The check-in personnel at the front are very rude, judgmental, discrimnatory, and condescending. They can care less about customer service. The quality/taste of the food kept getting worse. The ambiance is ok with the outside seating, but for inside seating there are flies and you can tell the place has just gotten old with carpet stains. We went to celebrate my daughter's wedding anniversary for dinner on a Sunday afternoon. We sat on the patio and even though it was extremely hot in Los Angeles, the patio was shaded and felt refreshing. The place is absolutely gorgeous, so many spots to take pixs for posting. Indoor seating is also beautiful with live piano. The service is immaculate. It seemed like a whole team was assigned to our table of six and they kept providing us with drinks, appetizers, main entrees and dessert in a timely manner without rushing us either. It was a wonderful experience and was beyond our expectations. We ordered: Bread Basket, Caesar Salad, Mccarthy Salad, Crab Cake, Filet Mignon, rigatoni, a bunch of sides, and the Chocolate Souffle. The jazz brunch (which starts at 11 a.m., only on Sundays) is legendary and it is, truly, wonderful. You order from a set menu with lots of choices: you get one cocktail, an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. It's a lot of food. The set price is $85 per person before tax and tip so you're talking at least $200 for two people. Is it worth it? I say, absolutely. Nearly everything we tried was wonderful and the service could not have been better. You may not be a celebrity but the servers treat you so well and are so professional, they make you feel like a VIP. We ordered a few dishes, the chicken had no taste to it, the beef tartare which is prepared table side (nice touch) was gross. Salad leaves were all wilted. We had a bottle of champagne, servers passed by a dozen times saw empty glasses and never refilled. Espresso is served in large coffee cups, champagne in large wine glasses. With the prices they charge, you would think they can afford to have proper glasses for each beverage. You go to a nice place for good food and service, and this was not that experience. I got the club sandwich which was huge and the meat was definitely carved into perfection. I took it home for it was a large portion. I opted in fo fruit on the side, which was a very small sliced portion however, I could tell was very fresh. My boyfriend got the steak tartar but he returned it because he wasn't aware of the meat being uncooked. I never knew this restaurant existed until my best friend told me about it when we went for her birthday this past November. They have such a cute outdoor seating area with lots of shade and heaters if need be. Their breakfast menu is a fixed price so you have to order a drink, an appetizer, a main entree, and a dessert. I ordered one of their apple cinnamon cocktails and it was ok. I ordered their artichoke appetizer. I loved the sauce, but did not eat much of the actual artichoke so I would not recommend that particular appetizer. For the entree, I had their wagyu burger and that was delicious! Their was bacon in it and that made it 10x better. Would highly recommend choosing that specific food item for the main entree. I could not finish it so I asked for a to go box and they gave me the cutest pink box to put it in that looked like one of those build-a-bear boxes. My best friend asked for a box just because it was so cute and she wanted to keep one haha. Lastly, I ordered the Nutella filled donuts. I was already super full at this point, but it was too good not to finish! At the end of your meal, you will be so full and satisfied. We were seated by the patio area which was nicely decorated. The interior colors are white and dark green. While we ate, we enjoyed live piano music. ::Drinks:: I got a glass of Carpe Diem, Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, 2012. It went well with the main course. ::Food:: First, we were served with three different kinds of bread and a side of soft butter. I liked the cheese triangle sliced bread. ~1st Course~ We got all three. Lobster Bisque, Bibb Lettuce Salad, and Crab Cake. The Crab Cake laid on persimmon puree, topped with thin slices of apple-lime gastrique, and it was surrounded by pieces of fried Brussel sprouts; I enjoyed this dish the most. I didn't like the flavor of the Lobster Bisque. ~Second Course~ The three pieces of Pan Seared Scallops came with salsify, crisp Swiss chard, and black trumpets. I also tasted the Jidori Chicken Supreme. It came with cauliflower, turnip, and jus sauce. Let me start off by saying this is a simply gorgeous spot. But everything really falls flat once you get past the decor. Social distancing was great, I felt very safe. The staff were not friendly. The service was very inattentive. I sat and watched multiple guest who got their entree quicker than me who were seated after me. Rarely did anyone come check in and see how I was doing or if I was ready for the next course. The food was mediocre and lacked flavor. My pancakes were not even fully cooked. A friend and I decided to meet for afternoon tea at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel. The afternoon started off well as we were seated in the corner booth that Marilyn Monroe apparently loved to sit in which looked out onto the patio. Shortly after being seated, our waiter arrived at our table to offer us a menu of their tea offerings and to explain the variety of teas in more detail. We opted to try several of their teas and I started with the jasmine reserve, followed by the Tali's masala chai, the Italian blood orange, and i finished with the velvet tea which had a rich, chocolate flavor. The tea was accompanied by a three-course food pairing. Tea sandwiches: - curried chicken salad - cucumber - fig, caramelized onions, and cheese mousse - smoked salmon and dill cream - chicken salad and bacon Scones with lemon curd, devonshire cream, and fresh strawberries Desserts: - berry tart - vanilla creme puff - pistachio and cherry financier - raspberry yogurt macaroon - sacher torte (chocolate cake) We enjoyed a lovely tea time, primarily because of the teas and ambiance. While the sandwiches were tasty and the scones were fresh, the devonshire cream was a far cry from the delicious clotted cream in the UK and the desserts were not sweet enough for me. Maybe I expected more for $40 or maybe I've been spoiled having just had fabulous high tea in the UK recently. My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday dinner. We were both very excited for the experience. We showed up right on time for our reservations but it still took more than 20 minutes for us to get seated. When we were seated, we got the worst table in the entire place. It was next to the kitchen and there were servers constantly walking past us. The walkway was very narrow and I was scared to move in fear that I would cause someone to trip or spill something. We were also seated next to the patio door and I would freeze every time the door was opened. I was super excited about the bread basket (had been on a low carb diet for a week and this was a cheat day) and the blue cheese bread did not disappoint. We started with the steak tartare. It was my first time trying steak tartare and I loved how the server mixed all the ingredients in front of us. This was our favorite thing that we ordered. Our server also disappeared for a good 20 minutes and we had to wave down someone to take our entree order. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye and it came out way overcooked (see picture). He let our server know but didn't feel like waiting for it to be redone. I checked that my burger wasn't overcooked while the server was there and we were happy it was cooked medium (funny how far our standards dropped after just an hour there). I after I took my first bite, I realized that the patty was burnt black on both sides. I was pretty full from everything else so I only ate half of my burger. My burger was nothing special. The $10 burgers I get at my favorite burger places were so much better than what I got. Both my burger and his ribeye were supposed to be waygu beef but we couldn't taste that at all. Our server did come back and told us the chef sent us his apologies for overcooking the ribeye. Which was nice but immediately negated when the manager came to check on us at the end of the meal and he obviously was not informed. We couldn't decide between the pistachio and chocolate soufflé so we got both. They were both delicious, especially with the vanilla creme sauce. Our server disappeared again at this time and it took almost 30 minutes to get our check after our table was cleared. I've gotten better quality/tasting food for a fraction of the cost and I get better service at Applebees. I don't understand the appeal of this place and can say with confidence that I will never be back. read more

Took my boyfriend to breakfast at The Polo Lounge before heading out of town. Neither of us had dined here before and both looked forward to it. We arrived and were greeted and quickly shown a lovely table on the patio. Service was awesome! and the kitchen had just slowed down from a morning rush so our plates were out in no time. Good thing, since we needed to get on the road. We enjoyed mimosas, with the right amount of champagne before heading to Palm Springs. I ordered the Blueberry Ricotta pancakes which were surprisingly good. I've been off of dairy and gluten so wasn't sure how I'd do with these but they were fantastic. I ate a lot more of them than I anticipated. The honey Greek yogurt was also very good. I would love to see them offer a Buckwheat option though. My boyfriend ordered the Southern California Omelet, he finished it but I don't think anything really stood out about it to him. I've been making soyrizo and eggs with avacado at home with dairy free cheddar so I had a feeling my dish would be hard to top ;) it was. I have been coming to the lounge since I was a little kid end it never dawned on me to write a review of the one place that I probably go to the most. The food is great and it has such a calm atmosphere. Any cocktail or mock tail that I've had at the lounge has been very good. Wow, talk about an opulent dining experience! I came here last month for an office holiday lunch. Upon arrival at the hotel, you are greeted by a team of efficient valets who take off from the red carpet-lined hotel entrance. Since we came right before Christmas, the hotel was decorated with holiday cheer. There was a series of nutcrackers that lined the red carpet area, which also includes a permanent step-and-repeat to make you feel fabulous as you enter the historic Hotel California. The restaurant is located through the hotel lobby, which had a beautifully lit Christmas tree that was surrounded by mini cars driven by huge teddy bears! I had to dock a star because the wait was unreasonably long. We had a reservation for 2pm for 10 people, and they seated us at a table for 6 people by 2:35pm. The table they intended to reserve for is had been in use by the previous party, who were simply hanging out and chatting it up. While it was their right as patrons to stay as long as they'd liked without being rushed by the hotel, I'm quite disappointed in the poor planning on the hotel staff's part to prepare a table for us. We ended up being seated by about 3pm, ordered champagne and requested a couple of glasses of apple cider. They were frustrated about our request! And then the waiter didn't even give it to us! We had to order it again from our waitress before we could toast. We browsed the menu, and ordered drinks, appetizers, and our meals. The tuna tartare was delicious! I also ordered a juice, which came from Pressed Juicery, which was good but it didn't taste like what I was expecting. I ordered the special fish of the day - skate, which was quite delicious, but it was very salty so I could only eat half of it. Surprisingly, though, with the bread that they give you at the table, and our appetizers, eating only half of the plate filled me up. A couple of people ordered the Wagyu burger, which was apparently outstanding. The meat just melts in your mouth! I also ordered the Black Forest cake for dessert, which was super moist and delicious. Very well made, but not enough to share or bring home leftovers of. Although the overall attitude and professionalism of the wait staff was pleasant, I was disappointed in how often we had to flag someone down to get their attention for a drink menu or to place an order for a drink or a side dish. We also had to ask more than once, which was frustrating. It's no wonder why the party before us stayed so late - it was a challenge to get their attention or to get them to accomplish a request! The restroom they have is the same as the one in the hotel lobby, which is very opulent. The entrance is a bit tricky to find, as it looks like there's more than one, but there is only one way to enter. Since the hotel is through a gate off of Sunset Blvd, I think valet is the only parking option. Of course, they accept credit card. I'd recommend this place if you want a high end dining experience once in a while, or on a Tuesday because you have the money to spend. I wouldn't come here on my own dime - I think there are other places I'd choose to patronize for the same price point.
