I was very excited to try this restaurant and it certainly did not disappoint. I recommend reserving a table during dinner hours as it was very busy when we showed up for our reservation. Fortunately, we were seated promptly and service was excellent. Tables are very close together so you might inadvertently eavesdrop onto a conversation next to you. The two pizzas we ordered included and calamari as an appetizer. As a Neapolitan pizza lover, they were prepared perfectly and were delicious. Experience. We asked for a table 45 min wait. No problem. As they said there was reservations. I asked can we wait at the bar have drink while we wait. She said well the bar is open seating we prefer you stand and wait. I said so don't spend my money and a have a seat while I wait for a table? We started with drinks - I got an espresso martini and my bestie had a Prosecco. We shared the meatballs and bread with olives and olive oil as our appetizer. We both opted for pizza, and they were amazing! Our server, Bree, was incredible - friendly and informative, she provided a great explanation of the menu. More like 3.5 * but our waiter was very nice so I'll bump it up. Came in early before heading to see Jo Koy at the Footprint Center (which was amazing, btw). We both ate a late lunch so we were not overly hungry, which is rare. We were going to get one pizza each but when the waiter mentioned that the bufala is more "wet" than other pizzas I didn't really want a wet pizza. I ordered the margherita instead and my husband got the bufala. When they both came out they were equivalently wet. Not bad but if you want a crispier crust then maybe try something else and ask for cooked more because these two pies had more "wet" dough under the cheese. They were still very good because the dough and sauce are flavorful and everything tasted very fresh and clean. Pros 1. Good flavor 2. Fresh tasting 3. Clean (not procrssed food) tasting 4. Service was ok. Food we had the calamari and bread and olive tray to start. Calamari was off. A bit fishy and gummy. Olives were ok. For entrees I had the sausage and mushroom fresh pasta. Experiencing a new place is always exciting, and first impressions are so important. Your first interaction with an employee and the ambiance. 5 stars for both here. Leslie is a gem. Answering our food sensitivity questions and going above and beyond getting the answers. I was able to ask the embarrassing food sensitivities questions and still get a pizza in less than 7 minutes. I am not kidding! Impressive! I felt so comfortable, we will definitely be back! Not only do they offer gluten-free pizza, but pasta as well. You must try their expresso martinis! They even have a Tini Tuesday special. $10 martinis! The gluten-free pizzas were so good. We love the sauce and cheese! The crust does not taste gluten-free, which was such a treat. As for the food itself... it was decent. The dishes were great and my party loved the service, but we often found that we have had better Italian food. What we got.... Bruschetta Crudo, Figs and Honey - comes in two big pieces, but we requested for it to be sliced in half for sharing! It was yummy. Burratella - this pizza was personal size, but perfect for sharing along with other dishes. The pizza itself was good, but nothing special. They did offer a spicy dipping sauce on the side for more flavor. Tagliatelle Bolognese- the portion may seem small but it is definitely filling! Taste exactly as you would imagine for a red sauce pasta. Gramigna Boscaiola- the Noodles/pasta were a bit firm. The sauce was good but can be heavy overtime as you eat. The experience was that bad but when we entered through the entrance we were greeted with very poor greeting. I said hello to the hostess and ask how she was doing and was replied only with how many people. Then when we sat she just goes there's your table. Our waitress was more polite. Food was very good my biggest complaint was that I ordered the meatball it came out after not even two minutes that was a red flag and when I went to eat it the outside was warm but the inside was almost less then room temperature. I also got the aroma cocktail was not very fond of it.I got the inferno pizza and it was delicious. I recommend the torta Nutella as a dessert. Went on a Friday night with a friend visiting from out of town. I had previously gone to their Biltmore location and enjoyed it. This location is just closer to home and we were already downtown. It was busy so we sat at the bar because it wasn't busy. Tried to order an espresso martini flight each when the 2nd bartender butted in and told us we weren't allowed to do that because it's too much alcohol for one person and told the bartender taking our order that it's more than 4oz of liquor. Which I find interesting considering the flight is 4 very small espresso martinis that tasted like no alcohol was even in them. I'd be surprised if there was even 1oz in each drink. Also, at the Biltmore location a friend has ordered the flight for himself and it was no issue. After we got the flight it felt like both bartenders were avoiding us. They never checked on us. Incredible pizza, and really kind wait staff. Our server made the evening even more fun than it already was, despite being extremely busy with several other full tables in his zone. Two of us ordered pizzas, and one of us ordered a salad. All was delicious, I would feel confident ordering literally anything off the menu here. We also had the Classica bruschetta which I could have eaten so much more of. They also cater, which I found out two days after our visit when they came in to cater dinner at the conference I was attending in Phoenix. Their catering was just as good as their in-house food, since they fire the pizza in a mobile oven right there in front of you.
