meal home. The 1/2 chicken come with a grill onion, 5 tortillas, red and green salsa, charro beans, and rice. The corn tortillas are the typical mass produced ones so I normally swap them for flour which to me is more suited for grilled meats. The green salsa is my favorite with a mild enough kick. I finish off my meal by mixing the rice and beans; the beans are flavorful with bits of pork hock and bean liqueur. They also have carne asada by the pound if you want something different. I normally get this delivered as well so they up charge a few dollars for that. There are more local places that do chicken cheaper and some are just outrageous; this is a good place in the middle. As the cheaper places will run out of chicken. read more
