Took advantage of a 20 percent off coupon I got in a mailer...and my 87 year old mom wanted to try their corned beef sandwich. Omg the rye bread is made on the premises...so tasty, soft, fresh...better than Langers, the rye bread is thinner and the crust is crunchier...Pollys Pies makes it with a softer crust. 5 of 5...totally wasn't expecting that. The sandwich was thick and well-builtbwith corned beef and sourkraut and a slice of Swiss cheese, melting but not melted. I was fine with that. The lunch came on a metal tray, but because I was sharing, our lovely server brought us a platter without me having to ask. You can get your choice of Cole slaw or sweet potato and other possibilities like oni9n rings, but we went with basic fries. I loved that the fries were not presalted, or they were lightly salted, but mom needed to sprinkle more on and she found some black bits made from bad potatoes. 3 of 5. We both loved the lemonade, very refreshing 5 of 5. And while we were disappointed there wasn't any pumpkin pecan cheesecake or key lime pie or pecan pie, we were told they were only special holiday items, we decided on cherry pie a la mode. The pie was hot, but the huge helping if ice cream managed to hold together and not be soup despite the hot cherry pie slice. Overall both mom and I wete impressed with the lunch...and also the clientele were very nice....one told us about the free entree and free pie slice if it's your birthday, so immediately I hit the website on my phone and signed up for their rewards program ...then another neighboring patron helped us with the Wednesday Bingo. Whaassst? They have bingo??!! Every Wednesday. You don't pay for the fun...it's free to play. You can win a to go container of cookies made fresh on the premises....snickerdoodle, chocolate chip etc ...the games are from 4 to 6 pm. And it's hilarious...you bingo in shapes like a 7 or railroad tracks. .this kind of bingo game play was foreign to me. But the host (i think his name was Leo) he came around to every table passing out colored dabber pens and bingo cards...and he showed the pattern on his mobile phone...the host was lively and had all the game equipment to call a legit bingo game. Big-time fun. My mom was delighted, and would have stayed but I had another appointment so we cut out after three games. Not going to lie, this is not a hip location. Its a great place for some comfort diner food and just good desserts. Some reviews said that its more of a senior restaurant, but the prices are decent. I had their half sandwich and soup and it was just right. And I had their hot coco. Service could have been a little faster when it comes to having the drinks refilled, but our server was nice. We love coming for bingo! It's such a fun family event to go to my favorite thing to get is their tuna sandwich. I like getting it toasted on sourdough bread. One of my favorite sides to get is the fruit. They use the fruit that they have for their fruit pies so it's usually super sweet and sliced when they serve it to you. We also tried their chicken fried steak. It was also pretty good size. We love your mashed potatoes and gravy. The meatloaf sandwich is also pretty tasty. It's moist and comes with grilled onions. Food was the worst I've ever had there and I've been going for decades. They typically have the best tasting food, the chef was not at his best game this past Sunday, 6/28/2026. The home potatoes were dried out and tasteless, bacon was served burnt to a crisp and I did not request crispy bacon. The pancakes were a bit undercooked in the middle. The Sunnyside eggs were delicious, as normally are. Brownies were amazing. Coffee was great. Service was excellent as usual. The same couple of waitresses who have been there for years were there giving their best customer service. This is not typical so I won't rule this place out just yet. We all have an off day. I did tip because it wasn't the waitresses' fault that the food was substandard. Horrible service right when you walk into the door. The place was empty and we were told to wait for a table. We waited ten minutes before we got seated. We asked for a table for seven but got a table for six, so since the place was empty, we took it upon ourselves to take another booth. The table wasn't set with silverware and had to ask for it. Menus were given to us after waiting at the table for another 10 minutes. After our order was taken, the drinks didn't come out for another 15 minutes. Our food arrived shortly after. I ordered the prime rib french dip which sounded delicious, but it was far from delicious. Meat was definitely not prime and was super dry and hard. The bread was not that good either. I was here on March 14 to celebrate pi day! They have a parking lot with plenty of spots. The servers were friendly. You have to take your check and pay at the register. The lemon meringue was ok. Ive never tried Polly's before, but came here with some friends after an early morning run. I got the have it all skillet. It was decent, but wish the portion size was a little bigger. It came with your choice of toast and I got two slices of sourdough. It was really good with the jam and butter they give you. It was around 9 am, but my coworker wasn't really feeling breakfast, so they also let you order from the lunch menu. Food was pretty good overall. I do wish the portion size was a bit bigger. The lady who was serving us was very friendly and she came by to refill our coffee, even though it looked like they were quite busy and short handed. The total for three coffees, two skillet dishes, one sandwich order, and one omelet plate was around $100 after tip and taxes, so it is kind of expensive. I don't think I will go out of my way to come back, but the pies do look pretty good and I might stop by to get a pie. Probably won't come back for food unless my friends want to eat here. read more

There is a good sized private, but shared lot with plenty of parking. We found this place when looking for crepes for breakfast, but did not get those. We actually really liked their food so we ended up coming back for dinner twice as well as breakfast. On our three visits, we got the cinnamon roll French toast, chicken pot pie, Salisbury steak, meatloaf, shrimp pasta, house and Caesar salads, corn bread, apple pie, concoct cream pie, chocolate cream pie, apple crisp pie, and snickerdoodle cookie. While the quality varied among the different foods we tried, all of them were at least ok and some were very good. The corn bread is like cake and was the best item, but is really filling. On every visit we took food home. The shrimp pasta was the worst of the entrees, but was just ok, but we would not get it again. All the other entrees we would get again. The cinnamon roll French toast was not that good and is better at Broken Yolk cafe. However, PP gives you a larger portion than BY. Both types of salad were very good. The snickerdoodle cookie is more like a sugar cookie, but tasted ok. The service was good on all visits. They have a deal from 4-6 where you can get a salad, entree, and piece of pie for $15. We got that twice. Be sure to ask for the special menu for that deal and the pie menu. They have other deals like prime rib also. They sell their bakery items up front at the register. The corn bread is available in a pie tin. We definitely plan to come back here again. The patty was maybe a quarter the size of the bun -- more like a lettuce-and-tomato sandwich with a cameo appearance by a piece of beef. Oh, and it was super well done (my kind way of saying overcooked). I went with the Perfect Pancake Breakfast, and to be fair, the pancakes were the only thing that lived up to their name. The rest of the plate? Not so much. The sausage links were little fat stumps that left me with nothing but heartburn and regret. The coffee was okay, but I had to send up a small prayer for a refill -- which finally came when the check did. Service was minimal, and the wait time was longer than it should have been, but it was what it was. George the manager came by and was very nice and asked how I was doing. They were decently busy and seemed like everyone was being taken care of right away. I ordered the ABC omelet with a side of hash browns and sourdough bread with jam. Unfortunately, the omelet was rubbery, which really took away from the dish. The hash browns were okay overall, but some pieces were a bit too burnt around the edges. The highlight of the meal was definitely the sourdough bread with jam--it was delicious. However, I did ask for it without butter and it still came with butter, which was a little disappointing. This is my first year that I have ordered in advance for pies for Thanksgiving at Polly's pies. It was easy to order online and I ordered pumpkin pie and pecan pie. Last minute I needed to change from pumpkin pie to apple pie and they were able to accurate at the day of pickup at the door. I also didnt realize I needed to print out the actual pickup receipt but they had a person there that gave you a physical paper for your order to smooth out the pick up process. So in the future, make sure to always print out your order in advance for faster pickup for them. I have taken my mom and kids to Polly's for years because it used to be local restaurant with good food and good service. Over the last couple of years it seems that all the good started to decline with the menu revamp. Still some friendly servers but the issue I have is that on several occasions over time we've gone and they run out of menu items. Basic menu items. So we go in all hungry and have to try to choose alternatives on the menu. The last time we went was earlier this week. As soon as the young hostess seated us I asked her very nicely if there was anything on the menu that would not be available. Now I've never done this before anywhere but why did I? Because it's happened before that they come back to say they have run out of what we want and we have to spend more time trying to order. I figured, get it out of the way and know at the start what options are eliminated. That's not good to have that precognition about a place. So she was nice enough to go check with the kitchen. She returned to confirm "we have everything." Ok perfect. To start beverages, I ordered a Diet Coke and My mom a regular Coke. The waitress then returns to say they ran out of COKE! On a Monday night ... ran out of coke? Where does that happen? How does that happen? Wasn't following a holiday weekend rush. Where's the planning for supplies? Ok so my mom ordered a decaf coffee and non dairy creamer instead... waitress comes back again to say they don't have non dairy creamer.... What?? Ok striking out. Ok then please bring the coffee and a regular Sprite. So we place the food order. I ordered a Salisbury Steak. She comes back YET AGAIN, to apologize and say they are out of the meat they use for it.... Again?? Wow! Ok so what now? She said they could sub a regular hamburger patty for the specific steak they use and she would recommend it because it's good or better. Ok fine. It's ground beef patty too so let's do that. She brought the food. The recommended hamburger patty was slightly burnt and SMALL! looked to be about half to 3/4 the size of a regular diner size hamburger patty. As a matter of fact, the patty looked almost like it had been cut on an edge prior to cooking. Wasn't even a complete circular patty shape. Omg... I ate it, the sauce was still good but the sprite was weak. It just seems to me that for a full service restaurant to not plan well enough for basic menu items that would be served anywhere and then to not know if they are out of items when directly asked... it's disappointing and unprofessional. This was Monday night. Idk when they order or purchase their food supplies but these are things to have tracked and reordered when you're down to your last cases based on regular usage. I'm sure they know this but they have been dropping the ball on it. Basic menu items and making sure that if you have to make up for a menu item, make sure the substitute item is comparable in size and quality or even better as a sign of good faith and appreciation for a person's patronage. No we did not complain or comment any further because we figured it would be pointless at the time and I didn't want to make my mom uncomfortable but I was disappointed for her and for me. Just want to clarify that front of house staff was very nice and I know they aren't ordering. So whoever does the ordering and kitchen staff needs to revisit ordering procedures. The service was good, the bathrooms were below par on cleanliness but to be fair it was super busy. We had a 15 min wait with seating. Once sat at our table the benches were comfortable and had adjustable sun shades. Maybe we missed their specialty being pies?
