Ordered food online via the app. Arrived at the time it said the food would be ready for pickup. The app indicated the food was ready. Went to pickup the food and doors were locked. Parked in the curbside pickup and called the number. Was told to get in the drive thru to pick up the food. It would have been quicker to just have done the drive thru and not used the app. Waited 15 minutes in drive thru and the cashier tells me the order is not ready yet and to wait another 3 minutes. The app was a waste of time and is the second negative experience in two weeks. I changed it from one star to two stars as the food was hot and good. read more

Pollo Tropical - Fast Food Near Me - Oviedo, Florida

I've eaten at Pollo Tropical since it was called "TropiGrill", many years back. Always one of my favorites - until recently. I have just one location near me, this one in Oviedo. It's never been awesome, but was at least good, a solid B or B+. But the past few months, ouch! The service has gone downhill, I've been given incomplete orders, and the food isn't nearly as good as it used to be. Poor service and lackluster food - I'm done with Pollo Tropical. It's not worth my effort. Just today I went through the drive thru, and they forgot my TWO side items. If they're not willing to put forth the effort to serve up decent tasting food and get my order right, then I will stop putting forth effort giving them additional chances. I gave them enough strikes, now they've stuck out and the game is over. I'll miss you Pollo Tropical, it was wonderful while it lasted. ;-( read more

We were looking for something different on a Sunday evening. We stopped by Pollo Tropical in Oviedo for take-out. Our order was placed and our meal was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. The entire time of our wait I observed the staff cleaning the open dining area and conversing with the customers. The aromas were "wonderful", I couldn't wait until we brought our meal home! Ten minutes to home, our meal was still very warm, delicious and well worth the wait. How can this place be considered "fast food"? The quality is amazing! I'm an avid fan and customer from Pollo Tropical, hardly order take out or drive thru, since I like my meal hot. This time I went to the restaurant to order 2 Chicken Soups, I asked for the size, The employee asked the other cashier, I guess she was new. I order two big bowls of soup, when I was called for my order the manager gave me the bag with the soups, and it was the wrong bowl from what I was told. A customer oriented apology is the proper response when an employee makes a mistake. But instead she said, they are wrong, this is it. And dismissed me. I was impressed, nor she was taking care of the new employees but she wasn't taking care of the customers. I asked the Manager to better train her new staff, she just nodded and walked back. I don't know I ordered here again. They never get the order correct. Once again we ordered, the food came but was missing some items. I called, but Pollo Tropical said the problem was with the delivery company and I had to talk to them. 1 hour later, after being bounced around to 6 different people to "resolve my issue", nothing was resolved. I love this location and I love this food. Always very clean and the severs are polite and helpful. It gets very busy during lunch hours so be mindful of that for sure and at nighttime they start cleaning up early. Also the front closes at 10 but the drive through is open until 11 (but they should still have most of the food you want) so be aware of that as well. read more

This locations workers absolutely suck. They get the orders wrong consistently and have the crappiest attitudes. It's 9:45pm and they they're closed yet they advertise closing at 10p. Oh my! Pollo Tropical what happened?!? I went there on Sunday 7/28. They got rid of the servers and the silverware. I do not hold this particular PT responsible if this is a company thing but since this is the only one I go to I do not know. I tried 2 cilantro garlic chicken sliders, literally they were the size of a mcnugget on a byte sized roll. The taste was fine but for 8 bucks I would like more than 2 nuggets. I also ordered a classic grilled chicken sandwich. It had a nice tomato on it but since I cannot eat them it did me no good. The reason I brought that up is because the lettuce was one sad little piece of romaine. Not even a whole piece, about a half of one that was already a bit wilted at the top. The chicken was undercooked a bit and I realized that later in the bathroom. The cashier taking our order was either having a bad day or may be on the spectrum. If he was having a bad day I get it we all do but do try to calm down, on the other hand if he is on the spectrum (my youngest son is) then I applaud PT for giving him a chance! Either way this had no effect on our visit he was not a bad guy at all. It really came down to what they took away and how small the servings are. Every once in a blue moon, I'll stop by Tropical to pick up their grilled chicken to take home for dinner. This location in particular is probably the nicest I've been to in Central Fl. It's always clean the times I've gone, and the outdoor patio setup is really cozy, and just completely different in the sense that it's decorated with lots of plants and furnishings that mimic the islands. I've seen a lot of people come here on Fridays just to hang out in the patio area. Yes, they serve beer/wine. read more

Pollo Tropical was one of my favorite discoveries on a recent trip to Orlando. I'd really missed El Pollo Loco from my California days, and PT hearkened back to that somewhat. I got a large Tropi-chop bowl of brown rice, lettuce, corn, red beans, chopped tomatoes, grilled onions, and grilled peppers topped with a generous amount of well-seasoned grilled chicken breast for around $6, and savored every bite. I only gave one star because zero stars was not an option. Went inside to eat and waited 20+ minutes to receive part of our order. When we asked about the missing part of the order (including getting our drinks) the worker got very rude and said "I told you we are still working on it" and then refused to help us further - instead called someone from the kitchen staff to come out and get our drinks while we waited for the rest of the good. Inside tables we filthy so we went outside and found those tables the same. Shortage of help was not to blame as there were more than 8 employees working and only 5-6 customers. I love Pollo Tropical. This location is very clean, friendly, and serves delicious food. I always get the chicken breast with yellow rice and beans on the side. Then I get a side of Yuca Fries and smother them in curry mustard sauce. I freaking love their curry mustard sauce. So good. If you haven't been before, they have you sit down and bring your food like a normal restaurant (unless you're getting "to-go"). You get real silverware and plates and someone who wants to make sure everything came out right. You also don't have to tip! They have signs around asking you not leave any tips. The food is very good and comes out quick. If I'm not to hungry I'll get the quarter chicken meal its inexpensive but last time I got it it wasn't enough. You can get that meal and a side, I usually go for the fried yuca, and am satisfied. The best thing for me is the chicken with some of the salsa. Hands down the best Pollo Tropical in the area. Fast friendly service, plenty of parking, and delicious food. My favorite place for lunch. If you like burrito bowls I highly recommend the Chicken Tropichop with white beans, black rice, and everything on it. I have never had a bad one. This location is different from other locations in that when you complete your order they give you a number and bring your food out to you when it is ready. This allows you to fill your drink, select your toppings, and settle into your seat without worrying about listening for your name. They also use actual plates and silverware from time to time just to switch things up a bit I guess. If I had ding them on something it would be that they got my order wrong a couple times charging me for and then bringing me a small Tropichop when I requested a regular. When I mentioned it they immediately got me a regular and refused to let me pay the difference. So not much of a ding really. read more

Pretty tasty place for last minute dinner plans. The chicken is sometimes a bit burnt though but it is a good alternative for when you want to jut get home and rest and you ache for something that is not overly greasy. I usually get the rice and beans with my family meals and they are cooked well. The sweet plantains also come out well. My only real complaint is that the drive thru is occasionally a pain with long waiting times and wrong orders. The chicken breast is sometimes dry so I typically order all dark and sometimes I get home and they give me both dark and white. Dog and cat get super happy that they get tasty chicken though and do not mind the dryness. Also, I've had them give me yellow rice instead of white which I wasn't a fan of. So don't be like me and live disappointed, take the time and check ALL of your meal. TL;DR? Good non-greasy food. Chicken is good but white meat is sometimes dry and I recommend the white rice and black beans as sides. Came for dinner at 7:40 pm on a Saturday night. The cashier who took our order was totally lackluster. No smile or greeting, no welcome...just..."what do you want?" When my wife ordered the boneless chicken, she responded that they were out of boneless chicken. No apology or anything. What kind of restaurant with "Pollo" in the name, runs out of boneless chicken??? My wife ordered the shredded pork and I ordered the tropichop. Neither one of our dinners had any semblance of seasoning. The inside of the restaurant was filthy so we chose to eat outdoors. All the tables we sat at outdoors were also dirty and sticky. This place has good food and it's fairly inexpensive. The chicken fajitas are really good despite it being a "fast food" type of enviorment. HOWEVER, they never fail to screw up my drive through orders. Whenever I go it's typically on my way home from work and dinner for the whole family...they usually miss a side item or the side dishes for the fajitas..or give me pork instead of chicken..sometimes they are out of chicken and assume pork is okay instead...it's annoying but the foods good enough i just make them double check the order before giving it to me, then check it myself. My wife and I regularly easy at this location. They have great table service and everybody is very friendly. The Oviedo location is really the cleanest of any in central Florida. It's also unique in that, if you dine in, you're served on non disposable plates and given actual flatware, rather than plastic. The food is very good, given that it is fast food; and I believe you have more healthy options at a lower price than traditional fast food joints like the burger places. It's hard to go wrong with a place where fresh vegetables or a salad is a regular side dish. read more
