I ordered the veggie combo plate (if you want it vegan make sure to leave off the feta cheese in the salad!) and their watermelon mint lemonade. Wow! Their selection of flavored lemonades was impressive, and the one I ordered was delicious. Would be fun to try their other flavors. The food was very flavorful and filling. I think this is hidden gem! The food was fresh , handmade authentic. We had filet mignon kabab and lamb kebabs, both were tender and delicious. The PITA fries with hummus dip is a must try! If you're in the mood for a sweet treat the baklava was superb, lots of nuts and sweet but not dripping with honey , Kash and Sheila go out of their way to make it feel warm friendly. My colleague and I were looking for a greek restaurant on our drive back to the Central Coast from San Diego and stumbled upon Pom & Olive. There was construction going on next door so at first we didn't think they were open but THEY ARE! :-) I ordered the falafel platter and she ordered the chicken shawarma platter. We also ordered the Watermelon Mint Lemonade and baklava. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The servings were very generous and we both agreed that the food was delicious! The service was also very fast. To note, the falafel was by far the best falafel I have ever had - they were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside - not dry at all. And very flavorful. Our first time trying Mediterranean cuisine. Awesome time here at Pom & Olive on Bristol St and Red Hill Ave. Party of three on a Sunday around noon. Not busy at all around those times. Limited parking, clean, well light and well organized restaurant, full bar available (Beer, wine, cocktails, etc.) Staff is quiet but still friendly and welcoming. Very kind and respectful waiter. Very helpful, especially since we needed some time to make our choices. Food is of high quality and good quantity, prices are good also. Our service was quick and accurate. I went here and got a Taste of Mediterranean, Lamb Shank, and Baklava. One thing that was strange was how early the baklava came. In fact, it was the first thing that was brought out. I enjoyed the Taste of Mediterranean. The tzatziki is super fresh and tangy. The hummus was smooth and the babagonoush is mild but still good. The pita is warm and good but unfortunately there was not enough pita for all of the spreads. My favorite would be the tzatziki. The lamb shank was huge. Even though I like lamb racks better, this was a good piece of lamb. It was super tender and the meat gals right off the bone. I really liked the salad dressing and the stewed vegetables (bell peppers and carrots) as well. The mashed potatoes were average. The baklava was above average. I like the crunchy top layer a lot. As expected, it was super sweet. This baklava had a layer of pistachio in the middle that helps offset the sweetness. I haven't seen this often in the other baklavas that I've had before. I had a dinner party of 6 a few nights ago, for a buddy's birthday. There was a lot of space and seating, which is good to know for future events. The reservation didn't seem to matter. We were shown to a table, but weren't given menus automatically. That was odd. The server was initially attentive with taking our order, but the busser and food runner did most of the work. But Chicken dry. * Price - Good price, lower than average Bad * Service - Super slow wait to be seated and served. Not the place to go if you need to be somewhere. Had to keep checking in for a table that was supposed to be a few minutes but ended up 30+ minutes. Also to place order took forever. Definitely staffing issues. Thankfully food came out relatively quick after order. * Chicken Fesenjon - Chicken Dry/tough. Sauce good. * Rice - Bit dry. Portions are way too small. They give a quarter of what most Mediterranean places give. * Refreshments - Tried Chia Fresca (weird lime/pineapple combo) and Mango Lemonade (better). Not a fan of either unfortunately. * Side Salads - Not so fresh/wilted * Patron - They added water * Decor - bit dated, needs renovation Overall the elderly couple who runs this place seem really nice but definitely move at their own pace. I really enjoyed my chicken shawarma wrap! It was a great meal at a reasonable price. The chicken portion was very generous. I got the garlic sauce on the side because I was not sure if I would like it but it was great (not overwhelmingly garlicky). I also got tzatziki sauce and that was great on it as well. The wrap came with a ton of chicken, cabbage, and pickles. It also came with a salad. The salad was fresh but tasted like there was no dressing. I would recommend they put the dressing on the side so you can add what you want, and also especially with takeout orders so that it doesn't get soggy. I look forward to trying more items! The name of it is called Pom and Olive in Costa Mesa. My wife had the lamb stew and I had the beef stew and both were so delicious. They're a egg plant dip was exceptional and I couldn't get enough of it.. the hummus is also good. Went on a Thursday evening for dinner with a girlfriend to catch up. It was a random pick when I entered healthy food in the area. Let me tell you this food was so fresh and delicious. The pita fries were a bonus as an appetizer. It was very kind of them to bring them out as we waited a little longer for service, but they did get a bit of a rush for dinner. I had the chicken Shawarma Wrap and it's one of the best I had! Very juicy and tender chicken, oh and the portions sizes are great! Not stingy in the meats! Nice clean spacious place for a group.
